Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Due to the nature of SCP-XXXX, no major containment procedures are required. A 2km fenced perimeter has been created around the location of SCP-XXXX with signs around the perimeter detailing a new Government fracking field under construction. The cover story (coupled with SCP-XXXX's primary effect) has proven effective in keeping the general public away from the anomaly.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a small forest located in the Staffordshire county, United Kingdom. The forest itself is part of a large residential plot but due to SCP-XXXX's primary effect, the residents vacated in search of a 'safer' area to live. SCP-XXXX was discovered on 24/10/2018 when a nearby T████ M████ 3 car with a semi autonomous driving mode suddenly stopped, turned around, and drove away breaking numerous traffic laws and resulting a head-on collision with another driver. This has since happened to 13 other vehicles which possess a type of autonomous driving. It was found that this occurred when the car came within 6km of SCP-XXXX.

The large number of collisions alerted the local police who sent Agent H████ K███ (undercover as Officer S Hawthorne) to investigate. Agent H████ K███ was found 2 hours after initial dispatch huddled in the back of the police vehicle in a foetal position sobbing. When questioned, Agent H████ K███ refused to answer and only said that he had "never been so terrified in his life".

SCP-XXXX's primary effect affects all living organisms (biological). When a human (or other animal) comes within 4km of SCP-XXXX, they will start to feel as if they shouldn't be there and that they should leave. This effect is small at first with most people being able to disregard the feeling. This effect scales when the subject is closer to the anomaly. Within 3km, people will begin to feel 'scared' and that there is something nearby that they must get away from. It appears to take a very strong will-power to resist this feeling and to move closer. Within 2km those who haven't already left will start feeling extreme dread. This is accompanied by a large release of adrenaline and an unusually high heartrate. People who possess the will-power to get to the 1km boundary of SCP-XXXX do so under extreme stress and fear and at this point, all participants either lose consciousness and collapse, suffer SCA (Sudden Cardiac Arrest) due to their extremely high heartrate or turn around and run. No human, or animal has successfully entered SCP-XXXX

SCP-XXXX's secondary effect affects most electronic devices. Electronics which contain basic circuitry or just perform a single function are not affected (For example: Flashlights, watches, speakers etc). Devices affected generally contain a X86 or ARM based CPU. Smartphones with dedicated an 'NPU' or Neural Processing Unit are particularly susceptible to SCP-XXXX's secondary effect. When within 7km of SCP-XXXX, computers, smartphones and any other device with advanced circuitry will begin to undergo numerous random and unpredictable changes. Smartphones and computers have been seen to slow down, turn off their wireless communication, display messages on-screen, ending system-critical tasks, loading map directions which lead to anywhere which isn't SCP-XXXX. It appears that SCP-XXXX has the same effect on electronic devices as it does on biological organisms. The changes in the normal operation of the device is the device itself trying to keep away from SCP-XXXX, as if it were 'scared'. It must be noted that, while the devices are expressing fear, they have not gained sentience. Devices which can control their own movement will leave the SCP-XXXX AOE at the first avaliable opportunity. Currently, no
