Item #: SCP-5723
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5723 is contained in a Water-Tight 10 x 10 x 10 cube
in Research Sector-03 at Site-16. SCP-5723 is Monitored by a Chemical-Resistant Camera
placed in the center of the ceiling. SCP-5723 is not to be transported without Anti-Corrosive
equipment/containment cube (Including special suits, worn by all transporting personal).
SCP-5723 is, at its core, a pool of highly-corrosive liquid. As a default form, it takes the
shape of a humanoid-like entity, retaining its liquid consistency. SCP-5723's genetic structure is similar
to that of Battery Acid, but not exact. Transportation of SCP-5723 is only permitted by clearance of Level-4
personal or higher. Failure to comply to this rule will result in instantaneous termination. Entry of
SCP-5723's cell is only permitted by clearance of Level-3 personal or higher. SCP-5723 is to be
kept in its cell at all times (with the exception of transportation or clearance by 05 personal).
If SCP-5723 is to breach containment at any given time, the use of fire is used to calm,
or if required, terminate SCP-5723.
Discovery 5723.1:
SCP-5723 was discovered in a mine, located in [DATA EXPUNGED], Africa. The Shaft was approximately 231 meters
below surface level. NTF Squad November-11 arrived 2 hours after the presence of SCP-5723 was reported.
SCP was found in a minecart, seeping through the solid iron the cart was made from. After it was found,
The SCP was encased in a temporary special-containment cube, and shipped off to Site-16. The incident was
reported by [DATA EXPUNGED], a Project Manager overlaying the Mining Operation. Project Manager
[DATA EXPUNGED] later stated; "I didn't know what I saw. I thought I was going insane."
Incident 5723.2: 02/06/2019
Approximately 3 weeks after SCP-5723's initial discovery, 05 Council Member [DATA EXPUNGED]
requested that experimentation should begin on SCP-5723. As of which, Dr. Brian Brooks
took up the request. Test subject (D-92364) was placed inside of SCP-5723's cell. 30
seconds after the initial introduction of the test subject to SCP-5723, a scream was heard
from inside the chamber.
2 Armed Guards entered the chamber, only to find D-92364 standing in a corner, and SCP-5723
nowhere in sight. The test subject was unresponsive to the guards, and didn't display any
kind of motion, even when being threatened with death. D-92364 was escorted out of the cell.
D-92364 then liquified, revealing itself as SCP-5723, attacking the guards.
In the aftermath of the attack, 1 guard had been deceased, while the other survived
with major acid burns. Dr. Brian Brooks suffered no injuries. As of the 02/06/2019
incident, a shoot-on-sight order was given to all monitoring guards for any existing matter inside
of the chamber if SCP-5723 is not visibly present inside (Issued by 05 Council Member [DATA EXPUNGED]).
