“The Primordium”
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: As there is no known way to contain or terminate SCP-XXXX, personnel are instructed to kneel if/when they encounter it in cloud form, as it only seems to attack prey who fight back or flee. The main reason for this, likely lies in the possibility that it only kills for entertainment. If the prey makes itself boring, then it has no entertainment value.
Description:SCP-XXXX is a shapeshifter, likely being able to take a vast array of forms. However the only observed forms are a viscous black cloud, resembling tar, along with a black rat snake, an osprey, along with a man in a white suit, who has no facial features, and skin similar in appearance to the “tar,” that makes up its cloud form. In cloud form, SCP-XXXX has an acidic affect, similar in power to SCP-106. The primary differences are that the affect works at an atomic level, only effects living organisms, and can only be removed by SCP-XXXX itself, or reality benders such as 3812 and 343. The fact that only the cloud form seems to possess this affect indicates that this is its “hunting form,” which is further supported by the massive increase in aggression when in this form. At one point, five D-Classes equipped with body cams, accompanied by a strike team to terminate any who tried to escape, were dispatched to a location where XXXX had been recently sighted. They soon found XXXX in a condemned apartment building, with a woman’s torso and head protruding from it’s cloud form, though quickly sinking. Upon the D-Classes being forced into the room, and the door locked behind them, XXXX immediately dropped it’s current prey. It opened the encounter by spraying several concentrated streams of acid, that immediately bored through the subjects’ left knees. Though crippled, they could move. Four of them began screaming, and pounding on the door. Number five tried to tackle XXXX, and went straight through, coming out with no skin, and little muscle left. What remained of this D-Class completely liquified in under a minute. His camera however, was still streaming. XXXX then manifested several pseudopods that it proceeded to use as whips, lashing at the D-Classes’ legs until they had nothing below the knee. At this point, XXXX begins vibrating slightly, appearing frantic as it finishes off the last few D-Class with large showers of acid. XXXX then spasmed harshly before taking its humanoid form. This humanoid form proceeds to collapse to its knees, appearing distraught. It then vanishes completely. This encounter would seem to indicate a Jekyll/Hyde scenario. There are at present two possibilities. The first is that the humanoid form is the actual being, and that it cannot control when the Primordium(as it has been colloquially referred to) emerges. The second, is that the cloud is the actual being, and only at certain points does it lose control and take the humanoid form.
