SCP-1764
Class:Euclid
Description: SCP-1764 is a mound of snow measuring roughly 1 foot by 8 inches. The snow is compact and not powder like indicating that some sort of freezing has occurred over time. The snow is perfectly clean with no specks if dirt or leaves covering it. Any attempts to dirty it will result in the snow absorbing the particles of detritus and returning to its original form within 20-30 seconds. The snow has a resting temperature of 32 degrees Celsius as determined by foundation scanners. The anomalous properties of the snow express themselves when any organic organisms comes about 15-20 feet away from the mound. When this occurs the temperature of the snow will rise to approximately 100 degrees Fahrenheit. With every successive step that an individual takes toward the mound the temperature will rise another 100 degrees. If the individual approaches the snow and interacts with it the snows temperature will shoot up to around 5000 degrees Fahrenheit and cause a large fire to form possibly seriously injuring the individual and it’s surroundings. The snow does not show any signs of melting or damage of any kind to itself, and if the individual is removed from its range it will revert to its normal resting temperature. Also if not me, on about 1/8 of the interactions with the snow, when touched not only will it ignite an inferno, but the mound may also teleport to a short distance away as if to evade an attacker. It is unclear if the sentience level of the snow as it seems to be acting on basic impulse. Further testing required.
