Item #: SCP-XXXX "Multiplying Amish Dolls"

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: Individual dolls are relatively uncomplicated to contain once in empty 4ftx4ftX6ft rooms while doors are sealed. No more than one doll is allowed per holding cell. Personnel entering must enter in groups. Any escaped instances should be temporarily neutralized with flames or chemicals, if possible, as their recovery period appears to be longer after these types of destruction. The largest fragments will be the fragment that the instance will grow back from, with other fragments slowly going missing when not observed.

The most difficult aspect of containing SCP-XXXX is knowing how many dolls are undiscovered and active at any given time. Our reason for classifying SCP-XXXX as "Keter," rather than "Euclid" is largely a result of the strategic nature of its propagation. Its behavior, however, implies the possibility of stopping it, as it is often indirect in its methods of propagation.

!IMPORTANT! NEW SECURITY PROTOCOL: Due to recent events regarding the discovery of a member of personnel being a disguised instance of SCP-XXXX carrying a bag containing several instances, all personal working in the facility containing SCP-XXXX must wear assigned variations of uniforms each consecutive day. Personnel's variation will be recording every shift during punch-in. All personnel repeating a uniform variation will be detained immediately. Within the first week of this policy, three instances of SCP-XXXX have already been discovered and detained. Failing to do so will result in immediate termination.

Description: The dolls appear as white, faceless, 13 inch tall Amish dolls, wearing the clothing and accessories of a recent missing person. This person is often confirmed to be killed by another instance of SCP-XXXX. It is believed that the dolls must murder a human being in order to reproduce. In rare cases, the body of the missing person will be found, indicating that it has not replaced the missing person, however. The dolls will spend most of their time docile and inactive, appearing as normal dolls with no unusual properties or materials, aside from surprisingly modern clothing. Despite having relatively unremarkable appearances, individuals encountering the dolls will often have a sudden appreciation for the workmanship of the dolls.

The doll may also appear with an identical appearance, height, voice and personality of the missing person, and will often infiltrate their social circles. They appear to use this form almost immediately after a person has gone missing, before anyone is aware that the individual missing. Dolls with more modern clothing are more likely to disguise as the missing person than dolls wearing older clothing, further supporting the hypothesis that the dolls use the form of the missing person primarily as a means of infiltration. While disguised, they will not exhibit any behavior previously unusual of the deceased person, unless if they notice another individual possibly finding evidence of their existence, sometimes acting erratically to prevent any discovery. They also have advanced social and emotional intelligence, regardless of the victim they were spawned from, using this intelligence to manipulate other potential victims. They may also use expectations to their advantage, such as subtly orchestrating intense fights between parents if in the form of their child, creating plausible murder-suicide scenarios to avoid homicide investigations.

It is believed that all of these missing persons have been killed by the dolls themselves. The dolls will generally seek an opportunity to pursue another victim when the fewest potential witnesses are present. If a small group of witnesses are present, the dolls may attempt to eliminate all witness hastily in a state of panic. They will generally attack any individual noticing them move on their own immediately. While attacking, the dolls can sprint up to 30 miles per hour and leap to their target's center of mass. They will produce weapons, often large needles and piercing weapons. It is unknown what other weapons are used, as missing body parts and fractures uncharacteristic of piercing weapons have been found on victims.

When dissecting one such doll with a remote controlled robotic arm, only stuffing appeared to be inside. The doll quickly recovered and appeared to regrow its stitching after dissection.

Addendum: While SCP-XXXX was not discovered until the 2010s, clothing of some of its instances imply an older age. Given the older style of dress that Amish communities use and their frequent proximity to them in rural areas of the American Midwest and Canada, they often avert suspicion.
