SCP-5092
The Diary
Containment Class: Safe
Disruption Class:
Risk Class:
Secondary Class:

Special Containment Procedure.
SCP-5092 is kept under tight security in a fireproof display case located within Site 616 “The
Bibliotheca” the SCP's main depository of objects that take the form of documents and books. SCP-5092 can only be viewed in the on-site cleanroom by level 3 personal or higher. Full PPE (personal protection equipment) must be worn at all times; At no time can skin contact be made with the SCP-5092.

Description:
A nondescript hardcover, dark leather, bound book measuring 155mm X 230MM. And always 369 pages thick. With no writing on the exterior. From a cursory examination, SCP-5092 would be indistinguishable from a normal handwritten diary. What the book is an in-depth diary of the bonded subject that is updated daily if the subject is alive. The book includes a narration of every thought and action of the subject as told by a 3rd person narrator. The narration is always in the subject's hand and includes spelling errors and grammatical mistakes that the subject would make had he been the one writing in the book himself. SCP-5092 updates itself at midnight local time for the subject birthplace, regardless of the current location or distance of the subject. The update is a thorough retelling of the subject's previous day. Every eternal monologue, every action, every piece of media the subject consumed that day is in the update.
SCP-5092 can recall any day of the subject's life. To do so, the user has to hold the book closed and speak what day of the person's life they would like to review directed at the spine exactly 18CM away. The requested day will appear starting on page 5 of the book and will continue with days until the 365 pages are filled. On average one day of a person's narration fills around 25 pages, depending on the amount of media they consumed that day.
The activation and bonding of a subject to SCP-5092 was, at first, thought to be simply touched. A subject would touch SCP-5092 and it would form a bond that would link the book to them. It was quickly discovered to be DNA based. That as long as SCP-5092 did not come into contact with a new source of DNA it would stay pair-bonded and let anyone read the innermost thoughts of the subject. This leads to the inherent dangers of SCP-5092, as it could reveal a subject's passwords, top-secret martial, launch codes all with the smallest amount of DNA.
One of the more anomalous features of SCP-5092 is that around 8% of the time, the daily update will update two days, instead of one. Giving one day of future knowledge of the bonded subject. Under observation, this one day of future narration is 100% accurate, and can not be changed. Any attempt at change is shown in the text of SCP-5092. If a bonded subject happens to be reading SCP-5092 during one of its future narrations it will create an infinite regress that leads to the bonded subject's death.

Upon opening the book, the first page will always just be a large font name placed center of the page. Under the name, there is always a number in a slightly smaller font.
Example:

Andrew R. Pogue
14,584

After the title page, what appears to be a list of numbers that count up from 365 and 366. It is a table to help the reader determine how many days have passed by what year.
For example:
Year One: 365
Year Two: 731
Year Three: 1091
Year Four: 1456
Year Five: 1821
Year Six: 2187

You can see in the example that the years take into account leap years when adding days up.

The next two pages are usually blank. The 5th page always starts with “Year one” at the top and the page is numbered 365 at the bottom.
