Special Containment Procedures: SCP-2141 are to be individually contained within a combination locked steel case lined with foam based on the dimensions of the individual instance of SCP-2141. Cases must be labeled with SCP-2141's unique identification number prior to containment. Contained instances of SCP-2141 are to be stored within a dehumidified, weight sensitive locker inside the site 8 testing armory. Any decrease in weight should alert response teams of a possible containment breach.
Physical contact with SCP-2141 by personnel during containment should be limited to twenty (20) minutes at a time, with no attempt to converse while in contact with, or with persons in contact with SCP-2141 being made. Once locked in containment, SCP-2141 instance can be safely stored with other instances of SCP-2141.
[Addendum - X ] Due to high risk of containment failure and overall security threat should other instances of SCP-2141 develop the same behavior as SCP-2141-7, testing involving SCP-2141 are halted. As of ██/██/████ SCP-2141-1 through SCP-2141-7 and any new instances of SCP-2141 are to be contained in the Area 15 small anomaly vault.
[Addendum 2141 - 18] As of ██/██/████, SCP-2141-7 is located at all times on the person of Senior Researcher Dr. Belymari. If discovered in any location otherwise, standard instance transport procedures for SCP-2141 are to be followed until SCP-2141-7 can be returned to her person.
Description: SCP-2141 refer to a number of anomalous firearms currently amounting to seven (7), of varying models. Refereed to as SCP-2141-1 through SCP-2141-7, instances are visually; mechanically and functionally identical to their commercial counterparts, though lacking any identifying markings standard to their models. SCP-2141's only markings consist of a series of nine (9) stamped numbers located on SCP-2141's trigger. See: [Instance Catalog Data 2141]
SCP-2141 came into Foundation containment following MTF Iota-3 ( "Light Wardens" ) operation "Rising Curtains" and associated raids on 'Marshall, Carter & Dark Ltd.' affiliated auction houses located in █████████. SCP-2141-1 to SCP-2141-6 were secured along with MC&D transportation instructions, and a bill of sale to a buyer in Dubai, a Mr. M ███████. SCP-2141-7 was found in a separate personal effects locker on site but does not appear on any of the found transaction documents.
Testing confirmed that when left outside of an instance's marked case, or the knowing possession of a subject, SCP-2141 would begin displace itself to another location within ~500m of its previous position, favoring locations out of sight and in close proximity to humans. SCP-2141 continues this behavior until containment procedures have been upheld, or a subject takes knowing possession of SCP-2141, which includes acts such as intentionally holstering or concealing of SCP-2141 on subject's person. It is currently not known why labeling SCP-2141's containment vessel prevents this behavior, but it has thus far proven effective.
During testing of SCP-2141's initially known behaviors, personnel in contact for long duration began displaying spontaneous knowledge of previously unknown languages while in contact with SCP-2141. An incident soon followed in which a researcher suddenly assaulted a colleague while yelling "You can't tell me what to do anymore," all further hands on testing exceeding the twenty (20) minutes period noted in MC&D document was reassigned to D-Class personnel at the request of Dr. Belymari, fearing unknown mind effecting properties.
Continued D-class testing led to the violent confirmation that SCP-2141's mind-affecting properties not only exists, but are not limited to subjects directly in contact with SCP-2141. During long-exposure testing D-1182 was asked by security what he wanted ( in regards to food ) he responded sarcastically "Your gun?" security personnel proceeded to hand D-1182 his loaded rifle. D-1182 subsequently used the weapon in an escape attempt which led to three (3) injured security personnel and the eventual termination of D-1182.
Individual instances of SCP-2141 sporadically exhibit unique secondary mind-affecting properties which remain consistent to that instance throughout repeated testing. Most common is granting SCP-2141-A knowledge of one or more new languages with fluency levels roughly equivalent to that of SCP-2141-A's primary language. Inconsistent effects have included spontaneous bouts of; violence, racism, sexual advances, meditation, protest and rioting. While temporary, the sudden onset and unpredictability of the more dangerous of these effects led to the termination of several D-Class personnel during testing.
SCP-2141 was eventually determined to grant anomalous properties to subjects in continuous possession of SCP-2141 for a period exceeding approximately six (6) hours, now refereed to as SCP-2141-1. SCP-2141-1 is perceived by all listeners as charismatic, inspiring, persuasive, or otherwise influential and is capable of convincing or commanding listeners to do as SCP-2141-1 says. This compulsive effect remains through audio transmission, as well as in recordings, even persisting after SCP-2141-1 is no longer in possession of SCP-2141, but are limited to shared languages and audible vocalizations.
The magnitude of SCP-2141-A's persuasive effect appears to strengthen based on duration spent as SCP-2141-A, by the current tested extent of seventy-six (76) hours, SCP-2141-A is able to convince subjects to believe impossibility as facts, instruct them to commit actions in disregard of self preservation, and compel them to see; act or believe as instructed as if it were their own free will. When confronted, subjects react inconsistently, with some entirely oblivious to their actions while others state they were "inspired" by SCP-2141-A.
Considering the circumstances SCP-2141 came was discovered and its known effects, It is suspected that MC&D are still in possession and use of several instances of SCP-2141, with Foundation held instances accounting for a surplus, sold off due negative properties associated with individual instances. SCP-2141-7 is likely an example of an instance intended for use within MC&D prior to Foundation interference. SCP-2141 instances' mind-affecting properties would reasonably account for a number of currently unexplained compromising of Foundation personnel that led to containment breaches linked to MC&D operations.
