Foreword: This isn't meant to be an ordinary skip. It's a love letter to myself and every person that suffers from depression. To us, it's to show that we're not alone; not just in suffering, but in the peculiar ways that depression toys with us. To others? A peek in on the peculiar mechanisms of this incurable, terminal illness.

Description: SCP-XXXX is the designation for an anomalous illness commonly refereed to as "Depression" that manifests and afflicts the minds of sapient living creatures, seemingly at random, but in higher rates in individuals that have suffered a significant trauma, or in individuals who share a blood relation with another individual who suffers from depression. No vector of transmission has yet been identified.

Depression alters the perceptions, mood, thoughts, will of affected persons.

Depression is a terminal illness. Symptoms worsen and are often fatal without intervention.

However, Depression can be fought.

If your body has an immune system, then your mind's immune system is your will.
HIV attacks your immune system, and Depression attacks your will.
The very thing that you need to fight it, is the thing that's undermined by the illness.
Things that are not hard become hard. Things that are hard feel as if they're impossible.
IE: Imagine all the difficulty involved in going to the bank and filing out the paperwork for a small business loan. Now imagine that's the perceived difficulty of something normal. Something easy. Something you've probably done a thousand times.
If there's one message I want to be understood it's thing: People don't kill themselves because they're too sad. They kill themselves because they've lost hope. Get someone help, and try to help them see the hope they may have missed. It's not random. It can be stopped. We can stop it.
