Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Instances of SCP-XXXX are kept within various forms of official or fan-made fiction related to the "My Little Pony" franchise. The television program "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic"¹ in particular is to remain popular within internet culture for an indefinite period of time (see addendum). Anomalous circumstances within the program (or "in-universe")² are handled by Pataphysics Researcher Ditzy Doo³ and Field Agent Pinkamena Diane Pie⁴, as well as entities "in-universe" assigned to dealing with anomalous or dangerous phenomena. These include "in-universe" law enforcement, FA Pie's 5 primary associates, and SCP-XXXX-1's primary associate.

Fan content that includes an instance or multiple instances of SCP-XXXX are to be monitored and analyzed for any anomalous properties. If any are found, the writers, musicians, and/or other artists responsible will be questioned and given amnestics in order to remove memories of interviews and knowledge of the anomalous nature of the characters if applicable. Removal of a SCP-XXXX instance itself from civilian memory is ill-advised unless special circumstances state otherwise. See incident report XXXX-1 for details.

If a particular instance of SCP-XXXX-1 requires its own containment procedures, it will be showcased in its documentation.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a series of pataphysical entities within the TV series "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic" created by various major Groups Of Interest⁵ or through unknown means. SCP-XXXX instances usually meet the following qualifications;

• Instance was originally a non-anomalous background character before being turned into an instance of SCP-XXXX. No known⁶ exception to this has caught the attention of the Foundation or the Unusual Investigations Unit.
• Instance became popular with fans of the TV series. Anomalous nature of popularity can vary from being intentional on the part of a GOI to being seemingly unrelated. SCP-XXXX-5 is considered an exception.
• Character is not a reference to a pre-existing fictional character (such as the character "Doctor Whooves", an associate of SCP-XXXX-1) or was originally intended to be a major character in the program. No known exception has caught the attention of the Foundation or the Unusual Investigations Unit.

SCP-XXXX-E refers to the event of multiple GOIs recruiting pataphysical entities to infiltrate the same children's television program, as opposed to various different shows or separate mediums. Due to the statistical unlikelihood of an event akin to SCP-XXXX-E, it is possible that the occurrence is of an anomalous nature. However, Foundation research into this possibility has yielded no conclusive results either for or against this notion.

Descriptions of instances appearances' are not necessary, as this has been extensively described online due to fans of the program documenting each instance without Foundation involvement. Aliases: Researcher Ditzy Doo, Derpy Hooves, "Muffins", Delilah Doolittle⁷

Suspected Group Of Interest: The Foundation (Confirmed 10/10/10).

Background: SCP-XXXX-1 was a Foundation created instance of SCP-XXXX contacted 10/27/10. SCP-XXXX-1 was based off an animation error in the first episode of the program, and was recruited by the Pataphysics Department 2 weeks later. SCP-XXXX-1 is allowed to view documentation with a level 3 clearance level 2 clearance as standard and a level 3 clearance for pataphysics-related documents, as well as view field missions and research assignments available to its clearance level through a decal in the shape of SCP-XXXX-1 placed onto the clothes of a willing Foundation member. SCP-XXXX-1 can be contacted through the pataphysics department.

On 01/██ /1█, SCP-XXXX-1 was the subject of a removal campaign regarding its voice and alias.⁸ It has been theorized that this was a part of a GOI's attempt to remove SCP-XXXX-1 from the program. Investigations into this notion has not yielded substantial evidence, since it is unclear if any organization aside from the UIU is aware of the existence of SCP-XXXX-1.

UPDATE: Following the events of 06/17/15, SCP-XXXX-1 has been going to therapy regularly. Due to unstable mental health, subject has been downgraded to a level 2 clearance on documents unrelated to the pataphysics department. It has been using art in order to express its grievances. All works have been recovered, with the exception of the first piece.⁹ Foundation personnel are able to view these with the permission of SCP-XXXX-1 itself. Art by SCP-XXXX-1 has no anomalous properties, but is sometimes critical of the Foundation's methods. SCP-XXXX-1 has made a point of its loyalty to the foundation despite this through missions, team exercises and providing any information it can regarding anomalies.

Dr. ██████: Can you recall when you were first aware of your pataphysical nature?

SCP-XXXX-1: Well, I can remember living a life before then. Had a childhood, parents, the whole "existing" thing and all that goes with it. But when I found out I existed to be a background character with my lazy eye being a literal mistake… I just accepted it. I think that's how the Foundation knew I was a perfect fit. Most ponies- Most people, sorry- wouldn't be able to handle information like that, but I just went "OK".

SCP-XXXX-1: Another strange thing was how good I am at this. In being a Foundation agent, I mean. Training was a breeze. I aced my tests. I haven't failed any missions. I was just really good at it for seemingly no reason. My superiors say that the writers had nothing to do with any of that, but… Well, you can't blame me for being a tad suspicious, can you?

SCP-XXXX-1: Interesting point, I guess. When were you first aware that this world is the… "retelling" and not the "actual" one?

SCP-XXXX-3: Only now, when you showed your true colors. But you can trust me when I say there is a world where you exist as the Jailors do. There is a world out there where the Jailors can't have any influence. Many, in fact, to the point of infinity.

SCP-XXXX-4 is considered top priority for containment in the event of a pataphysical containment breach. Background: SCP-XXXX-4 gained attention from the Foundation on 10/27/11, when the character gained considerable traction within fan communities of the program following a brief appearance in the episode "The Return Of Harmony Pt. 2". Upon successful containment of the entity on 09/17/12, fan content of the character significantly decreased aside from ongoing projects. It's theorized that SCP-XXXX-4 was directly responsible for intense popularity of the character. Questioning of characters "Twilight Sparkle" and "Discord" claimed no recollection of the instance.

on 11/28/15, a character that appeared to be SCP-XXXX-4 briefly appeared in the background of the episode "The Cutie Re-Mark Pt. 2". No spikes in popularity appear to have occurred, there was no evidence of interference from rogue Foundation agents, and there were no reported containment breaches at the time. It's currently unknown how the character's appearance was possible. Evidence of advertising from GOI Doctor Wondertainment increasing during and after the incident was noted as having a possible correlation. Further research showed that advertising also increased in the period SCP-XXXX-4 gained popularity.

Nurse Tenderheart: Well, she was brought in having a split personality between herself… And a dog. The dog part is excitable, if a bit rowdy, but Screwy herself is rather kind and understanding.

SCP-XXXX-1: And how has she gotten worse?

Nurse Tenderheart: There's a third personality now.

SCP-XXXX-1: And what's that one like?

Nurse Tenderheart: Poor thing… She seems so scared and frightened all the time. Acts like she hasn't had food in years. She's always so paranoid that "the boss" will return, whoever that is. Rambles on and on about a [REDACTED] and working on an [REDACTED] making… Well, she never gets to that part because she'll typically break into tears. I hate hearing her cry. It feels so heartbroken…

SCP-XXXX-1: Have you done anything to try and help her?

Nurse Tenderheart: Of course, Ditzy! We're doctors, it's what we do! We've managed to help the dog part of her calm down quite a bit, but this new one is clearly under a lot of mental stress. We can't give her normal medication because we're afraid of how the "actual" Screwy would react to it. We've thankfully been making progress, but it's rather difficult to do when she can switch in the middle of a therapy session.

SCP-XXXX-1: Speaking of her, how does Screwy react to knowing about her… New personality?

Nurse Tenderheart: She doesn't seem to mind. She's always been easy-going, but because she doesn't remember what either of her other personalities do, she's been a bit annoyed at her "shifting" more often. However, she does like that we've been giving her more varied meals.

SCP-XXXX-1: Varied meals?

Nurse Tenderheart: Oh, well the new personality always seems starved, like I said, so we've been giving her a variety of new foods so she can enjoy different kinds!

SCP-XXXX-1: That's rather sweet of you. One more thing… What are the names of the other personalities?

Nurse Tenderheart: Well, the dog we call Spot. Generic, I know, but she responds to it the most. The other one… Her name is "Marry."

SCP-XXXX-1: Marry?

Nurse Tenderheart: Yes, but with one "r" instead of two. And her second name is apparently "Jenkins."

Subject claimed to SCP-XXXX-2 that it was part of a "super-secret anti-monster agency in Canterlot" that had dissolved due to the escape of a "bug-bear," later confirmed to be a pataphysical entity unrelated to SCP-XXXX. Upon SCP-XXXX-1 tracking down the instance, subject claimed to be an agent of the Unusual Investigations Unit and was confirmed the following day by the UIU itself. SCP-XXXX-2 expressed unawareness of SCP-XXXX-6's occupation before.

SCP-XXXX-6: Heh. I suppose you're immune to that?

SCP-XXXX-1: Actually, no. I'm -1.

SCP-XXXX-6: Ah, I see. I suppose you're wondering why I was chosen as an agent of the UIU?

SCP-XXXX-1: I'm more concerned with what the UIU is doing here, but I'm sure those can both be answered in one go.

SCP-XXXX-6: The UIU usually puts pataphysical agents into monster-of-the-week type shows. Supernatural, The Twilight Zone, and especially The X-Files. It's how we can control where other pataphysical monsters go. It's actually very effective. I've been told the hardest one to do consistently is Supernatural since none of the main 3 guys are agents and the setting can change in a single episode.

SCP-XXXX-1: I wouldn't consider our world as a "monster-of-the-week" type. There certainly are monsters, but most issues stem from personal conflicts.

SCP-XXXX-6: Well, considering there are apparently multiple other pataphysical agents from other groups that apparently went unnoticed by us, I think your bosses are making the right call labeling it as its own thing. Speaking of which, who's the other new discovery?

SCP-XXXX-1: Vinyl Scratch. I shouldn't be as surprised as I am, considering she lives with Octavia, but I interviewed her before and found nothing.

SCP-XXXX-6: Well, the info was found in the Foundation's plane of existence, so I wouldn't beat myself up over it if I were you. Maybe I should've expected something was up when you interviewed my girlfriend. But I am proud I managed to hide from the Foundation for close to 5 years.

SCP-XXXX-1: That reminds me, why were you chosen?

SCP-XXXX-6: Yeah, your assumption that I'd answer it in one go was a bit misguided. I was chosen because… Well, I'm a bit plain looking. I did end up in an Equestrian equivalent to the FBI, but like I said the anomaly¹⁵ caused us to dissolve. Turns out the anomaly causes friend groups and organizations to break up and go down. Glad they decided to put it into this universe, though. The combination of this world's friendship-based magic and the fact that most of it happened offscreen-

Background: Foundation personnel tasked with observing the production of episodes of My Little Pony; Friendship Is Magic notice that voice-casting for the character of "Vinyl Scratch" (SCP-XXXX-7) never went through, resulting in the character being mute for future roles. Investigations soon found that transgender actor Jesse Nowack¹⁶ had been partially responsible for the instance's creation sometime in 2012. This was done in a deal with members of Herman Fueller's Circus Of The Disquieting regarding an animal they had. Subject was properly amnestisized into believing that none of said events were anomalous. It is currently unknown how SCP-XXXX-7 had the ability to effect its "casting."

SCP-XXXX-1: I'm sorry about that, Vinyl.

SCP-XXXX-7: Do you at least have them contained or something so I can talk to them?

SCP-XXXX-1: Not all of them. We made sure he didn't forget you yourself, just… The fact that you could talk to him. And other magic stuff.

SCP-XXXX-7: Yes, I was "anomalous" before this happened to me. I replaced some character named "Record Needle" or something like that. I was a unicorn that could play music from seemingly nothing, and no, I don't know how it worked. They were considering turning me into glue because, around 2011, I started to only play dubstep that ruined the circus vibe because I thought it sounded good. Then, a certain someone named Jesse Nowack came down to save me. Not even Celestia knows why or how, but they managed to convince my former owners to spare me. No one wanted me out in the wild since the Essie P could've snatched me up or worse, and I don't know how they got me here.

SCP-XXXX-7: But when I was here… I could think like any [EXPLETIVE] pony in this crazy world. I met Tavi²⁰, and I told her everything I knew, and she did the same in turn. Took me to… Do some reading. And I worked with Jesse in fan-projects and junk. We talked, we laughed, had our fun. But now… Even if they do voice me again, I won't be able to talk to them, because of stupid, sadistic, awful Essie P! Now I can never talk to one of my best friends again! [EXPLETIVE]!

SCP-XXXX-1: (SCP-XXXX-1 doesn't respond, breathing sounds notably labored)

SCP-XXXX-7: … Look, I'm sorry. I know that a lot of what you guys do is important, stopping the apocalypse and all, and I definitely shouldn't be yelling at you. You're just doing your job. But we have to both remember that the Foundation's world isn't like ours. Some worlds are black and white. Others are… Grey.

SCP-XXXX-1: Black… White… Grey.

SCP-XXXX-7: Yeah. Black, white, grey.

Incident-XXXX-A: On ██//██ /11, a new SCP-XXXX instance, referred to as SCP-XXXX-A, was discovered. Standard protocols were enacted, leading the Foundation to discover that the instance was an anart project of the GOI "Are We Cool Yet?" Upon learning this information, the now-defunct EXTRA protocol was enacted²¹. Upon completion of protocol, all documentation describing SCP-XXXX-A directly (alias, appearance, personality, former SCP classification, etc.) obtained a cognitohazardous effect, referred to as SCP-XXXX-A-1, making it impossible for Foundation agents that did not inhabit the program to access documentation regarding it. This includes initial containment, interviews, and item description. Effects also spread through infected subjects' verbal and written communication that includes phrases altered by SCP-XXXX-A-1. The following note was found on the desk of Dr. ████ ██████, who had the EXTRA protocol instated, the day after the discovery of SCP-XXXX-A-1.

Following removal of SCP-XXXX-A, a non-anomalous version of the character began to gain popularity online under a different name. Fans claimed it was a fan-made character made as a joke, purporting it to be from an episode of the program that never came to air due to the new name of SCP-XXXX-A. Because of this, as well as the fact that SCP-XXXX-A-1 doesn't effect civilian populations, a cover story was deemed unnecessary. However, content involving the character is to be avoided by personnel due to fan depictions still containing its anomalous effects.

The effects of SCP-XXXX-A-1 seem to have no effect on individuals that don't have an affiliation with the Foundation a normalcy-upholding organization such as the Foundation, the Global Occult Coalition, or the Unusual Investigations Unit. D-Class, civilians, persons related to those susceptible but are not active personnel and various persons of interest are immune to the effects. Subjects infected will have their vernacular altered to be similar to language used on the program in all forms of communication, including documentation of other SCPs. SCP-XXXX-A effects dissipate after approximately 1 month, but written and recorded documentation will continue to be a spread for SCP-XXXX-A indefinitely. Notable effects include, but are not limited to;

• The phrases "everyone," "anybody" and other similar terms being replaced with "everypony," "anypony" and other equivalents.
• Profanity being replaced with "clean" equivalents ("What the Hell," for example, becomes "what the hay").
• References to the Abrahamic faiths²³ being replaced with references to the program's "in-universe" royalty. References to God will be replaced interchangeably with "Princess Celestia" and "Princess Luna."²⁴ References to prophets of said faiths (such as the prophets Mohammed of the Quran and Jonas of all three primary faiths) will be replaced with references to the main characters of the program, including FA Pie.²⁵

SCP-XXXX-A-1 is reportedly still present in the program, and is currently being monitored by both SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-6. Any reports on their behavior is to be kept within the confines of the program, and handled by the "Equestrian" government.

Addendum: Contrary to earlier theories, the "setting" of the program continues to exist after the program had officially ended 06/29/19. Despite the final episode taking place in the far future, the temporal placement remained the same in communications with the Foundation.Whether or not this is due to the show's popularity is unclear. To ensure future study of the program's inhabitants, including SCP-XXXX instances, as well as the preservation of the preferred environment of SCP-XXXX-1, FA Pie and SCP-XXXX-6, popularity of the program in online spaces and Foundation circles are to be upheld. This is for in the event that the existence of "Equestria" is linked to its popularity.

On 08/01/20, the new government headed by "Princess Twilight Sparkle" became aware of the existence of the Foundation, the UIU, and other various GOIs upon questioning of Field Agent Pie.²⁶ The following documentation was recovered by SCP-XXXX-1, with the UIU receiving a similar letter from SCP-XXXX-6.

Dear "The Foundation,"

Our good friend Pinkie has brought to our attention that you have been monitoring our kingdom from a realm different from our own for years, and to you we are just a story told for foals and fillies and enjoyed by colts and mares. You are also from a world of humans not used to handling magic, focusing primarily on the sciences. And when you do find something magical, you attempt to hide it until you can recreate it. Then, you rename it science. That's our understanding, at least. We can't say we entirely agree with this plan, but we don't find anything wrong with it. I hope you handle these matters ethically, or at least as ethical as you can. Judging by your slogan, "we die in the dark so you can live in the light," you view it as a noble and dangerous mission.

We write in asking for cooperation. We are founding our own organization, to help "secure," "contain" and, perhaps most importantly, protect that which you would consider "anomalous" or strange. We are calling it "The Written Royals' Society," and it will be shared publicly with our subjects. We're willing to work with a multitude of different organizations in hopes of finding a middle ground between all your purported goals. One where all our worlds can be kept intact from the many dangers, but also where the strange and magical is allowed to thrive in a safe way. It will be a difficult needle to thread, but one that we are more than willing to go through with. Our slogan will be "we suffer in Twilight so you can Sparkle in sunlight." It has a good ring to it in my our opinion.

What we ask for in return is technological and cultural information. We here at Canterlot castle are eager to learn about the worlds we shall be communicating with in the future, and advancing our own society in the process. We have already made contact with groups such as the Wanderer's Library to achieve this goal. In exchange, while we aren't certain our magic is equivalent to yours or not, we can still provide both educational and recreational reading material from our own world. Our "show" is apparently cancelled, and we're assuming that means we aren't going to cause too much trouble if our world gets all this advanced stuff at a fast rate. If something does happen and our current world is known to the world, just dismiss it as fan-fiction! We assume you have that.

One final thing. Concerning our "pataphysical" nature, we personally don't believe our world is pure fiction. We think our world is as real as yours, and just as rich and vibrant. At worst, it's like a painting being given life. It becomes real. But if we're wrong, and this world is "fake," then our world has an advantage over yours still. We know what our purpose is, and it is a most noble one. To spread the magic of friendship and teamwork. To induce laughter, and to entertain. To make the worlds that see us become that much better for having us with them. We have always had this as our goal (well, maybe not literally that last one but it's still true in spirit), but if we are a fiction then it is our purpose as well. And we are more than willing to help you have these goals completed for your world, with all the benefits those goals imply.
