Item #: SCP-4876
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4876 is to be locked in a 4 m x 4 m x 4 m titanium
containment chamber. Weekly metal polishing is mandatory for the continued containment of SCP-4876 and SCP-4876-2. Personnel are not to enter SCP-4876's containment cell at any time, unless testing procedures are underway. SCP-4876-2's containment chamber is to be locked at all times.
Description: SCP-4876 is a 1.83 meter tall oak wood door with a small golden knob built into a concrete wall. A portrait of a man is left hanging from a nail in the wall. The plaque below the portrait reads, "Jonathan Atticus". All attempts to remove said painting have resulted in failure. The nail it is hanging from appears to be adhered to it. This "Jonathan Atticus" is presumed to be the previous owner of the door.
SCP-4876, when opened, appears to lead to a short corridor with another identical door at the end. When the door is opened, SCP-4876 shuts. Any attempt to open the door results in the knob reportedly being sleek and slippery to the touch, unable to be properly gripped. Attempts to open the door from the outside report in success, but the subject is not anywhere inside. Behind the second door is the exact same hallway. Opening the door at the end causes the previous door to close. This cycle repeats an immeasurable amount of times, with no conceivable end.
SCP-4876 is occasionally seen opening on its own, without any personnel influence. A creature refered to as SCP-4876-2 will emerge if the door is not immediately closed. SCP-4876-2 is a humanoid creature covered in what appears to be an extremely dark, purple, gelatinous substance. Three (3) orifices are located on what appears to be the head of the entity. These are presumed to be SCP-4786's eyes. Whether SCP-4786 can see, hear, or sense anything is unknown.
SCP-4876-2 is completely docile. However, its surface material is highly acidic and can melt down to the subcutaneous layer of the skin, leaving it charred and pitch black. This substance seems to drip off of SCP-4876-2 at random intervals with no clear pattern. These secretions are observed to melt partially through the containment cell floor. Heavy duty metal polish is required in order to get the burns out.
SCP-4876-2 can be terminated, or at least dissolved, through the use of water. However, it has to be soaked into an object which then comes in contact with SCP-4876-2. Later instances of SCP-4876-2 after termination of one (1) have been confirmed to be the same entity. It has been noted that there are possibly infinite copies of these creatures inside of SCP-4876, and that some may not be as docile at this one; consult SCP-4876 Expedition Log B. Other instances of SCP-4876-2 have been proven to be more hostile than the ones emerging from SCP-4876.
Additional Notes: SCP-4876 was discovered in an abandoned apartment building in ███, MI. It came to the attention of the foundation due to the large numbers of teenager disappearances. The teenagers we're last seen sneaking into the building at night, most likely with the intent of vandalism. The wall it was attached to was torn out of the building and moved to Site-███. At the moment, █ explorations of SCP-4876 have been conducted. ██ Class D personnel have disappeared when entering SCP-4876. Further testing required.
