Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a 5 x 5 meter containment chamber lined with 2 meters of thick, reinforced steel at all faces of its chamber. Additionally, the entrance to SCP-XXXX's containment chamber is a large, 10 x 8 meter vault door with 3 meters of thick, reinforced steel to accompany it. The vault door may only be opened manually via three different combination codes and the vault handle in the direct center of the door. The door is to be sealed upon entry or exit of any Foundation personnel.

Due to the nature of SCP-XXXX, as well as past containment breaches involving it, absolutely no recording equipment, visual or auditory, should be directly linked to the camera feed. All recording equipment must be wirelessly linked and streamed to the appropriate monitors and is to be placed within two parallel corners of the containment chamber. Additionally, all electronic devices must be kept away from SCP-XXXX's containment chamber at all times.

Additionally, in the event of a containment breach by SCP-XXXX, the corridor leading to its containment chamber is to be locked down via Gating Process Delta-XII, in which after approximately 15 seconds, three gates of 2 meter thick steel will close down for approximately one hour, in order to halt, or at least slow down, SCP-XXXX's breach.

At least six Clearance Level 4 Personnel are to be monitoring SCP-XXXX's containment chamber at all times, both internally and externally in order to prevent further breaches. Any test or research that is to be conducted must be approved by four out of the six Clearance Level 4 Personnel and must not be done during SCP-XXXX's 'active' state.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a small, unremarkable electronic device of approximately 13 x 7 x 4 cm of size, with a grayish purple hue on all sides. The frontal face of SCP-XXXX consists of one screen, one directional pad and three buttons mapped together. Additionally, a switch to turn the device on and off is displayed on the side, albeit it is non-functional.

SCP-XXXX lies in a dormant state for at least twenty-three hours per day and activates at a random hour of every day for approximately one hour. Upon activation, the screen will begin to brighten and a chiptune is heard from approximately five meters away. Once active, an entity, hereby designated SCP-XXXX-1, emerges from the screen of the device.

SCP-XXXX-1 is a bipedal humanoid male, approximately 1.7 meters tall and appearing at least 60 years in age, and is described by researchers to have brown hair and green eyes, and additionally wearing a white researcher coat, black pants and brown shoes. SCP-XXXX-1 appears to be holographic in nature and tests have also shown that it is intangible to any non-electronic or technological object.

The anomalous effects of SCP-XXXX-1 occur when it completely leaves SCP-XXXX. Upon leaving, SCP-XXXX-1 will produce an effect similar to an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) that persists for the duration of its active state. The range of the effect is approximately 3 meters radius. This will cause a malfunction in any nearby device it begins to approach. Upon coming into contact with an electronic device, SCP-XXXX-1 will begin to disappear into it and exit another device that is linked to it at random. The devices that SCP-XXXX-1 come into contact with will completely malfunction and are to be replaced.

After approximately one hour, SCP-XXXX-1 will begin to disappear and return to SCP-XXXX. During this phase, SCP-XXXX-1's electromagnetic pulse-like properties will begin to increase in range for approximately five seconds before completely disappearing.

Addendum: The speed at which SCP-XXXX-1 travels from point A to point B is unable to be observed completely due to multiple inconsistent variables, but estimates have been given that it travels from one area to another within at least two seconds from its original destination. However, due to the nature of SCP-XXXX-1, all tests must be recorded in Testing Site-19.

Addendum: SCP-XXXX-1 has a nametag upon its coat, and has been observed to read 'Dr. Gale'. No known record of a 'Dr. Gale' exists within Foundation or government records.
