Item #: SCP-3XXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Foundation webcrawler November-19 ("Little Grey Cell") is tasked with identifying and recording potential instances of SCP-3XXX. Any examples flagged by November-19 are to be examined by SCP-3XXX research personnel in order to positively identify it as an SCP-3XXX instance. Research into preventing SCP-3XXX, predicting its appearances prior to its occurrence, or identifying a potential source for it are ongoing.

Description: SCP-3XXX designates a series of 74 murders committed world wide since 1957. All instances of SCP-3XXX took place in almost identical circumstances, and involved persons with extremely similar personalities and histories. Researchers for the Department of Analytics have determined that the likelihood of SCP-3XXX occurring without anomalous interference1 is small enough to warrant Foundation attention.

All instances of SCP-3XXX have involved two persons, (Victim 1 and Victim 2) being found dead of stab wounds, and a third person (Accused) being tried and given the maximum sentence for the crime.2 The Accused is found guilty based on:

  • The murder weapon found at the scene of Victim 2's death, which is identified as belonging to the Accused
  • The Accused having found out that the Victims were involved in a sexual relationship, despite Victim 1 having been involved with the Accused for two years before hand.
  • Being seen by several witnesses arguing with Victim 1 in a public place one week before the murder.
  • Physically assaulting Victim 2 three days prior to the murder.
  • Being seen by at least three witnesses near the scenes of both murders at the approximate time of death.
  • Lacking a verifiable alibi
  • Wounds consistent with evidence at the site of Victim 2's death, including a black eye at a missing tooth.
  • Having a history of criminal behavior.

The two victims of SCP-3XXX and the accused have always had histories and personalities which match in both generalities and details. The witnesses involved in the case are more varied, but will often witness the events leading up to SCP-3XXX under similar circumstances.3 Provided are a list of major qualities. This list is by no means comprehensive. For a full list, consult Document 3XXX-2.

  • Victim 1 is a twenty-seven year old female who was engaged in a romantic relationship with the Accused for two years prior to SCP-3XXX. She was raised by her mother, had no siblings, and is described by friends as a being non-confrontational and weak-willed. Prior to SCP-3XXX, Victim 1 begins a relationship with Victim 2, and attempts to end her relationship with the Accused. Victim 1 is found dead in her car at 2130, having been dead for 15 minutes at that point. Victim 1 is found with three stab wounds in her chest. The angle of these wound indicates the killer was standing up while she was sitting down, presumably meaning the killer was outside the car.
  • Victim 2 is a twenty-seven year old male who was involved in criminal activity with the Accused. The exact nature of the type of crime varies by time period. Victim 2 was raised by both parents, has one older sibling, and is described as a generally friendly and good person. Victim 2 begins a relationship with Victim 1 two months before SCP-3XXX. Victim 2 is found dead in his bathroom, having died of exsanguination as a result of a cut throat. Victim 2 is apparently able to struggle with his attacker, and his knuckles are cut, suggesting he cut them while hitting his attacker's teeth. A knife or knife-like weapon4 known to have belonged to the Accused is found next to him.
  • The Accused is a twenty-nine year old male involved in criminal activity with Victim 2 and in a relationship with Victim 1. The Accused has a history of violent behavior, including an assault and battery charge. Several friends of Victim 1 believe he might have been physically or emotionally abusive of her, though no evidence of this has been found. The Accused discovers the Victim's relationship one week prior to SCP-3XXX occurring, argues with and threatens Victim 1 in a public place, threatens and assaults Victim 2, and is unable to provide a verifiable alibi for either his whereabouts at the time of the murder or injuries he sustained at that time. The Accused is also known to have owned the weapon found next to Victim 2.

Currently, no connections between any participants in SCP-3XXX are known. No civilian crime investigation organizations have discovered SCP-3XXX. No reliable method of detecting SCP-3XXX before the murders has been discovered. Personnel with theories on the source of SCP-3XXX can submit them to Head Researcher Dr. Kourang Turabi.
