Special Containment Procedures: Site-77 has been erected in the surrounding area of SCP-XXXX. A constantly surveillanced perimeter has been established 30 meters outside SCP-XXXX. Highly sensitive audio recording software have also been installed along the perimeter and with varying ranges in accordance to SCP-XXXX's structure. If said recording software pick up any sound that originates from the inside of SCP-XXXX protocol "Broken Silence" should be immediately put into action and on site MTF Theta-77 "Deaf Legionaries" should be given site control including the discretion to detonate the on-site explosive.

Description: SCP-XXXX is made up of two entities dubbed SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-01

SCP-XXXX is farmhouse on the outskirts of [DATA REDACTED], Wyoming that is in poor to moderate upkeep. SCP-XXXX anomalous properties do not manifest until a subject enters the house through any of the three known entry points . Upon entry to SCP-XXXX subject(s) will notice a shift in air pressure similar to a rise in elevation. But the true anomalous property is the fact that no sound can be heard inside SCP-XXXX, this is despite the air conditions being no different than the area surrounding the house. All vocalizations or other sounds that should be present are rendered mute or unperceivable to the ear of humans, dogs, avians that have flow inside SCP-XXXX, and several other animals with varying degrees of hearing. These have included bats, voles, other burrowing rodents, the jerboa, and several species of moth. All have not responded to sound as they did outside of SCP-XXXX, instead they respond as they are completely deaf. It is currently unknown how SCP-XXXX achieves this anomalous effect, but the leading theory is that some aspect of the home blocks the mind to perceive sound. recording software leads to similar effect picking up no sound, however live radios can broadcast sound but sound received is also rendered mute. This allows for some form of communication during exploration attempts. Thus adding further mettle to the idea that SCP-XXXX causes a mental block instead of stopping sound all together. Further research into the matter has been requested along with an MRI to test the proposed the theory by site director [DATA REDACTED]. SCP-XXXX follows the traditional layout of a farmhouse built in the early 1930's, consisting of a main level with a dining room, kitchen, one bathroom, and small bedroom. There is a second level consisting of two bedrooms and a small attic space that has yet to be fully explored. The least charted area of the house is a storm cellar that can only be accessed from an outside entrance or a loose floorboard on the main floor. All attempted exploration into the storm cellar has resulted in massive causalities and all future exploration attempts must be cleared by the on-site director or a member with level 4 clearance or higher.

At some points an entity that has now been cataloged as SCP-XXXX-01 will manifest on any of the three floors. These manifestations have no indications as to why they occur, but there is some coloration with the entrance of foundation personal or any living entity into the storm cellar. SCP-XXXX-01 seems to be a member of the canine family but enlarged to point of exceeding 2 meters in length and 1 meter in height with a thick layer of fur made of an unknown composition that renders 01 completely bulletproof (refer to exploration log XXXX-01), it also has no discernible breed or species but most closely resembles the common grey wolf (Canis lupus). Despite other forms of life not being able to perceive sound inside SCP-XXXX, 01 seems to have functions to not only hear sound normally but also vocalize its own sound. These sounds are usually described as low monotone growls, but 01 can also produce a secondary sound this has been described as similar to the howl of wolf. This secondary sound renders most humans into a state of extreme dread and terror that can leaves permanent psychological damage on a victim. 01 is extremely hostile to all forms of life, especially entities that enter the storm cellar. It's canine-like biology has given it large jaws that have been able to easily crush bones along with large teeth that can saw through flesh without any resistance. Despite this extreme hostility 01 has never been recorded consuming any of its victims and its is currently unknown if it needs to feed at all. It is also unknown how 01 manifests and to date no attempts to record a manifestation of SCP-XXXX-01 has been successful. 01 will also never leave the confines of SCP-XXXX and will dematerialize at a unknown point after all entities that have entered SCP-XXXX have been killed or have left SCP-XXXX.

Exploration Logs and Findings

After being discovered in the summer of [DATA REDACTED], SCP-XXXX was cleared for exploration by Senior Researcher Dalton. MTF Theta-80 "Homewreckers" were commissioned after multiple tests were done to determine SCP-XXXX anomalous properties. 01 had only been sighted once at this point in time when a bird flew into the storm cellar while foundation personal were doing an expedition with an unmanned drone.

T80-Ramirez: Alright boys mic check.

T80-Ramirez: Alright guys this place is weird, we won't have any comms while were in there and we won't be able to hear shit, so stay frosty and safeties off.

T80-2: Any hostiles we should be worried about chief?

T80-Ramirez- Site-command?

Site Command: There is only one known hostile entity, it resembles a large grey wolf. We don't have full details on its capabilities but it has been deemed to be highly dangerous and should be dealt with extreme caution

T80-2: Roger command

Site Command: Since we can't have an open dialogue while you are in there we want you to state things you seen in the cellar when you see them, almost narrating your own action.

T80-Ramirez: Alright guys you got that?

T80-1: Ya ya talk to ourselves when we see weird shit, got it.

(MTF enters SCP-XXXX via the front door)

T80-1: What the fuck. This is fucked, I can't hear shit.

(T80-Ramirez signals to the team to follow him and they enter the kitchen)

T80-Ramirez: The path to the cellar is right here.

(Ramirez removes floorboard and the team descend into the storm cellar)

T80-Ramirez: Dark down here nothing so far though.

T80-2: This is a huge cellar I cant see any of the walls.

T80-1: It's like a fucking cave down here no light at all.

(MTF walks around for several minutes without any new advancements)

T80-Ramirez: I see something ahead looks like a table with a candle on it.

T80-1: Holy shit a fucking table, were rich.

(Entire team reacts to something)

T80-1: The fuck was that, I heard something, I thought we weren't supposed to hear stuff.

T80-Ramirez: We have confirmation on a sound down here.

T80-2: I think I see something. Its further down the cellar. I thinks its a pair of eyes.

(All comms with the team went dead for 3 minutes after this radio silence only T80-1 radio was re-established)

T80-1: (Audibly crying) I don't what the fuck you sent me down here to get but Ramirez and Shaw are fucking dead. "Resembles a grey wolf" its the size of a fucking car! Bullets didn't do shit, it ripped Shaw in fucking half. I just fucking ran. I don't know what this cellar is either cause it doesn't fucking end, I just keep coming back to this fucking table. I know its near me, I can't hear anything but it. It's growls and that fucking howl. Its not a just howl, its (T80-1 begins to cry again), I'm gonna die here and I can't even hear my own voice.

(Communication with the team then went completely dead. An unmanned drone expedition confirmed the deaths of all members of Theta-80, but could not locate the table that they had mentioned during their expedition)

After multiple unmanned expedition attempts were unsuccessful in relocating the table in the storm cellar it was hypothesized that only humans can locate and interact with the table. So on-site director [DATA REDACTED] cleared a manned expedition into the cellar. All members sent into SCP-XXXX were given flares to illuminate the cellar and flash-bangs to stun 01. MTF Omega-6 "Sole Survivors" were commissioned to carry out the expedition.

Site Command: Alright Talbot can you run a mic check we want to make sure your radios are broadcasting correctly

O6-Talbot: Sure thing command, mic check guys.

O6-Peterson: Check.

Site Command: Alright your first objective is to locate the table in the cellar, when you do locate the table take pictures of any items you find and send them back to command. If you can carry any items found also bring them back to command. You are then to immediately return to the base. When inside state anything you see as you wont be able to hear us this will allow for some form of communication

O6-Talbot: Lovely a quick little in and out into the wack house with no sound.

O6-Peterson: Isn't there some big wolf that tore the fuck outta the last MTF.

O6-Hardy: Yeah some of the guys back on site said that thing is bulletproof too.

Site Command: The entity you are describing is known as 01, It has proven to be bulletproof and extremely hostile. If encountered you are to use the flash-bangs provided and immediately attempt to leave SCP-XXXX.

O6-Talbot: Nothing we're not used to boys.

O6-Peterson: First a bulletproof crocodile now a wolf that we can't hear, what's next a bulletproof gorilla with a katana?

O6-Hardy: Naw that'd be too easy for us the gorilla would also have to be invisible.

O6-Talbot: Alright command we're heading in.

(The team enter directly through the storm cellar entrance)

O6-Talbot: alright I'm popping one of my flares.

O6-Hardy: Shit this place is like a cavern, looks like it goes for at least another hundred feet.

(The team continue for several minutes without any new findings)

O6-Peterson: I got eyes on the table

(Peterson signals to the rest of the team)

O6-Talbot: Alright command we are at the table

O6-Hardy: this place is so weird I can't even hear my own heart beat.

O6-Talbot: OK command the only items on the table are a small leather-bound book and candles, taking pictures and sending them now.

O6-Talbot: Alright lets head back boys

(entire team reacts to something)

O6-Hardy: What the actual fuck was that.

O6-Peterson: Fuck I got eyes on 01

(Peterson tosses his flash-bang and the MTF attempts to escape)

O6-Talbot: I really hope this thing isn't fast

(Both Talbot and Hardy discharge their flash-bangs in the escape)

O6-Hardy:Holy shit I see the entrance

(All members of O6 resurface and re-establish communication with command)

O6-Peterson: I actually thought that thing was gonna catch us

O6-Talbot: That howl, or what ever it is, I keep hearing it.

O6-Hardy: Howl I didn't hear anything but grunts and shit from that thing.

O6-Peterson: Same, you sure you heard it howl cap?

(Talbot begins to cry)

O6-Talbot I hear it, I can't hear anything but it, over and over.

O6-Hardy: Cap chill we're out.

Site Command: Good job team, bring Talbot and the findings back to site, we'll run a psych exam on him to figure out what's wrong with him.

O6-Hardy: Roger command, alright Talbot we're gonna-

(At this point 01 leaped out of the cellar entrance and a began to howl towards the moon, all on site personal that were able to hear the howl which exceeded 180 decibels were rendered into a catatonic state. 01 proceeded to maul Talbot to death and retrieve the journal. It then returned to SCP-XXXX)

Due to the disastrous outcome of this expedition all further manned exploration attempts were vetoed by the O-5 council. The only helpful information outside of the pictures Talbot took was the fact that 01's howl cannot effect people who already completely deaf. This was ascertained by the fact that the only member of personal that was not effected by the effects of the howl was Montreaz Williams a janitor that had been deaf since birth due to Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. This lead to the creation of Mobile Task Force Theta-77 "Deaf Legionaries" a group of elite soldiers that are all completely deaf, this means if 01 ever leaves SCP-XXXX the site will still be able to execute "Broken Silence"

James never stops crying, all through the night and day he cries, and cries and cries. The Wellars don't seem to mind it at all. They just send me off to work. They even offered to look after James when I'm working. The stuff they make me do is strange, not normal farming things. They don't own any crops or animals, they just make me go out to forest and set traps all day. I never get see if I catch anything cause they always send their son out at dusk to check them and bring em back. James is crying again so that's all for now.

I found out what the Wellars are doing with what they catch. Last night my curiosity got the better of me and I followed the boy out into the woods. The only thing that got caught was a rabbit, the boy went into the trap and picked up the rabbit. the thing was still alive while he brought it back. I saw him take that thing down into the cellar. I was really interested but James began to cry so I went to deal with him. Tomorrow I'll find out what happens in that cellar.

The cellar has two entrances the one they always use the one outside, but there's also a way to get to it through a floorboard in the kitchen. I used the one in the kitchen, there is nothing normal about that cellar. It's huge and dark and silent. I walked around for what felt like hours until a found them. the entire family stood around a table, with a raccoon with its neck slashed. The poor thing was still twitching while they stood around chanting something. I was terrified, but in some ways it smoothing, the silence, the space, the dark.

This document was created after the events following the second manned exploration attempted by the foundation.

Protocol "Broken Silence" was devised to deal with an event where 01 leaves the premises of SCP-XXXX, all components of the protocol are based of facts that are currently known about 01 any and all changes made to the protocol must be cleared by three level 4 or higher personal.

• MTF Theta-77 "Deaf Legionaries" are to immediately be placed in charge of Site-77 and all members are temporally given level 4 clearance, this allowing them to detonate the on-site explosive if need be
• Due to the only known way to incapacitate 01 being large volumes light Site-77 have been installed with military grade floodlights that can be activated by a personal with level 4 clearance or higher.
• After research into the term "Beast Within" foundation personnel were able to connect the phrase to a cult known as "The Clawed Hand of Humanity". The cult has been linked to many previous events of lycanthropy that the foundation have dealt with before. Due to the possibility that 01 could be a werewolf all members of MTF Theta-77 have been outfitted with silver tipped bullets and UV light projectors. It should be known that all of these findings are unconfirmed.

Protocol "Broken Silence" is merely a new set of containment procedures if 01 ever leaves the premises of SCP-XXXX these explained below.

Special Containment Procedures: It is currently unknown if 01 is able to be contained andshould be treated as an extreme threat to humanity if it does breach containment. If 01 does ever leave SCP-XXXX, MTF Theta-77 "Deaf Legionaries" is to attempt to eliminate 01 at all costs. If all attempts to eliminate 01 fail, Theta-77 is detonate the on-site explosive. If this also fails to terminate 01 it should buy time for the foundation to re-evaluate 01 and find a way to either contain or terminate 01.
