SCP-XXXX in dormant state
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: The specimen is to be submerged in saltwater inside a lead or non corrosive case inside its cell. The case must be constantly monitored by cameras inside, cameras in its cell, and no less than 3 personnel. Any notable activity of SCP-XXXX is to be logged. If any scientist must investigate SCP-XXXX, the inspection must be permitted by an O-5 council member. The person(s) inspecting SCP-XXXX are required be wearing a complete Level-A hazmat suit and be sterilized after exposure. In the duration of the inspection, all other subjects in SCP-XXXX's containment zone must have their doors locked airtight. If a staff member is infected by SCP-XXXX, they are to be terminated using poison gases such as sarin or VX.
If SCP-XXXX exits its case at any time, its containment cell is automatically flooded by sarin gas. No more than 2 minutes later, the entire containment zone is to be flooded with sarin gas. Other anomalies' doors are not to be opened, and any cell doors opened during the lockdown are to remain open. Said cycle is not to be stopped to await the escape of any personnel.
Description: SCP-XXXX is contagious and aggressive. The anomaly's size and length varies upon appetite. The worm-like body of SCP-XXXX is long, pearl colored and is coated in a thick mucous. The subject's face has no visible eyes, ears, or nostrils. The subject also has shown to have neither a coelom, nor any organ systems deemed necessary for other organisms. Despite the lack of any organ systems, a test done on SCP-XXXX shows it is completely comprised of grey matter. A mouth is visible, comprised of 2 circular rows of 0.5 millimeter long teeth. SCP-XXXX is able to attack prey using an acid duct found on the bottom aft, which secretes a strong, caustic liquid nerve agent.
SCP-XXXX's behaviour and abilities are highly sporadic and unpredictable. SCP-XXXX is often agitated by any presence of personnel, despite not having the usual sensual organs. The organism often feigns death, often misleading personnel to believe expiration has occurred. Physical contact with the subject often ends in paralysis of the one who came into contact. The mucous coating the entity has additionally been found to be potentially poisonous. The subject, upon feeding, has been shown to suffocate organisms dependent on gills by covering the victim in its thick mucous layer. Subject's behaviour is robotic, and will by ant means attempt to reproduce asexually.
Addendum: The following log is a result of D-████ entering its cell. It is unknown what structure SCP-XXXX had used to produce sound.
Incident XXXX.1: As of █/██/██, SCP-XXXX duplicates has been discovered outside of containment, all persons exposed to oceanic saltwater are to be temporarily quarantined and examined.
