Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Foundation personnel are to incinerate all mold patches on SCP-XXXX-1 on a daily basis. While unnecessary at the moment, the containment unit has been modified to be airtight in case the mold develops spores.

Description: SCP-XXXX is the collective designation of two related anomalies, SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2, weighing a combined weight of approximately 8000 kilograms.

SCP-XXXX-1 is a 1.2 meter tall statue of a hairless Rhesus macaque with a furious expression on its face. The statue has not been observed to be damaged by anything except SCP-XXXX-2. Analysis of SCP-XXXX-1 fragments have not yielded conclusive explanations for this phenomenon.

Patches of anomalous brown mold has been observed to grow rapidly on SCP-XXXX-1's surface. The mold replicates exponentially without the need for a food source. Within several hours, the patches of mold will fall off the statue and begin resembling fetuses. If allowed to continually grow, individual clumps of mold will resemble macaques and become autonomous entities. After approximately three days, these entities will cease growth, but demonstrate sapience. To date, the only reliable method of destroying mold growth is through incineration. As of this article's writing, it has not been determined if the mold releases spores upon maturing. Regardless, cautionary measures have been implemented in the event that such an event would occur.

SCP-XXXX-2 is an incredibly dense iron rod measuring roughly 4 meters long that has been forced through SCP-XXXX-1's abdomen at a declined angle. The item is heavily damaged, sporting a large amount of cracks and scratches across its shaft, as well as significant rusting. At random intervals, the item will enlarge or shrink, often damaging SCP-XXXX-1 should the item expand too large. Despite this, the object has not fallen out of SCP-XXXX-1 as of this writing.

Addendum XXXX-1: A proposal was submitted by Dr. Hou in order to determine whether SCP-XXXX-2 was anomalously fixed to SCP-XXXX-1 or if it could potentially be removed from SCP-XXXX-1 for study.

After being approved by the site director, a series of attempts to remove SCP-XXXX-2 were performed, ranging from using cranes to anomalous technology. Although cranes were capable moving the anomaly as a whole, they were unable to separate the two anomalies from one another. In every attempt, SCP-XXXX-2's size would fluctuate, either forcing engineers to readjust their equipment, or shrinking too small to be held by equipment. Paratechnology was similarly unable to remove the item from SCP-XXXX-1.

A new proposal has been submitted by Dr. Hou, who suggested aggravating SCP-XXXX-2 through continued testing in order to trigger an increased amount of size fluctuations, with the intent that the item would eventually carve a large enough hole in SCP-XXXX-1 to fall out. As of this writing, the revision is still being reviewed by the site director, but Dr. Hou has been permitted to continue testing with the remainder of the funding provided by the initial proposal.

Addendum XXXX-2: Dr. Hou has been been put into containment and is tentatively designated as SCP-XXXX-3.
