(I thought it would be cool if there was another one of those picture heavy SCPs because I really like the ones that differ from the normal SCP style. It might sound a little bit silly, but hopefully it interests some people :>)
SCP-XXXX are stick figure drawings of humanoids, that will appear anytime a document mentions SCP-XXXX. (Maybe they can have a certain name?) Their size is about 7 letters tall (In standard text size in the wiki, not sure how many pixels is that). Each of them has a tag written on them consisting of 3 numbers or letters to be able to tell them apart. They can move around the document (Any kind of document, printed or digital) and can jump across to different documents. (This one I will elaborate soon, but think of it like, if you put paper close to each other they will jump across. Maybe even can be transferred/downloaded as a file)
SCP-XXXX has the ability to alter information written in it, by "destroying" it (Imagine them bringing little things like a baseball bat and hitting the text like its made of glass or maybe bringing a can of paint and painting all over the text :>). Though for them to actually do anything to said information, there needs to be someone instructing them to do so, otherwise they're passive. SCP-XXXX communicates through speech bubbles, and can be spoken with by writing text or drawing pictures on the document it is on.
Once one SCP-XXXX enters a document containing information, they immediately store that information (separately, not like a hivemind) and cannot forget it unless it (that one SCP-XXXX) is destroyed. (Maybe they can also read what is redacted and what is unaccessible) To destroy SCP-XXXX, the document it is on has to be destroyed.
No one other than (high security clearance level, 4?) can know about this SCP, to prevent its spread and incorrect use. They're contained inside one SCP document (printed), (perhaps locked in a box?) and no one is allowed to enter the place with anything containing important information.
Summary: Some stick figure drawings that can move around. They can collect and destroy information.
Story: I'm not quite sure about this one, but I'm thinking that this was originally made by an SCP that brings drawings to life (I do not know the number, or if it exists). Shady people use them to destroy or bring back private information, until they were reported to the Foundation and contained.
The foundation might also use them to protect certain documents from infohazards (i'm not quite sure about this one)
Another story would be that this SCP has caused several containment breaches. (I'm also not quite sure about this one yet)
Questions:
-This is probably going to be really hard to pull off… but would anyone be interested in a comic-book like SCP?
-Which one of the story ideas seem the most interesting?
Here is a rough draft of what they look like (Not the final picture, and I'm not an artist :v)
(If the design is a bit too cute for what they're made for, I'll change it)
(I haven't really developed this idea very well, so it's still pretty vague and all, but I'll try)
SCP-XXXX is a printer connected to a computer. There is a program open on the computer where you can ask it to print out anything you want it, anything at all, as long as there is enough paper inserted into the printer. The catch here is that, you don't know what it will do. It will either do as it says, completely refuse, give out something else completely random, or go [REDACTED]. Maybe it's a bit difficult to understand, so I'll try to explain it by giving an example:
Prompt typed in: Cats
Amount of Paper Inserted: 2It will do any of the following (randomly, there is no way of knowing):
1. Print out a perfectly normal article about cats, along with some pictures
2. A text appears on the computer "I'm not really in the mood, go away"
3. Prints out an article about dogs…
4. ERROR: NOT ENOUGH PAPER. INSERT THE AMOUNT OF PAPER: █████████████
5. Tissues and blood of a real cat That's just red colored syrup… but where did all that come from, and why does it smell like cat food…
I'm sorry for the unexciting example, but that's basically what it means… :>
Add. Notes: The printer plays practical jokes, but nothing that will deliberately hurt anyone. (So no it will not summon a nuclear warhead)
Summary: It's a very unhelpful printer that likes to play practical jokes.
Story: I'm not quite sure, I do want this to be something funny…
Questions: It seems like an anomalous item, and I feel something is missing. I wonder how I can make it a little bit more predictable (maybe so that other people can make test logs too?)
SCP-XXXX is an parasite that attaches themselves on a human, (will be called SCP-XXXX-2) and feeds on its minds (emotions) (maybe not just emotions, could be the human itself?). SCP-XXXX does not have a definite form. It differs between every SCP-XXXX-2, most of them taking the shape of something they love (like what a child would say, an "Imaginary Friend", so it can also take form of a previous/deceased loved one). SCP-XXXX can either be an image in their minds or as a voice. (Cannot be seen) SCP-XXXX usually attaches themselves on humans that have feelings that they are lonely, abandoned, not loved, etc. by those around them. SCP-XXXX will convince them that they are their "friend" and they will care about them more than anyone else. SCP-XXXX has a predatory technique where it releases a memetic effect that makes anyone who has previously known SCP-XXXX-2 to slowly forget about them. When a human is infected by SCP-XXXX, they will then develop the following stages:
Stage 1: Effects of SCP-XXXX is mild. SCP-XXXX-2 might feel slightly disorientated and confused, but SCP-XXXX's full effects are not fully visible and SCP-XXXX-2 can still (act normally, I do not know the clinical word for this)
Stage 2: Effects of SCP-XXXX is growing. SCP-XXXX-2 has difficulty socializing with others and they tend to remove themselves from conversations and prefer to be alone. Some are not even afraid to introduce SCP-XXXX-1 as their "new friend". Anyone who has known anyone being infected by SCP-XXXX-2 in this stage will have difficulty remembering them.
Stage 3: Effects of SCP-XXXX is very strong, as soon as any SCP-XXXX-2 enters this stage, they can no longer be reverted back to their original state. SCP-XXXX-2 will refuse to socialize with anyone or go outside their homes and will not speak about anyone else other than SCP-XXXX, and believe that SCP-XXXX is a real being. Anyone that has known SCP-XXXX-2 before will forget who they are.
Stage 4: SCP-XXXX has taken control of SCP-XXXX-2. At this stage, SCP-XXXX-2 will completely disappear from anyone's minds and memories.
The stages of SCP-XXXX-1 can take any time from around several days to several years. (The length depends on how SCP-XXXX-2 acts). The use of amnestics have been proven ineffective as it doesn't (do anything to) SCP-XXXX, (as the human mind and SCP-XXXX are separate beings). Terminating SCP-XXXX-2 will only cause SCP-XXXX to move to another target.
(I currently don't know how to contain this fully, because I'm not an expert at foundation tech, but these are some suggestions that I have so far)
1. As soon as SCP-XXXX-2 reaches Stage 3 (where the effects of SCP-XXXX are most visible), SCP-XXXX is to be (placed in a standard humanoid containment room) and is to be watched (all the time, to prevent any odd changes or disappearing). This is so that SCP-XXXX can stay as long as possible with SCP-XXXX-2 so it doesn't spread to anyone else. (Maybe also put a D-Class in the same room, so the parasite can spread to them?)
2. Place SCP-XXXX-2 in a cryo-freeze to freeze SCP-XXXX. (This is probably not the way, because it is unethical to do so?)
Summary: A parasite that comes to lonely people claiming to be their friend. You become attached to it and you then disappear…
Story: SCP-XXXX was originally found in (a school's name) where staff has found a couple of students and teachers in their records that do not exist. I can do either one of these:
1. The process of how the foundation discovers it is a parasite. Because it creates the memetic effect that makes it forget SCP-XXXX-2 and its invisible form, it would be difficult to determine it as a parasite immediately. (I could also make this a forgotten SCP, it was found a many years ago but it was forgotten because the team researching this SCP was infected and forgotten??)
2. Addendums containing diaries/journals of the missing students or teachers
Questions:
-I don't really know which one is the more effective story…
-Is this SCP still similar to another kind of SCP?
