Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5912 is to be kept in a 2x2x3 meter box made of three(3) inch thick steel. SCP-5912 is kept on the bottom floor of site 19, to be kept in the middle of its box, and no floors below it are to be made, and if they are; personnel should be at least 20 feet away.

Description: SCP-5912 is an ordinary curtain rod with heavy water damage. once any living being comes between SCP-5912 and the center of the nearest gravity source, such as a planet, they will drown immediately.
SCP-5912 was originally found in a two-story house in Phoenix AZ, without a basement, in an ordinary walk-in shower. all three of the residents were dead and inside the shower, and they died immediately. Two(2) Mobile Task Force died to the rod's effects. they secured and transported the curtain hanger to site 19, where it was contained and declared safe.

Addendum 5912-01: researcher note;
We had D-Class-1843 throw a living, and a dead sponge through the curtain's effective range and we have concluded that this process also affects sponges, but revives them if they have died, and hydrates the sponge. if the sponge is alive it dies, and hydrates. We are awaiting confirmation to continue testing with other water animals.

Addendum 5912-02:
a conveyor was made to cycle many living sponges through SCP-5912 to create about 1 million liters for a foundation containment chamber for a SCP-5911.
