If the suspect is inside some form of structure, such as shelter or a vehicle. Then the transformation will delay before going into full form. The transformation also seems to destroy the structure their victims are in, making them vigorous.

The roots of SCP-8942’s victims are their limbs and reproductive parts, other organ placements after the mutation are unable to find. But studies show that other organs are placed either inside the heart(stem) or underground with the limbs.
