Use of SCP-4943 for testing purposes can be requested. Researchers must agree to submit to pre and post content screenings prior to authorization. Use of SCP-4943 in this manner must be recorded and logged for review.

Description: SCP-4943 is a pair of bookends made in ██████, ██████████. The bookends are nearly identical, depicting a partial bust of play-write William Shakespeare. Both bookends are made out of lead, and are mostly coated in peeling gold paint.
SCP-4943 requires a bookshelf with at least 3 shelves, made of oak or opaque glass. SCP-4943's anomalous properties activate when one or more written materials are placed between each bookend while on the supplied bookshelf. Accepted materials included must be at least 5 pages in length, with at least 2 words. Once placed, the supplied materials are displaced, and an instance of SCP-4943-1 is generated. The instance then proceeds to sit down in the nearest chair, in the absence of a chair the instance will sit on the floor. It will then proceed to read aloud the materials provided.
SCP-4943-1 may take the form of well-known writers, preferring authors of longer novels or those with multiple, well-known works. Most instances take the form of William Shakespeare as depicted on the bookends.
Forms SCP-4943-1 has assumed include:
- William Shakespeare
- Mark Twain
- George RR Martin
- JK Rowling
- ████ ███████1
- Dr. T. █████████2

SCP-4943-1 speaks the language spoken by whomever supplied SCP-4943 with written materials using the voice and mannerisms of the person whose form it has taken. Instances of SCP-4943-1 respond to questions as long as they pertain to the materials given, and could be found or extrapolated from the materials given.
When SCP-4943-1 finishes reading, either by reaching the end or if the materials are taken, the instance will thank whoever supplied the materials for listening and promptly leave visual contact. Retrieved materials will subsequently include notes throughout the materials. Most tend to be subjective, though some are grammatical or spelling fixes.

| SCP-4943 document draft | Dr. T. █████████ | Basic grammar and spelling corrections as well as notes on improvements to current containment procedures. Left a note suggesting not to use Foundation materials in future tests. See Interview-4943-1 |
