Description:
SCP-XXXX is a parasitic relationship between a species of sentient hairbrushes and their human hosts. The hairbrush itself is designated SCP-XXXX-1, while their human hosts are designated SCP-XXXX-2. Dissections of expired specimens have shown that SCP-XXXX-1 instances are composed nearly entirely of PP and HDPE plastic. No sensory organs have been found during these dissections, and it is unknown how SCP-XXXX-1 find prey. However, sympathetic ganglion and neurons have been found running all throughout the body dissected SCP-XXXX-1 instances, in addition to a rudimentary digestive system, although there is a notable lack of a waste removal system.
Each SCP-XXXX-1 specimen has between 100-400 fully prehensile bristles. These bristles have been found to be extremely ductile, with testing with a amputated bristled showing that is was able to be stretched to an atomic wire. and are fully prehensile. SCP-XXXX-1 is capable of locomotion and moves using its bristles as advanced tube feet, like those seen in non-anomalyous sea stars, although much faster. SCP-XXXX-1 instances only locomote in this way if removed from their host, and are capable of living without a host indefinitely if in their dormant state. During their dormant state instances of SCP-XXXX-1 display no movement and appear to be a regular hairbrush. SCP-XXXX-1-33 has been in a dormant state since 1992.
Upon locating a patch of hair on a human that is at least 4 cm long, an SCP-XXXX-1 instance will attempt to access the patch of hair, and will insert its bristles through the centre of individual strands of hair, and through into the follicle and through the skin. Following this stage the SCP-XXXX-1 begins to extend its bristles through the blood vessels of the host. After 1 hour the SCP-XXXX-1 instance cannot be safely removed without being medically removed. After 1 week roughly one quarter of the hair of the host, localised around the body of SCP-XXXX-1 is prehensile and controlled by the SCP-XXXX-1 instance. At this stage the hair threaded with SCP-XXXX-1 bristles will dislodge and remove any debris present on the host. After 2 weeks the bristle network of SCP-XXXX-1 has spread far enough under the skin to exercise partial limb control of the SCP-XXXX-2 instance. After 5 weeks the SCP-XXXX-1 instance has total control of body of SCP-XXXX-2, and removal at this point is near impossible without killing the instance of SCP-XXXX-2.
