Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4301 is to be held in a steel lockbox within its cell, a 10 m x 10 m x 10 m room, constructed of steel-reinforced concrete. SCP-4301’s cell is to be kept under armed guard at all times, with its use only to be sanctioned by a site director or a Level-4 authorization. Use of SCP-4301 on any other SCP is absolutely forbidden without authorization from at least 3 members of the O5 Council.
D-class reproduced using SCP-4301 are to be administered Class-B amnestics, and are recommended not to be used in psychological experiments.
Description: SCP-4301 is a small silver necklace with a ██ carat Sapphire amulet attached to the band. When in a 5 m proximity to any sapient creature, the creature will have an overwhelming desire to put it on. This effect occurs in all cases, including ones in which the subject is not notified of SCP-4301’s presence.
When worn, the wearer, henceforth referred to as SCP-4301-1, begins to undergo a physical transformation. SCP-4301-1, after an indeterminate amount of time between three (3) minutes and ████ (█) days, will begin to clone itself via a form of budding. If taken off before Budding begins, the wearer suffers no ill effects. Budding, once initiated, cannot be halted by any non-lethal means. After approximately six (6) minutes an identical copy of SCP-4301-1 will have emerged from SCP-4301-1’s tissue. This individual, referred to as SCP-4301-2, retains a few memories from the life of SCP-4301-1, as well as basic personality traits.
SCP-4301-1 will continue its cycle of reproduction until SCP-4301 is removed, or its own termination. When removed, SCP-4301-1 suffers few ill effects, with the exception of any mental trauma from the budding process, which is described as excruciatingly painful. In addition, both SCP-4301-1 and SCP-4301-2 will undergo signs of a mild “withdrawal” for a variable period of time. Headaches, nausea, anger, and other such symptoms are common during this period. They will also express a desire to wear SCP-4301 again, despite their claims of the budding process being unbearably painful.
SCP-4301 was discovered 20 km North of █████████, Kentucky on 3/18/19██ by FBI agents investigating reports of ██████ ████████, an already incarcerated serial killer, having escaped. The individual was apprehended while wearing SCP-4301. After being taken in for questioning, the individual [REDACTED] resulting in its termination. The Foundation was immediately notified, and SCP-4301 was brought into custody.
SCP-4301 may be used to replicate D-class personnel, with Level-4 authorization, in the event of a shortage.
