Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a 3mx3m soundproofed containment chamber. The chamber shall contain a minimum of two high-sensitivity omnidirectional microphones, which shall be active at all times and connected to a standard audio-processing workstation located outside of the chamber. Audio recordings shall be checked daily for new emanations, which shall be transcribed to whatever extent possible. All recordings shall be logged and scanned for voiceprint analysis.
With the exception of D-Class test subjects, no personnel are to enter the containment chamber alone for any period of time without special authorization.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an acrylic resin tube measuring 30cm in length, with a diameter of 5cm. It is opaque and black in color. At the midpoint of the tube there is a 15mm hole, into which is fitted a red momentary pushbutton secured with three galvanized steel machine screws. All parts are identical to those available for purchase in the ████████ small parts catalog (part numbers ███████, ████, and ███-████, respectively).
When the pushbutton is operated, SCP-XXXX emanates an 80-decibel "click" from within the tube, though no means of producing any sound is apparent. Laser microphone tests have indicated that the sound emanates from the empty space in the direct center of the tube, beneath the pushbutton.
When these "clicks" are recorded with high-sensitivity microphones and the recordings slowed down 8000% they are revealed to be recordings of an unknown number of human voices speaking, shouting, and screaming simultaneously. Each recording lasts approximately six seconds at normal speed. Due to the large number of overlapping voices, most are unintelligible and full transcription is not possible. Prior to Incident XXXX-A, the same recording (designated SCP-XXXX-1) was played each time the pushbutton was operated. None of the voices in SCP-XXXX-1 match any voiceprint currently on file.

SCP-XXXX can be readily disassembled with a standard #2 slotted screwdriver. It displays no anomalous behaviors when fully or partially disassembled, but resumes previous anomalous behavior upon complete reassembly. Researchers have replaced individual parts with identical replacements purchased from the ████████ small parts catalog; SCP-XXXX continues its anomalous behavior as long as a minimum of three of the original parts remain. It does not appear to make any difference which original parts these are.
Incident XXXX-A: After making adjustments to the recording equipment in the containment chamber, Dr. M██████ discovered that the audio workstation had logged a new emanation (designated SCP-XXXX-2), despite the fact that no direct interaction with SCP-XXXX had taken place. The new emanation was inaudible to human ears, as it was both shorter and significantly lower in volume than SCP-XXXX-1. When amplified and slowed by 8000% it was audible as a recording of Dr. M██████ speaking his full name in a calm voice. This emanation spontaneously recurred every 17 seconds while Dr. M██████ was present and alone in the chamber, ceasing when he was joined by an assistant. Recording logs indicated he had never spoken any portion of his name within the chamber. Security footage indicated that this was the first time any personnel had been alone in the chamber with SCP-XXXX.
Following this incident, SCP-XXXX has demonstrated new behavior. Each operation of the pushbutton now causes a new recording to emanate (collectively designated SCP-XXXX-3). Each of these recordings emanate as an 80 decibel "click" and are six seconds in length after being slowed 8000%. Each recording is a continuation of the last, with a half-second overlap between successive recordings. The recordings are still of an unknown number of speaking, shouting, and screaming human voices, but the voice of Dr. M██████ is now clearly audible among them (100% voiceprint match with existing personnel file). To date, 39 seconds of continuous audio have been documented and assembled from this behavior from seven operations of the pushbutton.
Between the fourth and fifth pushbutton operations following Incident XXXX-A, a test was performed in which Subject D-4827 was instructed to enter the chamber alone and remain for 60 seconds before exiting. As before, SCP-XXXX spontaneously emanated the subject speaking his full name every 17 seconds for the duration of this test (100% voiceprint match with pre-test recording), and D-4827 can be heard in emanations thereafter.

Addendum: In follow-up health exams, both Dr. M██████ and D-4827 have indicated significant and progressive reductions in energy and appetite. Moreover, while each demonstrated considerable anxiety for the rest of the day after hearing their own voice in the emanations, both have since demonstrated a near-total apathy regarding SCP-XXXX and related subjects. No treatments for these effects have thus far proven efficacious, and Dr. M██████ has been placed under medical observation.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a round, soundproof room 7m in diameter located in a single-story facility wing. The walls, door, floor, and ceiling of the chamber may be composed of any standard building material, but must be a minimum of 1m thick in all directions as measured from the center of the room. No ventilation ducts or other substantial air voids may be present within this minimum. The door of the chamber must open and close as close to silently as is practicable.
Within the chamber, SCP-XXXX is to be surrounded at all times by an ovoid shell of non-anomalous Mark IV self-replicating nanites suspended in place by an electromagnetic field. The shell must measure 2.5m in height and 1.5m in maximum diameter, and the bottom of the shell must allow for a 0.75m circular open floor area on which the entity may stand. To ensure zero visibility through the shell at all times, a minimum thickness of 1cm is required. The nanites are to be set to self-replicate at 68.4% of maximum rate, and shall be equipped to provide continuous video documentation of the entity, but require no other functionality. The nanites will be supplied with raw matter via six Rosenthal Powder-Type feeder units spaced evenly around the perimeter of the room.
Four speakers are to be mounted on the walls of the room. Each speaker shall, individually in clockwise rotation, play a 30dB tone for 0.25 seconds, with a 0.63 second delay between tones. These tones must be played at all times to ensure the entity never ceases turning.
One D-Class personnel will be admitted into the room once per day to refill the feeder tanks. During this time, tones played by the speakers are to be increased to 75dB and personnel are to be instructed to maintain silence. No other personnel are to be admitted entry at any time unless approved by the Site Director.
Under no circumstances are any other anomalous objects or entities ever to be allowed within visual range of SCP-XXXX.
All instances of SCP-XXXX-1 must be separated from SCP-XXXX immediately upon separation and contained separately under identical containment procedures.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a gray-skinned humanoid male of continuously increasing size standing 1.7m tall and of medium build. It has neither hands nor feet; instead, all limbs terminate in protruding broken-off bones. The flesh of the entity's lower arms and legs appears necrotic and has retracted significantly from the exposed bones. The entity has a severe cervical fracture of the C4 and C5 vertebrae, causing its head to hang to the right side. The entity's eyes protrude significantly, and absorb 100% of all visible light and other radiation striking them, giving them the appearance of empty holes in space. It has sparse, short gray hair and no facial or body hair.
The entity remains fixed in an absolutely static, upright position at all times. It maintains a neutral standing posture, with its lower left arm extended forward, its face pointed straight forward despite the sideways tilt of its head, and its mouth open. No external force has yet been observed to move or alter any portion of the entity.
It is capable of travelling freely via unknown means along any horizontal or vertical surface so long as the tips of one or more bones maintain contact with that surface. It travels at a constant pace of 0.9m/s. When travelling, a constant grinding noise is produced at the point of contact between bone and surface; this noise is unaffected by the nature of the surface, and neither the surface nor the bone demonstrate any sign of wear due to travel. The source of this noise is as yet undetermined.
SCP-XXXX continuously disintegrates any and all non-anomalous matter within its visual range at a rate of 0.12m3/s. The type of matter has no effect on this rate. The entity's visual range extends to a maximum of approximately 85 degrees horizontally and 70 degrees vertically. Radiographic testing with uranium blocks indicates particles of disintegrated matter are drawn rapidly into the entity's mouth, wherein they abruptly vanish. There is currently no known method by which to stop or slow this process. Translucent material disintegrates while allowing matter visible through it to simultaneously disintegrate, and effected particles will pass through solid material unhindered when being drawn into the mouth. Fully invisible material is unaffected.
In addition to the disintegration effect, any persons within the entity's field of vision experience a numbing that reduces all pain to a dull ache, as well as generalized fatigue and apathy. The cause of this is unknown, and standing within 1.2m of the entity while outside its visual range will cause the same symptoms to manifest sans disintegration. All symptoms cease upon removing the subject from the entity's field of vision and proximity, with those subject to partial disintegration experiencing extreme pain at this point.
Prior to Incident SCP-XXXX-A, the entity enlarged at a constant rate of 0.003m3/s. Its appearance remained otherwise static during this period. Since Incident SCP-XXXX-A, the entity's size has remained static.
SCP-XXXX responds to external stimuli in a predictable manner and displays no obvious sign of sentience. It will turn to face the source of any stimulus, prioritizing by relative intensity, and pursue as necessary along the straightest possible path to disintegrate the source, pausing to disintegrate obstacles rather than moving around them. Unseen or invisible obstacles are pushed away or broken through; the entity moves with a force exceeding 1600Nm. A higher-ranked target will always immediately override a lower one.

Entity will remain still approximately 3.2 minutes. After this period, it will turn to face an apparently random direction and travel for 14.8 minutes, select a new direction, and repeat indefinitely. |
SCP-XXXX's body is composed of what appears to be ordinary humanoid flesh in a generally healthy but motionless state, and is susceptible to any damage expected of a non-anomalous living human. However, any damage is regenerated completely within 68 seconds, and any tissue or fluid samples taken disappear at the same rate as regeneration occurs. Entity's eyes cannot be damaged or moved by any known means.
All radiographic scanning displays ~1mm black spots throughout the entity's body. This is theorized to be some form of inherent interference. Following Incident SCP-XXXX-A this theory has been disproven.
Testing to determine if SCP-XXXX could be a viable means of destroying hazardous anomalies
SCP-XXXX was collected on March 9, 20██ at ██████████ outside of Facility ██. An unknown caucasian male in his late 20s entered Foundation front business ████ ██████ in extreme distress and displaying partial disintegration over 30% of his body. The man indicated knowledge of the Foundation and said, "I brought it here, I'm so sorry" before collapsing and dying due to blood loss. The entity was immediately found in pursuit. All field agents in the facility were mobilized; successful collection and initial containment was completed with heavy casualties. No records have yet been found regarding the man, who was found to be carrying only $3.26 in loose change and a crumpled scrap of paper bearing a misspelling of the Daevite word for "broken."
