Nekumon draft 25- The Jesters of the Dragon Queen

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-1 instances are to be contained within air-tight padded humanoid containment cells in pairs, these cells are to be equipped with a heat lamp. Breached SCP-XXXX-1 instances are to be handled with little to no force, and are to be kept away from any sharp objects.
Field agents posing as surveyors are located around the European union and United kingdom with the purpose to locate and capture congregations of migrating SCP-XXXX-1 instances to bring them to containment at Site-XXXX.
Since it has proved impossible to relocate SCP-XXXX-2, the cave containing SCP-XXXX-2 is locked off using a 1 meter thick steel door. Any civilians asking about the reason of the cave being closed off are to be given Cover-Story-XXXX1.

Description:
SCP-XXXX refers to two (2) related anomalies.

SCP-XXXX-1 is a species of anomalous humanoids. Their exoskeleton is made up of an anomalous form of keratin which shares many properties with latex rubber. The exoskeleton is separated in a diamond pattern. They completely lack a interior skeletal system and are instead supported by a series of air bladders connected to their muscular tissue. An organ within these air bladders can anonymously convert air into helium to inflate them causing the SCP-XXXX-1 instance to float. The face of SCP-XXXX-1 instances resemble Venetian masquerade masks and several variations of faces have been observed . An appendage originating at the base of the legs of the humanoid resembling a tail of organisms under the genus Lacerta2. Instances of the species are cold-blooded and need to regulate their internal temperature by moving to places of higher or lower temperatures. Instances of the species are sapient and show intelligence equivalent to an average human person. They communicate with each other with a series of squeaks and clicks. They have also been able to roughly communicate with personnel using simple gesters and sign language. SCP-XXXX-1 instances have shown no aggression towards personnel, but have attempted breach of containment on multiple occasions. SCP-XXXX-1 instances show no signs of pain when damaged. When damaged enough the instance will combust, destroying and neutralizing it. Outside of containment, SCP-XXXX-1 instances migrate in congregations of up to 50 instances by inflating their air bladders and floating on the wind.

SCP-XXXX-2 is a large skeleton of unknown species and origin. While the species is one that is completely unknown to science, it has resemblance to depictions of dragons in mythology of western Europe. Along SCP-XXXX-2 there are keratin growths nearly identical to the keratin making up the exoskeletons of SCP-XXXX-1 instances. SCP-XXXX-1 instances seem to be attracted to SCP-XXXX-2 and bring it small items such as flowers, skulls of small mammals, and paper. SCP-XXXX-2 affects these and other dead organic matter by attracting the matter towards it and absorbing it on the cellular level.

Recovery Log █/█/98:

Several unidentified flying objects (now designated as SCP-XXXX-1 instances) were discovered floating above Venice, Italy. There objects were subject to police investigation before the facility became involved.

The items were intercepted by a facility helicopter and brought to temporary containment in Temporary-holding-Site-35 just outside Rome, Italy.

All media coverage of the event was fabricated to cover up the objects as an art piece created by an inflatables enthusiast.

Recovery Log 5/3/03:

A congregations of 50 SCP-XXXX-1 instances are observed over Wales, United kingdom.

A recovery team is sent to the area and capture all of the instances and move them to a temporary containment unit set up in the local area before being relocated to Site-XXXX the next day.

Recovery Log 7/18/08:

Another five(5) congregations of SCP-XXXX-1 instances are observed outside an above ground cave entrance in Germany.

Several agents and armed officers entered the cave and discovered a nest created by SCP-XXXX-1 instances and a massive skeleton of an unknown species (now designated as SCP-XXXX-2).

All SCP-XXXX-1 instances were taken into foundation custody and the skeleton was attempted to be relocated with no success.

Later the area of land containing the skeleton was taken into foundation custody and locked off.

Addendum 3/5/10:

On 3/5/10 at 0100 hours, several researchers discovered that the keratin growths along SCP-XXXX-2 have increased in size at least 13 cm and at most 38 cm. It is currently unknown how the growths increased in size, but it is theorized to be connected to the absorption of genetic matter by SCP-XXXX-2.

A growth resembling human muscle tissue measuring 76.5 cm was also observed on SCP-XXXX-2.
