Special Containment: All attempts to remove SCP-XXX away from the asylum has so far failed, and focus is therefore instead directed towards keeping civilians from entering the site. An area of 5 square kilometers surrounding the asylum has been deemed a radioactive quarantine zone and is blocked off by armed guards. All civilians that approach the site must be interrogated to decide whether they arrived by accident or if they were lead there by nightmares. Whenever someone has been guided to the site by SCP-XXX, a class D personnel must be sent into the asylum to assure that SCP-XXX does not become aggregated. The class D personnel must be confirmed to not have any particular fears that if manifested could become a threat beyond that which SCP-XXX already isThe victim of SCP-XXX's nightmares must be kept under surveillance until the nightmares subside.

Description: SCP-XXX is a shapeshifting creature located in an abandoned asylum located ██ km east of ████████ Nuclear Power Plant. SCP-XXX takes on the shape and abilities of the deepest fears of those who encounter it. It will approximately two to four times a year infect a seemingly random person with nightmares. Although it occasionally infects a magnitude more with no apparent pattern and has also been observed to go without infecting anyone for up to a year.

Those infected with the nightmares will get increasingly morbid visions of themselves wandering around empty buildings before finding SCP-XXX in the shape of something they fear. It will then proceed to attack them and cause them to wake up. This nightmare will continue for periods between months and years before eventually turning into them finding the asylum within their nightmares. They will at that point become obsessed with this asylum and will try to seek it out in hopes of ending the nightmares.

There has as of now been only one recorded incident of the creature interacting directly with SCP personnel. Upon its discovery on ██/██/████, after the area had been quarantined, MTF Psi-7 ("Home Improvement") was sent in to investigate and confirm that SCP-XXX receded within the asylum. They were attacked and one life was lost along with two people being seriously injured, but they managed to fight it off. They, however, did not manage to harm the creature in any significant way. They deemed it too dangerous to attempt any form of transport and instead set up the safe zone using the ████████ Nuclear Power Plant as a cover.
