Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:
XXXX-A is to be surrounded by 2 chain link fences topped with barbed wire, with radiuses of 10 meter and 25 meters respectively. These fences should be guarded by 5 armed personnel each, and the gates are only to be opened for those with level 4 security clearance or higher. All guards and personnel on the site are to be equipped with class 5 hearing protection, and communicate only through sign language or writing. XXXX-A itself is to be covered with an opaque black curtain, enclosed in a small black soundproof viewing booth. Once a week, a D-class personnel is to be led into the viewing area and instructed to read the graffiti in their head. They are then to be immediately executed.

XXXX-B is to be contained in a large, hollowed out house in rural [REDACTED]. All 4 exterior walls of this house as well as the door are to be reinforced with stainless steel, and 4 armed guards are to watch over the facility at all times, 2 on the outside, and 2 on the inside. Level 5 security clearance is required to enter

XXXX-C is to be surrounded by a square concrete wall 2 feet in thickness, and with a perimeter of 200 feet. There are to be a total of 8 guard towers around the edge of the wall, each occupied by 2 guards. No one is to be allowed to enter aside from the guards, unless given unanimous permission by the 05 council.

Description:
XXXX-A is a message graffitied onto the side of a bridge, located in [REDACTED] under [REDACTED] expressway. The message is written in an unidentifiable viscous red liquid which cannot fully dry. The message reads “how long must we wait?”, and this specific instance of that message is a cognitohazard. Once an observer reads this message, they become influenced by several anomalous effects. If the message is not observed by anyone for a period of 2 weeks, it will move to a seemingly random seperate location. The first instance of this message appeared after the failure of procedure [REDACTED]-[REDACTED].

Once read, the message will remain in the viewer’s mind regardless of any attempts to forget it. It will slowly grow to encompass more and more of the viewers thoughts, eventually causing the viewer to forget how to breathe, killing them.

Additionally, the viewer will develop an unexplainable urge to visit XXXX-B, which grows steadily stronger as time goes by. The last thoughts of those affected by XXXX-A besides the message itself are often an expressed need to visit XXXX-B.

Finally, once a subject has viewed the message, any communication of that message, either written or spoken, will cause whoever it was communicated to experience these same effects as well.

XXXX-B is a being located in a cylindrical pit 10 meters in diameter and 8 meters deep. The bottom of the pit is submerged in the same substance as was used to write XXXX-A. Anyone within 10 meters of the pit has reported strong feelings of hatred towards XXXX-B, and those who enter the pit feel an irresistible urge to kill XXXX-B, however this must not be allowed to happen. If XXXX-B were to die, it would result in an CK class end-of-the-world scenario. XXXX-B was born after the failure of procedure [REDACTED]-[REDACTED], and immediately teleported to its current location, 2 miles from XXXX-A and 3 miles from XXXX-C.

XXXX-C is located in [REDACTED], and is marked by a circle of 16 small stones, each with a line of a poem written on it in the same liquid used in both XXXX-A and XXXX-B. In the center of the stones are 8 statues, 7 arranged in a ring around the eighth. The initial 7 are similar in appearance to the [REDACTED] involved in events 231 alpha-golf. The eighth is an unknown figure which appears to be [REDACTED].
All statues are made of a dark red stone, which is warm to the touch. All attempts to move any of the elements of XXXX-C have failed, and have resulted in minor [REDACTED] events. All further attempts at removal are prohibited.

It is believed that if XXXX-B were to die, this would be the origin point of the resulting apocalypse.
Note: The foundation has attempted to use amnestics, including those from SCP-3000 to cure subjects of the effects of XXXX-A. However, this has only sped up the process, erasing all other memories from the subjects mind, and drastically increasing the cognitohazard’s takeover. Tests are ongoing.
