Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4270-1 is to be kept alive in a medically induced coma, all the machines that are keeping SCP-4270-1 alive is to be connected to auxiliary power supply in case of any disruption of power.
SCP-4270 is to be kept in level 4 Storage unit in Site XXXX, storage unit is to be kept under armed security at all times.

SCP-4270 is kept in a box made of SCP-4270-2, which is secured in a level 4 Fire proof Storage unit in Site XXXX, storage unit is to be kept under armed security and surveillance at all times.

Description: SCP-4270 is an ancient book of undetermined age and in a very good condition despite its age. SCP-4270 can be damaged but will repair itself almost instantly after inflicting the damage, if any page is removed completely from SCP-4270, it disappears and attaches itself to its original place. If SCP-4270 is completely burnt or destroyed, it disappears altogether and materialize in another place completely unharmed. (See Incident report 4270-01)

SCP-4270 pages do not contain any visible or invisible writing and cannot be written on as any marks will disappear instantly.

SCP-4270 anomalous properties activate whenever a human (Herby referred to as SCP-4270-1) approach it within 10 meters radius, once SCP-4270-1 crosses this radius, they are compelled to approach SCP-4270, open it and read it, SCP-4270-1 under the compulsion effect do not respond to any outside stimuli unless removed by force, where they appear confused and do not remember approaching SCP-4270.
SCP-4270 compulsion effect affects only one person at a time and others can approach either SCP-4270 or SCP-4270-1 without getting affected.
Once SCP-4270-1 reaches SCP-4270, writing starts to appear which they start reading without stop. SCP-4270-1 are not affected by any outside stimuli or fulfill basic needs like eating, drinking or sleeping, SCP-4270-1 can be removed by force from SCP-4270 but will react violently and will use any force they can use to return to read SCP-4270.

SCP-4270-1 will keep reading until they finish or die from malnutrition, SCP-4270-1 will then start trying to apply what they read, claiming that what they read will change the course of humanity to the best, and refuse to elaborate more than stating, “No one can comprehend what’s written”.

Using a robot to approach SCP-4270 while in active state shows writings not associated with any known language. How SCP-4270-1 able to read it is still unknown.

SCP-4270-1 will work none stop until either they reach what they trying to create or die from malnutrition or exhaustion. SCP-4270-1 can be stopped by force from continuing their work but will react violently unless restrained or rendered unconscious.

Amnestics does not remove the compulsion effect, nor the distance between SCP-4270 and SCP-4270-1. SCP-4270-1 always know where SCP-4270 is at all time and will always try to keep it within their items at all times even after reading.

+ Recovery Log

SCP-4270 was discovered after sleeper agent embedded within the local police department in [REDACTED], Egypt activated their communication device and notified the foundation of anomalous activity regarding a book.

Investigation revealed that on 24/06/20██ the Ministry of Antiquities sent a small excavation team, under the lead of Professor ███ ███, to [REDACTED] to check for the possibility of a hidden temple underground after several small statues and pottery in pristine state were found in that location. The team did not return or sent any feedback for 24 hours and the local police were notified, two police officers were sent to the location where they found that all the team was dead except for the professor (SCP-4270-1 Alpha) who was sitting in front of an open temple entrance surrounded by the dead bodies of the excavation team.
SCP-4270-1 Alpha was reading from a book in a very bad shape. He reacted violently when approached and questioned by the police officers who took him by force and SCP-4270 to the local station.
SCP-4270-1 Alpha was put in a small cell waiting for investigation while the book was put in an evidence locker awaiting processing. SCP-4270-1 kept trying to break the cell doors violently until he died from blunt force trauma. That reactivated SCP-4270 effect and the guard in the evidence room got affected same as SCP-4270-1 Alpha, leading to the undercover agent to notify the foundation.

A team was sent to the location were SCP-4270-1 was rendered unconscious and was taken away with the book, amnestic were used on the police station employees and a cover up story was put for the death of SCP-4270-1 Alpha.

+ Incident Report 4270-1

On 07/07/20██, While SCP-4270 was in active phase, tests were conducted to determine SCP-4270 durability, a researcher accidentally dropped a lit match that as supposed to be used on a page on the whole book which completely caught fire and burned completely much faster than a normal book would, before researchers could react SCP-4270 turned to ashes and almost instantly disappeared from test room.
SCP-4270-1 was awakened from their coma to find the book escorted by armed foundation personnel.
SCP-4270 was found inside a local school library in the same city the book was originally found. The book was recovered without any complications and returned to foundation site.
