Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5949 is to be kept within a 2x2x2 meter Cell in the Research Sector-3 at site ███. The Object is to be kept on a 1.20 meter tall pedestal. Any wishes to proceed with tests must be hand written and sent to Dr. ██████ for approval.
Description: SCP-5949 is a right handed metal glove that is constructed of a metal unknown to man. The metal has been proven to be resistant to burns, sharp tools such as saws, blunt tool such as hammers, and a combination of Nitric and Sulfuric acids.
While by itself, SCP-5949 has no strange properties, however when a Subject has placed their arm into the gauntlet, the fingers of the object snap shut and the Anomaly is stuck onto the arm of its wearer, who will now be referanced as SCP-5949-2
After exactly 22 hours after contact, SCP-5949-2 reports to have great discomfort in their right arm. At 24 hours after contact, the subject reports a great pain in their right arm, most stating that it felt like getting stabbed by needles.
At 26 hours after contact, the wearer become extremely distressed, screaming in pain and attempt to pull SCP-5949 off of their arm. At 27 hours after contact, the right arm of SCP-5949-2 is completely severed off the the owner. SCP-5949 then opens itself back from a fist to an open hand.
The limbs that are severed off of SCP-5949-2 are never found. Researchers had once attempted putting a live camera on the subjects right arm. After the arm is severed, the cameras vision goes completely dark, although still functioning.
Test have proven that SCP-5949 has the same affect on animals similar to humans. Researchers had SCP-5949 placed on the arm of an a ape., and throughout the day the same affects that had been seen in previous Subjects were shown in the ape. After 27 hours, the apes right arm was severed off.
There is no current way to remove SCP-5949 from the Subjects arm. There are two known ways of removing SCP-5949 from SCP-5949-2, the first way being death.
On ██-██-2019, After 26 hours after contact, SCP-5949-2 entered the aggravated state. The Subject then attacked the guards that were positioned in the room. Multiple 5.56mm rounds were fired into SCP-5949-2. After the subject was deceased, SCP-5949 opened from the D-class' hand. It was removed, and the arm of the Subject was unscathed.
On ██-██-2019 at 14:00, and series of tests were approved by Dr. ██████ in order to find a way to remove SCP-5949 from SCP-5949-2. Three day later, a test was conducted with SCP-077. SCP-077 had produced SCP-077-1, and D-5782 moved his hand and SCP-5949 into the gas. Once the entirety of SCP-5949 had been moved into the gas, the fingers of the Object opened. D-5782 retreated from the gas and newly formed slime that was once the wall. The Class-D reported that SCP-5949 was now removable from his hand.The Anomaly was placed back in its cell and Dr. ██████ discontinued any future testing, claiming that the problem now had a solution and unneeded risks were not to be taken.
