Dear researcher,

It's common knowledge that the SCP Foundation's Ethics Committee can be oftentimes treated as incompetent, ineffectual, and unnecessary. Out of all of the jokes made at our expense, this containment proposal is quite possibly the greatest insult the Committee has ever received.

I honestly shudder to think where you would even propose obtaining D Class children.

Description: SCP-4296 is a phenomenon in which a dimensional gateway (hereby referred to as SCP-2496-1) manifests in the bedroom closets of children in the process of undergoing puberty. Those exposed to SCP-4926 are, while within their respective pocket dimensions, capable of consciously willing matter into existence.

+ SCP-4926 Testing Protocol

• Subject is not to be given a bed-time, a "computer off" time, or any similar parental restriction.
• Subject is not to be prompted or mandated to enter SCP-4926-1.
• Staff are not permitted to speak of, discuss, or acknowledge the existence of SCP-4926-1 while within the vicinity of the subject.
• Staff are fully permitted to speak of and discuss any information that the subject willingly shares on his own accord. While this supersedes the above rule, staff are not to acknowledge any prior knowledge of SCP-4926-1's existence.
• Staff are not to enter the bedroom of subject while the subject is present, nor are they to leave any indication that they have been within the bedroom.

1. Staff are to have breakfast prepared for the subject before they awaken, slid underneath their bedroom door.
2. Approximately four hours after the subject has finished breakfast, staff are to remotely open the containment door and offer the subject lunch. During this time period, they are expected to make casual chit-chat, appear friendly, and obtain information regarding SCP-4296.
3. Approximately eight hours after the subject has finished lunch, staff are to slide dinner underneath the subject's bedroom door.
4. When the subject enters SCP-4296, one (1) member of Mobile Task Force Zeta-9 is to follow after a time period of three (3) hours and document their findings without being spotted by the subject. They are to leave immediately after recording their observations.

Foreword: Subject is a male, sixteen years of age, presently undergoing an unusually late puberty, trialed as an adult and wrongly convicted to life in prison for multiple acts of murder.

Subject: So, you're telling me that all I have to do is stick around this room for a few weeks and you'll let me go?

Dr. ██████: As stated in the contract that you've signed and as discussed with you personally, the terms of our agreement are that you work here for thirty days and that Foundation will—
Subject: Sounds like there's a catch. What percentage of people make it to day thirty?

Dr. ██████: I'd say most. At least eighty percent.

Subject: You're telling me that you let eighty percent of serial killers, murderers, and other death penalty convicts head back home? I call bullshit.

Roughly eight seconds of silence take place.

Dr. ██████: For the next thirty days, you will receive a warm breakfast, lunch, and dinner, courtesy of the Foundation. You will receive access to a twin sized bed, a desk, a desktop computer, a closet of fresh clothing, and a disposal chute. You will have access to a toilet, sink, shower, and the associated toiletries. You will not be allowed to leave the room without permission, and will be expected to return to your quarters when requested. Are there any questions?

Subject: No shit, I have questions— but you probably won't answer those either, so hurry up and get me into that comfy-ass plush bed.

The door to the containment chamber opens, and the subject walks inside.
