Item #: SCP-5000

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5000 is to be stored in Storage Pedestal X-184 on Site-██ object storage area located in Sector-2 of Light Containment Zone. Should SCP-5000 breach containment in some way, personnel should evacuate the room in which SCP-5000 was discovered in. Security should then carefully handle SCP-5000 back into the objects designated Storage Pedestal without any attempt to throw, drop, or otherwise make SCP-5000 go any faster than 6 Kilometers per Hour. Any testing in which involves human test subjects (Class-D Inmates) must be approved by any member of the Ethics Committee.

Description: SCP-5000 is an average playing card displaying the 10 of Spades measuring 2.55 by 2.54 inches. Any relevance between the 10 of Spades and SCP-5000s anomalous properties are currently undergoing study. When SCP-5000 goes above a speed of 4 Kilometers per Hour, it will begin to accelerate considerably, eventually reaching speeds of 50 to ███ KPH depending on distance traveled. After SCP-5000 has reached any dead-end in its travel, it will begin to quickly make a 90 degree curve toward its original location where it was thrown. During this process, SCP-5000 will cut through any material in its direct path during its returning state, despite having no physical properties that would suggest it would be capable of doing so. As such, when SCP-5000 returns to its original location, there is a risk factor in which the thrower or any animal/human in the way of its path to its origin can suffer severe injury, or even death via decapitation. There is no known method to impede or halt SCP-5000s progress to its original location.

Addendum: Due to the incident on 5/19/████, testing on SCP-5000 will now also require approval from any member of the Ethics Committee with a valid reason for testing. We have no need to sacrifice human lives for the purpose of seeing what will happen. We know what will happen, they will get decapitated. Failure to follow this will result in disciplinary action. - Dr. ████
