Item #: SCP-XXXX (The Delete Button)
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX must always remain in a locked metal box. SCP-XXXX will remain at secure facility Site-121, located in Antarctica. Admittance to the facility is authorized to only personnel with Security Clearance 3 or higher. Any personnel that must be within the sphere of influence(100m) must wear a beta-wave blocker device upon the head and must only have exposure to SCP-XXXX for not more than 3 minutes at a time. Exposure to SCP-XXXX must be limited to visual research only and at no time should the button be pressed (See SCP-XXXX Research Test Document 1966-014).

Research Test #4
Date: March 3, 1967
Location: Foundation Site-38
Clearance Level: 3
Researchers Present: [REDACTED]
Pre-test information:
After conducting multiple tests on the object, we have discovered that it is in fact indestructible. We have attempted to burn, crush, and detonate SCP-XXXX yet it continues to remain completely untouched and showing no signs of damage. The crush machine we used had over 4 tons of crushing pressure and was made of solid steel. The piston was split totally in half before the machines motor burned out. A crane removed the piston only to discover that the artifact was undamaged.
Button press test 1
Test Procedure:
A Class D participant has been selected to participate in this test. During the test, all personnel will be in a viewing room located in a separate part of the facility. Video surveillance will be conducted during the test. The participant has been instructed at the sound of the horn he is to press the button without delay. All video will be recorded and marked for further research purposes.
Results:
At the sound of the horn, Participant 35661 pushed the button on the box and instantaneously disappeared along with the box itself. Facility lockdown procedures were immediately invoked and a search for Participant 35661 and SCP-XXXX was conducted. After several hours of extensive searching, neither Participant 35661 nor SCP-XXXX could be found. Additionally, there were staff members as well that could not be accounted for. 5 Class D’s, 3 Security Officers, 1 Research Specialist, 2 Researchers and the facilities Containment Specialist could not be located. Further research into this will be conducted.
Addendum:
It has been discovered that those that vanished along with Participant 35661 and SCP-XXXX had physical contact with Participant 35661 immediately prior to the test. Furthermore, upon attempting to contact any known relatives or acquaintances of Participant 35661 their whereabouts are unknown as well and appear to have vanished. After weeks of searching all known connections to Participant 35661, it is known that SCP-XXXX not only causes the disappearance of the person who pushes the button, but anyone that person has had physical contact with at any point in time. The physical part of this equation is important since there were many people who had only spoken to Participant 35661 but were not affected. The amount of people affected by this is unknown because even if Participant 35661 accidentally bumped into someone walking down the street, they could potentially be affected by SCP-XXXX. Researchers are monitoring all reports of missing persons to see if there are any ties to Participant 35561.
SCP-XXXX has not been located at the time of this writing. All Foundation personnel with knowledge are searching to locate SCP-XXXX before another critical event can take place.
End of document.
If the button of SCP-XXXX is pressed, the individual that pressed the button instantaneously disappears without a trace along with any individual that they had physical contact with at any point in their life. The impact is severe depending on the age and social activity of the individual. The impact could create catastrophic events that lead to massive traffic accidents, plane crashes and multiple reports of missing persons thus critically clogging the law enforcement infrastructure. The whereabouts of those that are affected by the button push is completely unknown.
Furthermore, at the time of the button press, as the individual vanishes, so does the box. It also instantaneously teleports to another location within the world waiting for another individual to locate it. Containment is absolutely critical.
Description:
SCP-XXXX is a small wooden square box with a small circular red button on its top. The box itself has burned engravings that are of an unknown origin but appears to be similar to Mayan glyphs. The box itself measures 3.0in on all sides and is 2.0in tall. The button is red in color and is a circle with a 1.5in diameter. The entire box weighs exactly 11.4oz. Unknown markings are located on all sides, including the bottom and top as well as located on the button itself. Markings appear to extend over the bends of the box indicating extreme precision in the placement of the markings. Markings appear to have been made by a hot object, however tests show that no heat has been introduced to the wood. The type of wood used is also of unknown origin due to no know species of plant located on earth that it could be derived.
Additional Notes:
Due to the marking’s likeness to Mayan glyphs, researchers believe that this was possibly made by the Mayans. It is unknown as to why the Mayans may have created such a device but it is believed that the device could be responsible for the disappearance of the Mayan civilization as well as the possible demise of the Roanoke Colony disappearance in NC in 1590.
SCP-XXXX was discovered by a Foundation researcher that was walking in a park near Nashville, TN (See Discovery Notes of Dr. ██████ Document 1966-008).

Discovery Notes
Date: [REDACTED], 1966
Location of Discovery: Bordeaux Garden Park, Nashville, Tennessee
Name: Dr. ██████
Clearance Level: 3
On [REDACTED], 1966, I Dr. ██████ was walking along a beautiful path in the Bordeaux Garden Park when I found myself walking off the given path. The area of the park I found myself in was absolutely beautiful with lush greenery and colorful florae. Mysteriously there was a bench in the middle of this amazing location that appeared to be for staff only. I decided to sit on the bench to enjoy the scenery when I noticed lying on the bench seat next to me was a small wooden box with a red circular button on it. I was extremely intrigued by what it was and felt like I needed to pick it up. When I did, I noticed that it was unusually light considering it was made entirely of wood.
I immediately noticed the strange markings that appeared to be burnt onto it. It was a very attractive looking box. While I was holding it, I began to feel a strong sudden urge to push the button on it’s top. It was a very strong urge and I was seriously contemplating pushing it. Due to the sudden strong urge and the mystery surrounding this object, I decided against it but the gripping feeling inside was extraordinarily strong. I immediately left the garden and returned to Site-38 so it could be evaluated.
During the long trip to the facility I had to stop often and walk away from the vehicle. I noticed that the further away I got from the vehicle, the weaker the compulsion was to push the button. I had to wait until I could regain my composure and then I would return to my vehicle and continue the trip. What should have taken me a few hours took me 3 days due to the number of stops I had to make.
Upon arrival to the facility I advised the Senior Research Director to secure this item into a locked box away from anyone until we could conduct additional tests and research. This item has a strange impact on me, and I am usually very strong willed, but I found myself on several occasions almost pushing the button. I don’t know what it does, but I want to find out, desperately.

Addendum 1:
Button testing procedures discontinued after initial test. Containment procedures were immediately implemented, and visual research has only been authorized by Dr. ████████████ . Exposure was initially set to 5 minutes, but it was discovered that the beta-wave blocker equipment was not able to adequately prevent the compulsory effect of SCP-XXXX. Multiple researchers had to be physically detained to prevent them from pushing the button. It has since been discovered that 3 minutes is the limit of the device’s protection from the effects. There are no known long-term consequences of SCP-XXXX effect on the brain, however, those researchers that were physically detailed can be seen on video occasionally walk by the containment room and stare in the direction of SCP-XXXX. Those researchers don’t seem to have an explanation as to why this occurs considering they are outside of the sphere of influence at the time of the occurrence.
Addendum 2:
After the initial button test disappearance, SCP-XXXX was located in Baratpur, Nepal by a Foundation Mobile Task Force Operative looking into reports of strange feelings around a secluded region of the village. SCP-XXXX was retrieved and containment protocols were immediately conducted to return it to Site-38. A new facility(Site-121) is currently under construction in Antarctica to contain SCP-XXXX.
