Item #: SCP-XXXX
An instance of SCP-XXXX-1 photographed by drone.
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Due to the nature of SCP-XXXX and its location, a perimeter is to be set up around SCP-XXXX to avoid containment breach and detection from the general public. A small outpost known as Watch Station Delta-73 on an unnamed atoll serves as a base for the monitoring of SCP-XXXX. International trade routes through SCP-XXXX no longer exist under the pretence of the area being a protected marine conservation area.
Contact with instances of SCP-XXXX-1 is prohibited, unless authorised for testing by Site Director Deccans. Under no circumstance should information of the outcome of the battle or history beyond the respective era of SCP-XXXX-1 ( see Addendum XXXX-2) be relayed to its crew.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a location in the South Pacific, approximately 12 square kilometres in area within international waters. SCP-XXXX's anomalous abilities which include temporal and spatial anomalies, manifest at random, permitting on-site monitoring. A naval battle in recorded history, hereafter referred to as SCP-XXXX-1 will take place there at random, although the battle which manifests only includes those that are of a magnitude that can be warranted as major (see Addendum XXXX-1).
Notes: SCP-XXXX was initially discovered while gathering information on SCP-2256 in the South Pacific region. The research vessel observed the Battle of Jutland, and eventually disappeared after loss of visual contact due to weather conditions. After confirming resulting in the creation of Site-73.
Manifestations of SCP-XXXX-1 have been noted to start and end with heavy fog, with near zero visibility. Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are believed to be replications of the naval battles they manifest into.
Various instances of SCP-XXXX-1 have been recorded, listed below are the most notable instances.

Over 30 instances of SCP-XXXX-1 have been recorded thus far, with two instances of the same battle manifesting. Both instances manifested, disappeared, and observed to be in an exactly identical fashion.
Addendum XXXX-1: The upper and lower boundaries for the length of SCP-XXXX-1's manifestation are not known, but there are hypotheses that manifestations occur frequently, but usually occur for a minuscule period.
Several minor naval battles were recorded, including those such as the Battle of Tunmen, the Battle of Trapani and in one instance, five merchant vessels engaged in a stand-off. As observed in several instances, only naval craft are present in each manifestation.
At least 2 recorded manifestations of SCP-XXXX-1 do not correlate with any historical period, with a leading hypothesis that SCP-XXXX-1 is not limited to naval battles within recorded history. One instance of SCP-XXXX-1 with ships apparently made of organic matter, possibly from the era in which SCP-1000 existed in, backs this theory.
Addendum XXXX-2: Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are transported to SCP-XXXX via temporal distortions. Due to this contact with SCP-XXXX-1 is no longer allowed under any circumstance to avoid causing a Class-AH grandfather paradox.
Incident XXXX-1: Watch Station Delta-73 was sighted by Japanese destroyer █████ and subsequently fired upon during the manifestation of SCP-XXXX-1-19 at 1933 hours. Thankfully the destroyer became engaged in active combat with the HMS ███ before it could move towards Watch Station Delta-73. Requests for cloaking device to be installed at Watch Station Delta-73 for the safety of on-site staff have been approved.
Rounds from the destroyer were detected to have a high level of
SCP- photographed at Site-22 on 17/09/2016 prior to transferral into containment cell.
Item #: SCP-
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: No extensive precautions have been proven necessary due to the calm nature of SCP-, and at this stage is free to roam around the lower level facilities of Site-22. Instances of SCP- are to be kept in a standard Livestock Containment Cell with environment variant "Pasture" and 5 polyester carpets due to the disturbances made by their ringing sounds if left to roam around Site-22. Sensors are to be placed in the containment cell to record and identify extended ringing periods.
Description: SCP- consists of 5 specimens closely resembling Ovis aries (Domestic sheep) in appearance, with the exception of possessing limbs and heads made of rotary telephones and the wool appearing to have been woven into patterns consistent with those found on a common cardigan. These instances have been designated SCP- -1 through 5, and can be differentiated by the patterns in their wool.
SCP- was discovered in █████, South Island, New Zealand, covered in carpets in a derelict barn by a farmer who had heard a muffled ringing sound. All instances were retrieved after the subsequent report of the aforementioned farmer attracted Foundation attention. A Class-C amnesic was administered and cover story given.
SCP- does not require nutritional intake, nor does it have the necessary appendages to do so. Instead, SCP- appears to gain sustenance by generating static electricity from periodical rolls on the carpet, which has been hypothesised to be the main power source of SCP-. Before their transferral to a containment cell, SCP- was noted to produce less ringing sounds. The abundance of polyester materials SCP- had access to while at Site-22 contributed to the increase in ringing noises which prompted researchers to complain to Site Director Lecter resulting in the transfer of SCP- to their current containment cell.
Instances of SCP- will produce a single ringing sound instead of bleating as non-anomalous sheep would, lasting from 2 to 8 seconds per interval between 60 to 65 decibels. SCP- has been observed to ring more often around middle-aged male researchers of Caucasian descent. Upon the attempted removal of wool of any one SCP- instance, the aforementioned instance will begin to ring at a volume of 180 db until the individual withdraws from it.
The handsets of SCP-'s apparent heads can be removed without any effect from the instances in question, and are identical to that of a normal rotary telephone. No output is recorded from the handset while the instance of SCP- it belongs to is silent, however the sound of sheep bleating can be heard if one responds to the ringing of any instance of SCP-. Attempts to dial the rotary telephone have a similar effect as attempting to remove the wool, and in some cases, SCP- will give a mild electric shock to the person trying to dial the telephone. As such, it is advisable to not disturb SCP-.
Addendum -a30: Every 4 weeks, all instances of SCP- are recorded to ring for longer periods than normal for a few days, ranging from 62 to 105 seconds per interval if left undisturbed. During this period, SCP- may intercept two way communications from an unknown range which can be heard through SCP-'s handset. Landline communications and Morse code signals can be intercepted by SCP- without any connection to the necessary receiver devices.
Foreword: First recorded instance of intercepted communication by with SCP- -3. Similar conversations are recorded in later interceptions and by other instances, and the individuals involved are believed to be directly related to SCP- and its origins.

Dr. Klein picks up handset of SCP- -3. Two individuals can be heard having a conversation, and are hereafter referred to as SCP- -3-01-α and SCP- -3-01-β respectively.
SCP- -3-01-α: Afternoon, Peter. I hope I'm not calling at a bad time.
SCP- -3-01-β: Of course not. What's up?
SCP- -3-01-α: I was just wondering if there's any update on the search for my sheep. You know, the special ones.
SCP- -3-01-β: Oh. Sorry, Gordon, I haven't got any leads yet. With all the mobile phones around these days it's near impossible to find ringing sheep.
SCP- -3-01-α can be heard sighing.
SCP- -3-01-α: Well, I do appreciate the effort. Nothing from the authorities?
SCP- -3-01-β: I'm pretty sure telephone sheep would've been all over the newspapers by now if the authorities found them. Also, I'm not allowed to use the missing animals notice board anymore at the station.
SCP- -3-01-α can be heard sighing.
SCP- -3-01-α: I didn't find anything regarding the Jordan fellow who reported a ringing in a barn. Are you sure that happened?
SCP- -3-01-β: Yes, I heard it on the grapevine outside the chapel. I also went to talk to the Jordan fellow, but he says he never reported anything. Do those sheep do anything else?
SCP- -3-01-α: Not that I know of. Grandpa never told me much about them either, and he left without answering my questions. No letters, nothing. It's like he disappeared.
Silence for 2 seconds.
SCP- -3-01-α: Well we'd better find them soon. Telephone sheep aren't really a thing here, wouldn't you say?
SCP- -3-01-β: Yeah, I guess. See you around then.
SCP- -3-01-α: See you.
