Experiment Log XXXX-A:
Subject: D-1879
System: Uncovered Glass Cup
Description: Subject is instructed to open a provided bottle of SCP-XXXX and pour it into a glass cup provided beforehand. As D-1879 opens the bottle, they remark that a sweet smell emanates from the fluid inside. When D-1879 goes to pick up the bottle, they slightly recoil and ask for oven mitts as the bottle is noticeably hot. With oven mitts, D-1879 pours a full dose of SCP-XXXX into the glass cup. Within two minutes the bottom of the glass cup melts, releasing its contents onto the metal table underneath. The subsequent reaction is similar to that of a superacid corroding material. For the next few hours, the room rises in temperature as the fluid evaporates into the air exponentially. At the forty-five-minute hour mark, D-1879 was released from the room as the concentration of toxic gas was at a lethal point. Once two hours passed, the liquid had completely evaporated, and the room slowly returned to a natural temperature.
Notes:“It seems that SCP-XXXX has a caustic reaction to non-porous materials. Also, we might want to investigate the effects of the atmosphere as a possible system of dispersion.” – Dr. Pagan
Experiment Log XXXX-B:
Subject: D-9760
System: Small Diesel Engine
Description: Subject is instructed to open a provided bottle of SCP-XXXX and empty its contents into a small diesel engine sourced from a rundown truck from the abandoned town of ██████, █. As D-1879 did, D-9760 asks for oven mitts as the bottle is too hot to handle. Upon pouring the fluid and starting the engine, D-9760, previously an expert in engines like the one provided, remarks that he had never heard an engine sound that good. After a period of five hours, the engine shut off and the experiment was ended. Later, it was revealed that the engine was nearly unusable as the inner workings were corroded beyond repair.
Notes: “So, SCP-XXXX makes machinery unusable after its insertion and consumption. We’ll keep that in mind for future tests. It got its five hours of fame, I guess. In unrelated news, apparently D-9760 was raised in ██████. I guess he saw the make of the engine because he remarked that he used to work with engines like those with his father when he was young. The specific make and model of the engine is mostly localized to ██████ so we made the assumption.” – Dr. Pagan
Experiment Log XXXX-C:
Subject: D-9760
System: Semi-trailer Truck
Description: D-9760 is given a bottle of SCP-XXXX and is instructed to empty its contents into the fuel tank of an abandoned semi-trailer truck sourced from ██████. D-9760 asks for mitts as they are aware of the heat that starts to be produced by the opening of an SCP-XXXX bottle. D-9760 pours SCP-XXXX into the truck’s fuel tank and back away. When trying to start the truck, the same does not show signs of functioning. Smoke starts to blow out of the front of the truck. It is worth note that it is the same type of smoke that was produced in the first test. Once the smoke dissipates, the engine compartment is opened, and it is shown that the engine is heavily corroded. The corrosion seems to have caused a cessation of function on the engine.
Notes: “I don’t understand why we are getting inconclusive results. I can’t seem to predict what makes this thing tick. They’ll have my head if we end up unnecessarily wasting Foundation recourses. No, I can’t fail this time.” – Dr. Pagan
Experiment Log XXXX-D:
Subject: D-9760
System: Abandoned Hospital Backup Generator
Description: Subject has had experience with the item before and so is aware of the precaution necessary for its handle. Subject is instructed to open an SCP-XXXX bottle and empty its contents into ██████ Hospital’s backup generator. At the moment of activation, the generator ran smoothly until the predicted five hours had passed. During the allotted time, all the electrical appliances inside the building were switched on by various D-class on-site. This had no effect on the duration of SCP-XXXX’s effects. The backup generator was, as seen before, unusable after the process. D-9760, at this point, shows complete comfort in the handle of SCP-XXXX.
Notes: “It seems that heat radiating from SCP-XXXX once opened is a common occurrence. Protection in future experiments will be provided without the need to ask. D-9760 was retired from the project. I wasn’t notified about that fact, but I can’t say I was surprised. He always had this glint in his eye every time he saw a machine run on the stuff. When we took him to his presumed hometown for this test, he became a tad erratic. It was like a combination of nostalgia and anxiety had overtaken him. We chose not to expand on the feelings of the subject before releasing him from the project. I don’t know if that was the right call…” – Dr. Pagan
Experiment Log XXXX-E:
Subject: D-1733
System: ██████’s Electrical Grid
Description: A backup generator is rewired to serve as ██████’s main power source by conducting electricity to the main electrical plant in the area. D-1733 is presented with a bottle of SCP-XXXX and oven mitts. D-1733 seems mildly uncomfortable as they poor the bottle into the generator. Halfway through pouring, D-1733 is seen flinching and accidentally drops the SCP-XXXX bottle. Three drops of varying sizes land on D-1733’s arm, causing burns and intense pain. The medical crew at the scene mediate the situation and determine the burn is consistent with a strong caustic reaction. Although approximately half of the bottle was poured (28.5mL), the generator was powered for the next five hours all the same. During this time, as with the previous test, many electrical appliances were activated with no effect on the time of the effect’s activity. After the five hours had passed, D-1733 was noted as seeming calm in contrast to their state while the generator ran. An hour after the end of official testing, light rains began to develop. While picking up to return to Site-102, the generator, now damaged beyond future function, sputtered back to function for less than a second before giving out and smoking from the inside.
Notes: “It looks like the system gets bigger, but the effects don’t diminish. We learned a lot from this test. For starters, half a bottle went in, and yet we got the same result as a full bottle. Then we got the damn thing coming back to life from a little rain. That was the weirdest part of the experiment. Oh, also, the subject was intimidated by the liquid to the point of spilling it onto themselves. I was later informed that they were slightly sensitive to Hume fluctuations. It keeps me up at night thinking of the possible relationships and the implications to it. Anyways, next test we do people, let’s see what happens.” – Dr. Pagan
Experiment Log XXXX-F:
Subject: D-2697
System: D-2697’s Uncovered Arm
Description: D-2697 is sat in a room with a table and has his right arm strapped down to the table by a guard. The same guard leaves only to return with a bottle of SCP-XXXX. D-2697 inquires about the nature of SCP-XXXX. The guard remains silent as he opens the bottle with caution. He proceeds to pour SCP-XXXX onto D-2697’s restrained arm. D-2697 gives an immediate indication of discomfort in the form of an extremely loud scream. D-2697 yells various profanities before asking the accompanying guard to shoot them in the head. During the commotion the subject is causing, SCP-XXXX quickly dissolves the flesh of D-2697’s forearm. Just as the fluid reaches the Ulna and the Radius bones in the forearm, portions of SCP-XXXX are believed to have mixed with the blood in D-2697’s circulatory system. Permanent damage reaches up to the collar bone as traces of SCP-XXXX destroy the blood vessels up to the shoulder and cause extreme nerve damage. In one hour, SCP-XXXX manages to sever D-2697’s arm from the middle forearm to the hand and the test is called off to begin an emergency amputation of D-2697’s right arm. The remains of the severed arm are mutilated beyond recognition.
Notes: “Thank god this is my line of work. I don’t think I could’ve handled what I saw today if I wasn’t a Foundation employee. I still have some questions, though. Next time we might test ingestion. If it’s anything close to what I saw today, I think I’ll go for the amnestics. ‘We die in the dark so you can live in the light’ has never been truer for me…” – Dr. Pagan
Experiment Log XXXX-G:
Subject: D-2125
System: D-2125’s Digestive System
Description: Subject is placed in a room with a table and a chair. On the table, a bottle of SCP-XXXX is provided. Once D-2125 enters the room, the door is locked behind them and the test is observed through cameras installed previously. Subject is instructed to open the bottle and consume SCP-XXXX. Upon opening the bottle, D-2125 remarks there is a sweet scent to the fluid. Once D-2125 ingests SCP-XXXX they begin to scream violently. Steam is seen emerging from the subject’s facial orifices as their veins begin to bulge and turn dark gray. During the next hour, subject [DATA EXPUNGED]. [DATA EXPUNGED] all around the room. [DATA EXPUNGED].
Notes: [NO ENTRY PROVIDED] – Dr. Pagan
Experiment Log XXXX-H:
Subject: D-4881(Deceased)
System: D-4881’s Brain
Description: A recently deceased subject is put in a surgery theater and is prepared for brain surgery. Upper cranium is removed, and cerebrospinal fluid is removed as well. Cerebrospinal fluid volume is replaced with an equivalent volume of SCP-XXXX fluid. Machines read the vitals of D-4881 during the operation. Once SCP-XXXX is introduced into the cranial cavity of D-4881, a spike in brain activity is detected. The corpse does not act outside of providing brain wave readings consistent with high stress and elevated fear levels. After five hours, the subject’s brain wave readings flatline and is reestablished as brain-dead.
Note: “This was notably tamer than the last test we performed. I’ll still keep my Class-A inhaler in my pockets for any future tests. A little dose gets me by anything we might see. I’m considering trying again but a straight injection to the heart this time. D-4881 had an upbringing in ██████ just like D-9760. Probably a coincidence. Kind of a spooky one at that.” – Dr. Pagan
Experiment Log XXXX-I:
Subject: D-9760 (Deceased)
System: D-9760’s Heart
Description: D-9760 was found in his cell hanging with a note beside him. The note read “██████ made me do it. It wouldn’t let go”. Shortly after his demise, D-9760’s body was prepped for an emergency experiment as staff saw the opportunity to perform a test on his corpse given his ties to [REDACTED]. Using a Teflon coated needle, SCP-XXXX was extracted from a bottle and injected directly into the subject’s heart. The subject was reanimated after a defibrillator was used to start the heart. Subject seemed calm at first before [DATA EXPUNGED]. Subject started to hallucinate entities that were not perceived by any other observer. Subject chants in a language that is not known to exist. Subject experiences a sudden jolt and stops moving. Medical staff pronounce D-9760 as brain-dead but not clinically dead. After five hours had passed from the beginning of the test, D-9760’s heart stops and is pronounced clinically dead once more.
Note: “Holy crap! That was some messed up stuff. I hope he didn’t just summon some eldritch horror or something. I think that ██████ has a larger role to play in this than I was suspecting. I think I need a puff of Class-A after what we saw in there. I’ve been summoned a couple of days from now to meet with the Site Director. Apparently one of my researchers wanted a meeting between us three to talk about something. Something tells me this won’t be good.” – Dr. Pagan
