Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3581 is to be held in Site 37 in a small room. It should be installed on a generic toilet, hooked up to plumbing. Fluorescent lights should be installed in the room. A knob should be in the adjacent research room, which can dim or brighten the lights at researcher's discretion. Cameras with night-vision functionality should be kept in the room and be on at all times.

Description:
SCP-3581 is a medium-sized toilet seat comprised out of plastic. It was discovered in a nightclub in ██████, Florida. It has multiple stains along its body, tests revealing most of the stains are urine. Large holes take up most of the seat, carved out in a currently unknown fashion. The seat doesn't contain any type of lettering on it, and finding the manufacturer is currently the top priority.

If the light in the room comes below a certain threshold, then after ██ minutes seemingly human mouths of varying sizes appear on the inside of the holes. It should be noted that the mouths should not be able to produce the sounds that it makes, as there are no vocal cords. There are eight (8) mouths, now called SCP-3581-1, SCP-3581-2, SCP-3581-3, SCP-3581-4, SCP-3581-5,SCP-3581-6,SCP-3581-7, and SCP-3581-8. All of them are double-sided, the mouth appearing on both sides of the toilet seat. The mouths can produce a wide variety of sounds, but all of them are generally human¹. Some voices are gendered, such as one mouth only making female voices and another only making male². The mouths have been heard singing, conversating with each other, and even speaking in unison. The mouths seem to have different personalities, and seemingly have free will. The mouths are generally violent and are aggressive to other people in the room.

+ Testing Sheet 3581-A

Test 1 - Dr. Wirtz

Subject: SCP-3581
Procedure: Enter the room using night vision goggles while the mouths are active, and chip the tooth of SCP-3581-5.
Results: After some trial and error of the SCP-3581-5 closing during the chipping process, the mouth whistled while speaking for a couple of minutes. After a couple minutes or so, SCP-3581-5 mentioned how annoying the tooth was, and proceeded to spit the tooth out at a speed of ███ mph. The tooth ricocheted and pierced my suit, causing slight damage to my arm.
Analysis: After surgical removal of the tooth, they kept it for later study, even though it didn't have any obvious apparent anomalous properties. Later examination of SCP-3581-5 revealed that the tooth grew back. Interesting.

Test 2 - Dr. Wirtz

Subject: SCP-3581
Procedure: Have a dentist walk into the room and rip out teeth from SCP-3581-5. (The dentist wearing protective armor, especially after Test 1)
Results: The mouth had a hard time pronouncing words for a long time, but eventually grew them back.
Analysis: The mouths seem to reliably grow the teeth back, and now we have a lot more teeth to study with.³

Test 3 - Dr. Foster

Subject: SCP-3581
Procedure: Raise the brightness of the room so the mouths aren't active, and put expanding sponges into all of the holes except for SCP-3581-3.
Results: I was able to enter and plug the holes without incident, and SCP-3581-3 successfully summoned after lowering the brightness of the room. The rest of the SCP-3581 instances didn't spawn, and SCP-3581-3 questioned where they went to. SCP-3581-3 had a distinctly female voice.
Analysis: They can't seem to detect where each other go, and can't see either, which makes sense. The fact that it was female seemed interesting, and I will follow up to this in my next test.

Test 4 - Dr. Foster

Subject: SCP-3581
Procedure: The same procedure as last time, except plugging SCP-3581-3 and unplugging SCP-3581-4
Results: SCP-3581-4 successfully summoned, all the rest successfully blocked. SCP-3581-4 had a distinctly male voice.
Analysis: All of the mouths seem to have different genders. I have added this to the SCP profile

Test 5 - Dr. Foster

Subject: SCP-3581
Procedure: Same procedure as last time, except plugging all of the holes.
Results: SCP-3581-1,2,3,4,5,6,7 all successfully blocked. SCP-3581's anomalous properties failed to summon.
Analysis: At least we have a way to stop this thing from spawning, just in case.

Test 6 - Dr. Martins

Subject: SCP-3581
Procedure: To see the effects of prolonged exposure to SCP-3581, D-Class #34522 is instructed to stay in the room for 24 hours. He is supplied with soylent and water.
Results: After about an hour of keeping #34522 locked in the room, he decides to go to sleep. He seemed to be normal at this point, however, he does seem to be purposely avoiding SCP-3581, though this may be due to just circumstances. In a decision from the SCP-3581 team, they decided to lower the brightness to spawn the anomalous properties. Sure enough, the mouths formed at started talking. #34522 woke up and was visibly confused as to where the voices were coming from. #34522 walked over to the toilet and saw the mouths. #34522 started shouting, telling the staff to let him out of the room. When ran to the other side of the room, the mouths started making a low humming noise in unison.⁴. When #34522 went to use the restroom using the supplied toilet as a last resort, [REDACTED] causing almost instant ███████⁵
Analysis: A new mouth formed. Entitled SCP-3581-8. Shit. Should be noted that SCP-3581-8 doesn't have a mouth on the reverse side. Instead, it has a fleshy wall, from the looks of it, made out of the same material as the lips are made out of.

Test 7 - Dr. Martins

Subject: SCP-3581
Procedure: D-Class#34903 was assigned. We will instruct him into a cell and lower the brightness, then tell him to sit down.
Results: [REDACTED]
Analysis: Seems like the different mouths cause different forms of ████████. That was a massive waste of a D-Class. SCP-3581-8 gained a backside. Cleanup took almost 6 hours. The mouths sang the entire time.

Closing Statement: It's difficult to tell if it's impossible to communicate with SCP-3581 or they were just choosing to ignore us (or something more than that), but what they were saying was highly disturbing, to say the least. -Dr. Martins
