Special Containment Procedures:SCP-XXXX individuals are to be contained in a hermetically sealed glass box measuring 1,5 1,6 meters each side. If any crack appears on the box's surface, it must be moved to room 74-07 where it will be frozen at a temperature of -30 º C to prevent further "mitosis" and then put inside a similar glass box, only 10 centimeters larger on each side.

SCP-XXXX-A is to be secured in a regular cryogenic storage unit closed wooden box, not further than 50 meters away from SCP-XXXX's glass box.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an anomalous variation of the Periplaneta americana (American Cockroach) species. It's body composition is the exact same as any regular individual of that species, except for the presence of an unknown corrosive fluid inside it's thorax.

Every SCP-XXXX instance has the ability to instantly duplicate it's own body, as in a bacterial mitotic process, when passing through any gap with an area smaller than it's body. The most common case is a SCP-XXXX organism passing through the space under a closed door, which results in two individuals appearing on the other side. Strampling or smashing SCP-XXXX will cause the same effect.

SCP-XXXX can survive for an undefined amount of time without being fed and don't seem to need any nutrition. However, SCP-XXXX individuals show interest in consuming any kind of junk food they get close to. SCP-XXXX does not show any sign of hostility towards humans, but can enter inside human orifices, such as nostrils, mouth, ear canals and eyelids.

+ Discovery Log

SCP-XXXX was discovered in a suburban neighbourhood, located in the city of ██████, Ceará, Brazil. Foundation personnel were sent to the location after being contacted by a covert agent inside the local police, informing them about an incident involving cockroaches and a pest control company employee, who, as he described, was extremely confused and scared, saying that "the amount of cockroaches kept rising" and that there was nothing he could do.
After retrieval and application of amnestics on the employee, a group of three Foundation field agents were sent to the informed residence to investigate the potential anomaly. The location was a small house with no relevant features. However, inside the structure were found, in loose approximation, 1200 organisms of the Periplaneta americana species in the first room of the house. The surviving agent also reported a "strong smell of decomposing flesh" coming from somewhere beyond this first room (see Addendum-XXXX-A).

Ignorant to the anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX, two of the field agents tried to enter deeper into the residence. According to agent ██████████, the only survivor, after walking into the kitchen, "dozens of cockroaches" began crawling out of the two agents' protection vests and entering their ears and mouth. They agonized with pain on the ground, while, according to the third agent, the number of cockroaches "seemed to get larger and larger every second" and, after a few seconds, he "couldn't even see them anymore, only blood and cockroaches".

After the casualties, the residence was sealed and a second group of field agents and two researchers assigned to the region were sent to start testing the anomaly. At the moment, there was no safe procedure to move SCP-XXXX to containment.

+ Field Test Log

Test 01: SCP-XXXX showed no response to variation of light. The house being dark has no relation to it's anomalous properties.

Test 02: SCP-XXXX shows no particular hostility, but trying to split the group will cause agitation and abnormal multiplication. The number of entities has risen to approximately 2500.

Test 03: When force is applied to the entirety of SCP-XXXX's body, it duplicates. SCP-XXXX can duplicate it's own body by passing through gaps smaller than it's own body. That is the origin of it's growth in quantity. The approximated amount of cockroaches is now 3900. We should proceed very carefully.

Test 04: The cockroaches showed interest in junk food, such as ████████, █████ and █████████. We can use this to guide the group's movement, but there's still no way to safely contain SCP-XXXX.

Test 05: The use of fire shows that strong increase in temperature causes agitation of SCP-XXXX and consequent increase in number. The quantity of SCP-XXXX entities rose to approximately 6700. I'm afraid we won't be able to continue this for much longer.

Test 06: Strong decrease in temperature causes less activity from SCP-XXXX. The multiplication process has significantly slowed down. Using liquid nitrogen, we might be able to move the entities to a Foundation facility to begin proper containment and, if possible, more testing.

Note: After concluding tests, adequate equipment to freeze SCP-XXXX and move it to proper containment were sent to the area.

+ Addendum-SCP-XXXX-A

SCP-XXXX-A, to the present moment has not displayed any anomalous properties aside from a complete halt in it's decomposition process. However, as a direct request from Dr. ████████ Araùjo, to avoid any unexpected behaviour, the subject should be contained in close proximity to SCP-XXXX.

SCP-XXXX-A is the corpse of a human female with black hair and brown skin. The corpse is in an advanced stage of decomposition, but, as stated previously, the process has stopped completely, probably before it's retrieval.

SCP-XXXX-A was found during the recovery process of the SCP-XXXX individuals. The body appeared to be the epicenter of the infestation, located sitting in a room deep within the house and was taken to Bio-Site-66 immediately upon discovery.

The room where the corpse was found had many sheets of paper scattered on the floor, each with drawings depicting, according to Dr. Araújo's interpretation, ████████████████, made with crayons, also scattered throughout the location (See Addendum-XXXX-A-1) There was also a single piece of paper with pencil writings, on a desk in front of the chair that SCP-XXXX-A was found sitting on (see Transcript-XXXX-A).

About SCP-XXXX-A's history.

According to neighbours, the house belonged to a woman who was seldom seen outside of it, only leaving to receive food and water. According to them, she sometimes would scream in the middle of the night, calling someone she referred to only as "father". No one in the street treated this behaviour as something out of the ordinary, but would never try to engage in any form of interaction. Neighbours don't seem to remember when she started living in that house, but, according to many interrogations, it was no more than 25 years.

In the house, were found a large amount of preventive medicine, ointments, phytotherapeutic herbs and lucky charms from many different cultures. Every corner in every furniture was glued to a little ball of cotton and there were no knives or forks in the kitchen. There was nothing made of glass, even cups and plates were made from plastic.

I'm starting to think that you too want me dead, just like you wanted my mom dead, right? These people look at me at night, but I ███████████████████. They want to stop me from reaching you, they want me dead. You promised. Why don't you come and ████████████████████████████, just like you promised?. It's been too long, father. I don't want to die, but you want me to, don't you? But I will not. I'm scared, dying is bad, I won't die, you won't have this pleasure. Even when you arrive in this █████, I won't die. I will be immortal, I will be eternal, infinite. And then you can come and pick me up, father. I'll be waiting. I'm sure the others will be too.

Hey, do you know how they say cockroaches can survive nuclear explosions? I wonder if they can survive ████████████████ too."
