Special Containment Procedures:
When an instance of SCP-XXXX is detected, the road in which the instance has occurred is to be cordoned off for road work 2 km each side of the instance and agents are to monitor all incoming vehicles to the location. Agents are to wave off vehicles that try to stay on the road in the exclusion zone. Two teams of two agents posing as State Troopers or local law enforcement, with rations to last a period of 8 hours, are to be on standby to recover any civilians who enter SCP-XXXX. Depending on the weather and temperature in the area, other equipment is permitted to be used inside SCP-XXXX. If the civilians are recovered then B grade amnestics are to be administered to prevent the spread of knowledge about SCP-XXXX.
If the two agents cannot locate and extract the vehicle from SCP-XXXX within 8 hours a team from MTF Iota-12 “Wasteland Wanderers” is to be dispatched into SCP-XXXX with 48 hours’ worth of rations and a Navistar 7000 Series with a Scranton Reality Anchor mounted on the back. Should SCP-XXXX disappear while the team is inside the space, when the next instance occurs, contact with the team should be attempted.
If a breach into SCP-XXXX occurs, then more personnel are to be assigned to security around the instance and the exclusion zone around the area disguised as roadworks is to be expanded to 5 km on either side of the instance.
Should SCP-XXXX-2 try to leave SCP-XXXX, a team of MTF Iota-12 is to enter SCP-XXXX and administer B grade amnestics to SCP-XXXX-2 to contain it inside SCP-XXXX.
Description:
SCP-XXXX is an extra-dimensional space that appears spontaneously in various locations across the earth that lasts between 12-83 hours before spontaneously disappearing. Entry into SCP-XXXX is through an unseen point on the road but only from heading east to west, this is believed to be how SCP-XXXX-2 first entered SCP-XXXX.This extra-dimensional space is identical to its location within our dimension, sharing the same environment however the further travelled from the point of entry into this space the more obscure the surrounding area becomes. Time has been observed to either pass very slowly or not at all within the extra-dimensional space. Within the space, there is no observed fauna or human life except for SCP-XXXX-2.
The locations of all instances of SCP-XXXX all share similarities in being isolated highways or motorways being over 38 km away from the closest town, city, or residence. SCP-XXXX instances have never been observed to occur in the same location twice.
SCP-XXXX-2 is a male humanoid entity of caucasian descent in their early 30s standing 1.73 meters in height. The entity wears well-worn hiking boots, a pair of faded blue jeans, and a dirty maroon flannel shirt. The entity appears to also wear a black cap, with a maroon B embroidered onto the front, depending on the weather conditions in the locations of its appearance. There are a small number of scars spread out across the entity’s lower jaw, resembling cuts caused from shaving. The entity has short brown hair, which is worn in no particular style.
Addendum XXXX-1:
MTF Iota-12 “Wasteland Wanderers” have been repurposed in locating and exploring further instances of similar events. See Exploration Log XXXX-1.
Addendum XXXX-2:
SCP-XXXX-2 has been identified as missing person David Ray Stratmore who went missing on 05/11/1947 walking between his bus stop and house. Post-action reports submitted by members of MTF Iota-12 indicate that SCP-XXXX-2 has not displayed any signs of physical aging since 05/11/1947. See Exploration Log XXXX-13. Whether or not time progresses differently in SCP-XXXX is still yet to be determined and requires further testing and exploration.
