Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Keep all exterior doors locked at all times, as well as interior doors leading to the library. SCP-XXXX-A is to be provided with basic amenities, entertainment, and given psychological evaluations weekly. In the event of physical retalitation, SCP-XXXX-A can be restrained as easily as a normal child. Constant supervision of SCP-XXXX by SCP officials is to be maintained, including an armed guard in case of possible intruders. SCP-XXXX-B through D are not to be removed from the library without authorization.
Description:
SCP-XXXX appears to be a gothic mansion in [REDACTED], estimated to have been built in the tenth century. The most recent owners, before it was taken over by the SCP, were Jimson and Ivy Nightshade, who were murdered along with their teenaged son in 1970. Their daughter, Belladonna, was spared. The house includes a master bedroom, two smaller bedrooms, a library, a courtyard, a ballroom, a kitchen, various hobby rooms and an office. It is unknown what the Nightshades' professions were.
SCP-XXXX-A is a female human child, previously named as Belladonna Nightshade, who is unable to leave the house without permission from her parents and older brother. She appears to be physically 8 years old despite being born sometime between 1960 and 1970. SCP-XXXX-A had been trapped in the house for at least after her parents' death in 1970 before being found by the SCP. Attempts to remove her from the house revealed an invisible barrier physically preventing her exit. A similar effect happens when SCP-XXXX-A attempts to enter the coutyard. The barrier does not affect SCP personnel. Further study revealed that she was able to gain permission to leave using SCP-XXXX-B through D and be brought to an SCP Secure Facility for studying. Besides her anomalous properties, she also shows signs of many psychological disorders arising from Trauma, such as PTSD and paranoid schizophrenia. Verbal outbursts and tantrums are common, rarely turning into physical violence. After testing, it was found that she also could not leave the facility without getting permission again. For her psychological well-being, it has been determined that SCP-XXXX-A is now better off being kept in her home after the bodies of her family are removed and it is assured that their killer isn't retuning. SCP officials working with her claim to feel irrationally unsafe, disturbed and/or afraid, even before she begins acting out. SCP-XXXX-A refuses to wear any outfit other than her dress made of purple flower petals, which she was found in.
SCP-XXXX-B, SCP-XXXX-C and SCP-XXXX-D are a trio of books. Each has a purple cover, a blank front and back, and the names, "Jimson Nightshade," "Ivy Nightshade" and "Hemlock Nighshade," respectively on the spines. The books are sentient and claim to be the person they are titled after, knowing all of the personal information of the real Nightshades, but unaware of their deaths until being informed by an SCP researcher. The books communicate by making words appear on their pages, automatically flipping to a new page when the one they are on is full, and unable to communicate at all when closed. The books also record, in text, the words of anyone speaking to them. Languages that do not use the Latin alphabet appear in their native alphabet, but gibberish defaults to the International Phonetic Alphabet. The books seem able to fluently understand the English, German and Arabic languages, with partial understanding of French. Experiments with more languages such as Chinese, Spanish and Turkish are to be conducted in the future. When the books are closed after being opened, they teleport back to their position on the shelves of the house's library.
