NightveilNocturne
Item #: SCP-5### womanand39s-kimono-fd50e0-640.jpg

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-5### must be sealed within an airtight concrete room 5 meters long, 5 meters wide and 5 meters high. SCP-5### shall sit in a 15 gallon metal basin with a glass dome. The extra gallon is to account for the size of SCP-5### itself. In the event that SCP-5### must be handled or moved the order must be made by level 3 or higher personnel and security moving SCP-5### must wear full body airtight hazmat suits. SCP-5### shall be placed in a 15 gallon container that can become air tight when moved. In the event that a victim is absorbed and SCP-5### becomes gaseous, the gaseous body of SCP-5### seems to be weak to cold sources, despite the kimono being completely immune to weathering. However no amount of cold can seemingly return SCP-5###’s gaseous form back to the kimono. Only after 24 hours have passed will it return to its dormant state. So SCP-5### gaseous form must be lured into a containment vault and sealed inside until it returns to a dormant state. Those luring SCP-5### must wear full body airtight hazmat suits. At the soonest opportunity SCP-5### should be placed back inside a 15 gallon metal basin with a glass dome.

Description:
A Japanese Kimono with black cloth exterior and a blue interior. SCP-5### seems to be immune to any forms of heat, cold, or pressure put upon it. The item is in a continuous soggy state as the item leaks exactly 10 gallons of dark blue viscous fluid around itself. If this liquid is removed in any capacity from SCP-5### or the kimono itself is removed from the puddle then SCP-5### will produce liquid once again until exactly 10 gallons of fluid is surrounding it. Any previous puddles evaporate and seemingly return to the kimono with no dangerous repercussion.

If a person comes in contact with said liquid their body will dissolve slowly into a light blue gas unless the limb that came in contact is removed. If a limb is removed the person in question will no longer be in danger but the limb will continue to dissolve. Regardless of whether a person loses their life or limb the dissolved material will still become a light blue gas. Note: Any remaining liquid is absorbed into SCP-5###’s gaseous form. This gas will go to fill in the empty space of SCP-5##. SCP-5### will obtain gaseous arms in this form and if it comes into contact with others it will turn them into more gas that will be absorbed into the gaseous body of SCP-5###, as an attempt to remain somewhat sentient. SCP-5### seems to simply want to remain in a gaseous form and hunts lifeforms to remain in that state. If SCP-5### does not absorb another lifeform into it within 24 hours it will become dormant and revert to the damp kimono again. It will once again produce a 10 gallon puddle dark blue liquid in hopes to try and absorb another lifeform. SCP-5### cannot travel through vents or small spaces in its gaseous form as the gas is seemingly attached to the kimono. It however floats and will float through any space large enough it can squeeze the kimono through. SCP-5### is not able to dissolve inorganic materials.

History:
SCP-5### was first discovered in the Chugoku region of Japan in the year [Redacted]. Agents were sent to capture SCP-5### after learning of various reports on it from locals around the region, its exact location of origin is unknown. Many reports noted seeing SCP-5### appear in graveyards, the team sent to retrieve SCP-5### also found it in a graveyard.

Addendum 5###-01: If the liquid SCP-5### produces comes into contact with any animals they will turn into gas as well, if necessary animals could be used to allow SCP-5### to remain in its gaseous state if it is given a new ‘victim’ every 24 hours.

Addendum 5###-02: It seems that when SCP-5### is in its gaseous state, it will sometimes write poems in Japanese Kanji that resembles the kind used in Japan in the late 12th/early 13th century. SCP-5### will do this by creating drops of it’s blue liquid and using it like ink.

Log:
(This section acts as a log of any poems that have been left behind by SCP-5###, translated into english from the Japanese Kanji)

1: Searching, wanting, love
endless quest, endless journey
where is my one love

2: Beauty, wondrous
cherished dress, cherished wedding
where did it all go

3: Gone, cold, empty, fear
Alone, formless, agony
how long has it been

4: Lost, unknown prison
trapped, confused, disturbed, angry
need to keep searching

5: Need, need, form to move
need, energy, food, creature
Need, need, need, freedom

6: NEED, NEED, NEED, NEED, NEED
NEED, NEED, NEED, NEED, NEED, NEED, NEED
NEED TO FIND MY LOVE

Addendum 5###-03: SCP-5### is driven to stay in its gaseous state however it can, and does not seem to know that who they are searching for is long dead. If seen in its gaseous form one should assume it is searching for something to dissolve
