Special Containment Procedures: SCP-001-N is to be surrounded by a standard suburban chain link fence at least seven feet in height, with several "DO NOT ENTER" signs posted in places which would be plainly visible. All attempted intruders are to be interrogated and, if found to have no knowledge of the foundation or SCP-001-N, will be given a 50 mg dose of Class B amnestics and delivered to local authorities. All glass within SCP-001-N is to be covered with ordinary plywood sheets or opaque plastic sheets if the glass object is too small to cover with wood. These coverings are not to be removed outside of testing, or without level 3 clearance during testing.

Description: SCP-001-N is an abandoned house located in ███████, ██. In the event that an individual is alone within SCP-001-N for a prolonged period of time with the door to their current room closed, the doorway will lead to another reality instead of its usual destination. This phenomenon only affects the entrances to the room, as all utilities (electricity, water, gas) will continue to work as normal during this event, which will be referred to as SCP-001-NA for convenience. Glass objects within SCP-001-N has shown similar properties to the doorways, revealing an alternate reality on the other side during SCP-001-NA events, though vision through the glass does not need to be obscured for the phenomenon to occur. SCP-001-NA events have been observed to last between 10-120 minutes. All contact with any individuals not within the room once the SCP-001-NA event ends is lost, and cannot be relocated after re-entering the room.

PROCEDURE: D-5695 is given a wireless radio, and told to sit in SCP-001-N's bedroom, checking the doorway every 15 minutes for anything unusual.

RESULTS: After 3 attempts, D-5695 discovers that an SCP-001-NA event has occured. He vocalizes discomfort as cold air presumably enters the room.

D-5695: Fuck me man, you never said it would be freezing..

D-5695 is instructed to describe the environment outside of the door.

D-5695: Alright, uh..

A floor board can be heard creaking, presumably due to D-5695 attempting to get a better look outside of the doorway.

D-5695: Well, it looks like a desert, the sand is purple for some reason. The sky is covered in clouds and it's fucking freezing… There aren't any plants, it's all barren.

D-5695 is instructed to exit the room and look around for anything else of note.

D-5695: Are you sure? I don't have a coat or anything and it's fucking freezing out there.

D-5695 is reminded of the nature of his employment, and follows the instructions. For roughly two minutes, all contact with D-5695 is lost, before suddenly being regained.

D-5695: -oesn't look like there's anything of note.

D-5695 is instructed to repeat himself. He pauses for a moment before doing so.

D-5695: It's all purple sand, clouds, and it's fucking freezing. That's all there is out there. Can I leave now?

It is determined that this mission was a success, and D-5695 is instructed to close the door and check again every 15 minutes until the event ends.
