SCP-5778

Item #: SCP-5778

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Any personnel wishing to contact SCP-5778 in his concealed cell must receive approval from at least one 05 Council member, must undergo training in case of any aggression from SCP-5778, and at least one squad of armed personnel outside of SCP-5778's cell, in case of containment breach.

Any personnel that has access to SCP-5778 must remain cautious and gentle when communicating to SCP-4107. The armed personnel must not interfere with the interview, nor if SCP-4107 becomes aggressive and attacks the interviewer to ensure containment.

In case of containment breach: Two M.T.F squads must be dispatched upon SCP-5778's position. The M.T.F squads must put in roughly a hundred bullets for SCP-5778's form to deactivate and weaken SCP-5778. Once he's weakened he must quickly be sent back to his containment chamber.

Description: SCP-5778 is a humanoid, approximately 1.85m in height that takes the form of a common military soldier. The identity of SCP-5778 is unknown, as the subject wears combat goggles with very dark tint over the eyes and a tight mask over its nose, mouth, cheeks, and chin.

SCP-5778 is known to speak English in a low tone. SCP-5778 is relatively safe when he's not threatened or is aware of no enemies in the perimeter. Caution must be advised when trying to communicate with SCP-5778. SCP-5778 is known to be aggressive towards personnel that has 'enemy' behavior. Personnel must approach SCP-5778 as an ally, not a foe. Staff researchers haven't found out if SCP-4107 was ever a United States Marine in the past or is merely an entity that takes the form of a marine.

SCP-5778 is armed and dangerous. Any attempt at disarming SCP-5778 results in failure and very aggressive behavior. SCP-5778 is equipped with a USP pistol and an M4-A1 assault rifle. SCP-5778 has had exceptional training in hand-to-hand combat. When aggressive SCP-5778 takes on a different form, where its covered in an unidentifiable material. Personnel deems it the "ghillie form" as it takes on the appearance of a dark ghillie suit. In this form, SCP-5778 is invulnerable to bullets and has regeneration capabilities. The material appears to absorb the bullets, giving SCP-5778 more ammunition. The form lasts as long as there are enemies nearby. When in this aggressive stage, it is possible to communicate with SCP-5778, but only as an ally. If SCP-5778 identifies the personnel as an enemy, they will be dispatched quickly. Recordings of SCP-5778 suggest SCP-5778 has supernatural powers to lift objects in the air and drop them in order to provide cover when in a firefight. SCP-5778 has been recorded to emit smoke from its right hand in order to blind his enemies. It is not confirmed if SCP-5778 can see through the smoke it emits, but it is assumed it can.

Addendum-4778.1: Discovery of SCP-5778:
SCP-5778 was first sighted by the SCP Foundation in the (REDACTED) Forest when we got a distress call from a forest ranger who was concerned about the being. SCP-5778 moved tactically like it was in a warzone. SCP-5778 had his military gear equipped with the weapons he still uses today. It seemed like a normal soldier getting ready to go back into war, but the foundation spotted unusual occurrences happening within the (REDACTED) Forest. A tree was collapsing over. Once we were able to locate the tree, we found SCP-5778 using it as cover and firing upon what seem to be, teenagers that were talking to SCP-5778 from afar. We quickly dispatched two teams of M.T.F to apprehend the entity. M.T.F were able to peacefully apprehend SCP-5778.

Here is the recording of the interview we conducted when the foundation apprehended the subject and put it in a medium-sized cell with a window roughly being 2m wide. An M.T.F soldier stands idly by.

Interviewed: SCP-5778
Interviewer: Dr. John Reyn
<BEGIN LOG>
Dr. Reyn: Hello-
SCP-5778: A prison?
Dr. Reyn: Well, no-
SCP-5778: Friend.. or foe?
Dr. Reyn: I assure you, I'm a friend, now may I-
SCP-5778: Then why the prison, my 'friend'?
Dr. Reyn: It's a containment cell. You've harmed innocents in the past, we're just being safe.
SCP-5778: (SCP-5778 would look around its cell, not saying a word)
Dr. Reyn: Now, let's get back to the interview, shall w-
SCP-5778: A perfect testament for my escape. Mark my words: I always. Escape.
Dr. Reyn: Uh, right. I think this interview can wait until later..
SCP-5778: (SCP-5778 would turn around and look at the back wall)
Dr. Reyn: Well, then. If you'll excuse me. (Dr. Reyn would quickly walk towards the exit.)
<END LOG>
Closing Statement: SCP-5778 would soon escape minutes later.

Addendum-5778.2: Recovery of SCP-5778:
SCP-5778 escaped containment minutes after his containment. The main cause of the escape was the 2m wide glass window in the containment cell. A squad of M.T.F was dispatched in order to contain SCP-5778 but failed in doing so. Two more M.T.F squads were dispatched to handle the containment breach which was proven successful after an hour of tactical maneuvering in order to weaken the entity. SCP-5778 has been brought to a more secure and more sturdy containment cell.

Notes of SCP-5778
SCP-5778 goes through a series of emotions, going insane each time when interviewers mention the "Afghan War". SCP-5778 appears to have severe PTSD every couple of hours. During these PTSD episodes, SCP-5778 will: Start firing his weapons, act as if he is executing a person, tactically moving around his cell, and would sometimes talk during certain actions.

Once SCP-5778 is no longer having a PTSD episode he would be quiet and stare at the back wall. Foundation staff would have armed personnel move items into SCP-5778's cell to experiment with SCP-5778's PTSD episodes to identify what SCP-5778 has (what appears to be) flashbacks about and learn more about his past.

SCP-5778 would use certain objects as cover and start shooting at the containment cell's wall. SCP-5778 would stare intently at a chair and point a weapon at the chair and would shoot it. Staff believe this to be an execution.

The Foundation Staff would allow more items to be set in SCP-5778's containment cell.

Conclusion of SCP-5778

After weeks of studying SCP-5778's PTSD episodes, staff believes SCP-5778 is a war criminal that has brought many middle-eastern villages to ruin, executing civilians and soldiers, and betraying fellow allies because of what seems to be "lack of honor".

The staff has concluded that SCP-5778 has a cryptic meaning for the word "honor". This new meaning has bewildered staff and suggests that SCP-5778 is a renegade military soldier that does not appreciate the United State's marines' mercy towards surrendering enemies. SCP-5778 appears to find anyone who has allied or befriended the enemy to be an enemy and must be destroyed. Civilians that were forced or have allied with the enemy must be sacrificed in order to bring fear to the enemy, to weaken them.

It is still unknown on how SCP-5778 has gained such remarkable kill in hand-to-hand combat and firing a weapon.
