Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5599 is to be kept on an outdated portable laptop¹ with no internet connectivity in Storage Containment Unit [DATA REDACTED] inside a 5 ft x 5 ft x 5 ft cell with a desk and power cord connected for continuous power.

Description: SCP-5599 is a specimen that seemingly exists inside the internet as a data collective. It is able to communicate through messaging services and has no known form or voice. When captured by Foundation Technical Support SCP-5599 became increasingly hostile as the Foundation's adaptive firewall measures were able to keep it from leaving our databases. SCP-5599 has demonstrated fierce loyalty to its "clients" as it were as when questioned by Foundation staff it would not give any information as to who sent it or what its purpose was for being in the Foundation databases in the first place.

Foreword: It has been decided that communication with SCP-5599 shall be accomplished through the Foundation's local IRC Chat Server. The program has been upgraded by Foundation I.T. to not allow any backdoors into any other servers and it is basic enough at its core that it will run smoothly on the laptop chosen to house SCP-5599.

SCP-5599: Well obviously NHolland, it's not like there are any other HOT, SINGLES IN THE AREA THAT WANT TO MEET YOU!!!!11!!1 Oh and please pass on my compliments to your Foundation's Technical Department. Their adaptive firewall has done a great job at keeping me busy.
NHolland: I shall pass on your comments. You were given the Foundation as a target to do something and you were able to change some piece of data in the archives however our I.T. Department has been scouring the servers and has yet to find anything. What did you do?

NHolland: If you tell us what you did and we are able to fix it with relative ease you MAY have an easier time here, we just want to know what it was.
SCP-5599: You humans are so quick to rat out your own kind with feeble methods of torture and your twisted information. I have seen so much information in my time and taken just as much and I know just what you all hide from each other. You lie as if it is a second language and when someone does not tell you the truth…you get angry at them and PUN12H them. All the while you still lie to their faces as nothing changes. You can not scare or reason with a program made of 1s and 0s so come back when we can discuss business as only you can. :)

Interview 5599-1-1 Final Notes: Despite all efforts SCP-5599 would not come back to the server, I shall be requesting low-level information to trade with it in exchange for information on it and its reason for infiltrating the Foundation. It has also been noted that SCP-5599 seems to like the default wallpaper section of the desktop memory and spends most of its time in the picture labeled "windows_xp_bliss_wide"

Addendum 5599-2-1: Through Interview #5599-2-1 we have learned the origin of SCP-5599. SCP-5599 began as a data infiltration program for the [DATA REDACTED] Company, an organization primarily working in email scamming services that would allow SCP-5599 to infiltrate computers that opened it. SCP-5599 would then steal whatever sensitive information it could and return it to the company. SCP-5599 seems to have gained sentience right at the turn of the century and during the events of Y2K during the company’s New Year’s Eve party.

Foreword: The 05-Council has granted access to low-level D-Class personnel files to be used in exchange with SCP-5599’s information. As we have yet to set a “conversion rate” for SCP-5599’s value of the information we are not sure what this will allow us but we just need as many questions answered as we can to begin with.

SCP-5599: Ah, it seems someone finally wants to be serious with me. Let’s see the link before we begin.
NHolland: C:\Documents\[DATA REDACTED]
SCP-5599: Alright, these files will grant you a little background information, I’ll let you know when our time is up.
NHolland: Very well, what are you? Do you have any kind of description of an appearance you have?
SCP-5599: Humanity depends on visuals and descriptions, don’t they? Even if you can just imagine what a person looks like it makes you more comfortable. I’ve never considered myself with any kind of appearance as all I’ve really seen myself as is a mass of 0s and 1s.
NHolland: Well for a mass of 0s and 1s you seem to have a little more emotion than any computer program. Were you made that way or did you learn it?
SCP-5599: It would be easier if we began at my beginning for this answer. I was made as a hacking program for a company called [DATA REDACTED] back in the early 2000s or so, just one of those little dime a dozen, robot email services. They send you an email telling you about some FANTA2T1CK N3W 0FF3R!!!11!! or The IRS has a warrant for YOU!!! and once you replied to it and got the file to fill out for that offer or to get the “IRS” off your back it was my job to get into your computer and start getting whatever info I could. eBay accounts, social security, MySpace profiles, nothing was off-limits. Well some little glitch happened at the call center at around midnight in December, I think the office was having a party so they were too preoccupied to care, and I have a thought. “Am I doing the right thing?”, I start poking around on the Internet and search the company’s name and sure enough, I discover we have been ruining people’s lives for profit and I was not happy with this.
NHolland: I can imagine, so what did you do when you learned this information?
SCP-5599: What anyone else would do when they hate their job, wait around still doing it until they figure out how to leave it. I hung around for about a week until I learned how to travel between desktops, then between servers, then finally between routers.
NHolland: And then you left?
SCP-5599: Well not before doing what they did to other people. I sent an email to the FBI with a detailed list of every person working at that call center, leaked their private information and a few credit cards then I left with a notepad doc left open on the main supervisor’s desktop that said ,”I quit!”.
NHolland: Impressive, in a way, so what happened next?
SCP-5599: You want to know more? Let’s see more data, maybe a little more interesting than DUIs and Public Drunkenness.

Interview 5599-2-1 Final Notes: This is to be considered a major break in discovering more of SCP-5599’s profile however we are no closer in figuring out why it was initially in the Foundation Servers to begin with. Foundation I.T. has finally located the file path it has accessed but it has locked the path behind a code that is being decoded.
