Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a transparent, hermetically sealed lockbox within a soundproof storage locker in the Site-██ Secure Item Storage Unit. Each of the 10 holes of SCP-XXXX is to be individually sealed by custom-made rubber inserts. SCP-XXXX’s containment chamber and rubber inserts are to be fully examined once a day for any storage equipment failure. In the event of equipment failure, Site Director is to be notified immediately. SCP-XXXX is not to be activated by any means without the explicit approval of at least two members of the O5 council.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an antique custom-made 8-hole Hohner diatonic harmonica.¹ SCP-XXXX is abnormally large (approximately 2 times larger than a standard 8-hole harmonica), making it significantly easier to play singular notes. Carbon-14 dating on the interior of SCP-XXXX suggests that the object has been in use since the year ████, although the company Hohner was not founded until 1857 by its namesake Mathias Hohner.²

The anomalous effects of SCP-XXXX are not apparent until the individual reeds within the object are activated by an adequate force of air. Whether this force of air comes from a deliberate attempt to play the harmonica or a stray gust of wind is irrelevant; the effect associated with the reed that is activated will occur. The 8 holes on SCP-XXXX, labeled SCP-XXXX-1 through SCP-XXXX-8 each have (or are presumed to have, in the case of the sealed reeds) two unique effects, depending on whether the wind force blows or draws on the instrument. SCP-XXXX is not affected by its anomalous properties. The effects are detailed below.

+ SCP-XXXX-1

Blow: A G note is played, consistent with other diatonic harmonicas.
Draw: An A note is played, consistent with other diatonic harmonicas.
Note: SCP-XXXX-1 is the only hole on SCP-XXXX which does not produce anomalous effects when played.

+ SCP-XXXX-2

Blow: Soap bubbles are emitted from the backside of SCP-XXXX throughout the duration of the reed’s activation. The composition of the soap emitted does not match any currently manufactured soap products.
Draw: Regardless of the length that SCP-XXXX-2 is drawn for, the produced effect is always the same

+ SCP-XXXX-3

Blow: SCP-XXXX will broadcast a 10”x10” image (with accompanied audio) onto the surface behind it (regardless of distance), similar to a projector, throughout the duration of the reed’s activation. The image broadcasted is what appears to be an alternating live feed between the interior and exterior of a bowling alley³, with a few key abnormalities. Most importantly, all of the individuals in the feed stare at the camera for the entire duration of the recording, regardless of activity. Another key difference is the lack of bowling pins in any of the lanes. The patrons of the establishment simply roll their bowling balls through empty lanes.
Draw:

+ SCP-XXXX-4

Blow: Increases the eccentricity of the Moon’s orbit by approximately 2.213% per second throughout the duration of the reed’s activation. The effects of such a drastic change to the Earth’s largest satellite are massive, as tidal patterns completely transform.
Draw: An active volcano will immediately begin to form within the “Ring of Fire” in the Pacific Ocean. The formation process takes around 22 days to complete, on average. All of the volcanoes created as a result of drawing SCP-XXXX-4 have consistently erupted within a week of formation. The most notable of these volcanoes include █████ ███ ██████, █████ █████████, and ██████ ████ ███████.
Note: SCP-XXXX-4 takes notably greater effort to activate compared to the other holes on SCP-XXXX

+ SCP-XXXX-5

Blow: N/A
Draw: N/A
Note: SCP-XXXX-5 appears to have been permanently sealed with molten brass. In the interest of safety, the seal is not to be removed or tampered with.

+ SCP-XXXX-6

Blow: All 5 of the frequencies that make up SCP-1012 are simultaneously broadcasted. Expected effects will occur, most notably the collective disintegration of all particles within the proximity of SCP-XXXX.
Draw: Both of the antiphase Frequencies (B’ and D’) created to help counter SCP-1012 are simultaneously broadcasted.

+ SCP-XXXX-7

Blow: The atmospheric temperature of Earth will immediately begin to decrease at a rate of .03C per second throughout the duration of the reed’s activation.
Draw: The ambient temperature of the airspace adjacent to the hole of SCP-XXXX immediately reaches 300,000C. Expected effects of such a large increase in local temperature include structural damage of nearby objects, mass death of nearby personnel, and potential containment breaches.
