Item #: SCP-5043
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5043 is to be contained in a locked 2 X 2 meter steel box. This box is not to be unlocked without the authority of Dr. ██████, who has been assigned to hide the key away from all other staff members. Cameras have been placed both inside and outside the 1.82 X 2.43 m containment cell and are monitored at all times, to prevent an attempt to use or steal SCP-5043.
Description: SCP-5043 is a 1 meter trumpet, dating back to approximately 530 B.C. After chemical analysis, the trumpet was determined to be composed of beryllium bronze, is impervious to rust, cracks, and damage of any kind. Despite this, there are ruins in an unknown language carved into the bell. These ruins have have been translated by On-site links to read "The Sound of Angels"
SCP-5043 can be played by any test subject, despite their intelligence, educational background, or musical ability, but the subject playing SCP-5043 will always die after use. The music played by SCP-5043, no matter what the subject attempts to play, will be heard as "Amazing Grace", despite not being written until 1772 and published in 1779. Once the song is finished, subject will bleed from holes that appear on both hands and feet, and will suffocate. The presence of stigmata1 has shown up on all subjects who have used SCP-5043.
When the subject expires, an entity, thereafter referred to as SCP-5043-1 will appear. SCP-5043-1 is a floating, circular creature with six wings, twelve eyes on the "body", with four more eyes surrounding one larger eye, floating in the middle of the body. Despite floating, SCP-5043-1 does not appear to use its wings to fly, or expend energy at all to stay afloat, and will only use the wings once SCP-5043-1 is ready to leave, runs out of time, and departs by flying up towards the ceiling of the containment cell, passing through the ceiling as if it was air. SCP-5043-1 cannot be tracked, and has not been seen flying from outside the facility. Where the entity travels to when it leaves it unknown.
SCP-5043-2 has the ability to communicate telepathically with humans, and will always start an encounter by projecting the words "Fear Not" into a persons head. SCP-5043-2 is benign to humans, and claims it is not capable of hurting them, even if it wanted to. SCP-5043-2 claims it is summoned by playing SCP-5043, and will be summoned for an indeterminate amount of time depending on who the subject is that uses SCP-5043, although a correlation between subject and time SCP-5043-2 spends conversing has yet to be determined. Staff are not to engage in violence, either in front of or directed at SCP-5043-22, as this will have no effect other than SCP-5043-2 immediately departing. SCP-5034-2 cannot be photographed, and no audio can be recorded from the telepathy, although clear communication is possible.
Addendum 5611.1: Discovery
SCP-5611 was brought to foundation attention on ██/██/2020 by a civilian archaeologist, named Edward Miller, who discovered it while exploring ruins in the [DATA EXPUNGED] near the Dead Sea. The man was later interviewed by Foundation staff in ███████ prison, as he was blamed for the murder of another civilian, a friend of the subject who played SCP-5611 and subsequently died.
Addendum 5043.2: Experiment Logs
Experiment 5032.A
Subject: D-81624 assigned to test SCP-5034. D-81624 had a history of violence and sexual assault, and was considered disposable by foundation researchers, who wanted to determine the effects of SCP-5034.
Procedure: Subject showed signs of stigmata and began choking, before passing out and dying. Autopsy results showed the cause of death to be suffocation.
Results: SCP-5034-2 appears, confirming Edward Miller's account, as the researchers all clearly hear Fear Not, despite no audio being recorded. Staff do not engage SCP-5034-2, and the entity flaps its wings, vanishing into the ceiling.
Analysis: Edward Miller is released from foundation custody, and given amnesics. Another test is scheduled to attempt to communicate with SCP-5034-2.
Experiment 5032.B
Subject: D-29593, a subject with a history of pedophilia, was instructed to play SCP-5034 in exchange for cigarettes, and was not informed of the effects.
Procedure: D-29593 underwent the same effects of SCP-5034, and the autopsy results showed the same cause of death as D-81624. Dr.██████ volunteered to attempt to converse with SCP-5034-2.
Results: It was discovered that the presence of SCP-5034-2 alone will prevent recording equipment of any kind from functioning. Despite efforts, the interview between Dr.██████ and SCP-5034-2 could not be captured, researchers are aware that the conversation recorded would have been one-sided, but were still disappointed in the problem this presents.
Analysis: Dr.██████ wrote down the details of their conversation, and was able to share some information with the researchers, agreeing to take a polygraph test while debriefing the other staff. After hearing Fear not from inside his head, Dr.██████ asked SCP-5034-2 what he should call it, and the entity claimed to not have a name that humans would comprehend. When Dr.██████ asks what SCP-5034-2 exactly is, the entity responds that it is a Seraph3, and that it is, "one of the first". SCP-5034 confirms that it is an angel, and, while looking at D-29593, claims that "that one wasn't enough for a lot of time". SCP-5032-2 then flapped its wings, before vanishing into the ceiling again.
Experiment 5034.C
Subject: Due to SCP-5034-2's claim of being angelic, a roman catholic D-class was selected to play SCP-5034, in order to determine if he would survive the process due to his faith.
Procedure: D-12644 did play SCP-5034, but soon began bleeding and choking, passing away within range of both previous D-class personnel. Dr.Bright was selected to interview SCP-5032-2, using the body of [REDACTED]. Dr.Bright was selected to observe how the entity would respond to a human with a connected to On-site links
Results: Dr.Bright spoke to SCP-5034-2 for some time, and wrote down every word the entity "spoke" into his head, allowing for a transcript of the interview.
Experiment 5034.D
Subject: D-49661 was picked at random to play SCP-5032
Procedure: D-49661 showed no difference in effects compared to other D-class who played SCP-5032. Dr.Andrews conducts the interview, repeating Dr.Brights plan of writing every sentence down word for word, and agreeing to take a polygraph test after the interview, to ensure that every word written was in fact from SCP-5034.2. When SCP-5034.2 was visible Dr.Andrews noticed that the entity appeared to be wounded, a red liquid dripping from its body. This liquid, designated SCP-5034-3, was later examined by the chemistry team and proven to be red wine with an alcohol percentage of 15%.
Results: After the interview, Dr.Andrews both tore and consumed the interview log, after attempting to attack SCP-5034.2, which dissipated as soon as Dr.Andrews grew close. During the exit interview, Dr.Andrews, while attached to the polygraph, says SCP-5034.2 explained to him that Heaven and Hell will always be at war, and that Heavens army grows stronger when humans are moral, while Hell grows stronger when humans are evil. SCP-5034.2 also explains that while human behavior influences the war, the war also influences humanity, atrocities being committed when Hell is on the winning side, such as genocide. When asked why this information made him destroy the log, Dr.Andrews reveals that he asked SCP-5034.2 where he is going, and SCP-5034.2 answered him. Dr.Andrews gets up and leaves the room, retreating into his office.
Experiment 5034.E
Subject: D-14221 and D-14222, a set of D-class twins in custody for homicide, were selected for Experiment 5034.E, in order to determine if their relationship as siblings would change any variables of the process, however, D-14221 was killed upon playing SCP-5034, and D-14222 was not told of his brothers death before the interview, being brought into the cell after SCP-5034-2 had already appeared.
Procedure: D-14222 was told to write down everything that was said between himself and SCP-5034.2, and the interview was conducted.
Interviewer: [D-14222]
Interviewed: [SCP-5034-2]SCP-5043-2: [FEAR NOT]
D-14222:: [I was told to ask you about Hell?]
SCP-5034-2: [Why ask? You will see it soon enough]
D-14222: [Wait, what the [REDACTED]? I'm actually going to Hell? I know I've made mistakes but suffering for eternity doesn't seem fair!]
SCP-5034-2: [I can only see where you are destined, not where you will end up. Humans can use their free will to change their fate, first by changing their actions and then themselves. [Pauses] You seem very calm, for someone who just lost a brother.]
D-14222: [My…my brother is dead? How?]
SCP-5034-2: [He blew into The Horn and perished, it is the cost of summoning a Seraph.]D-14222: [[Speaking to researchers in the observation chamber]You bastards! You killed him! Where…if i'm going to Hell, where did he end up?]
SCP-5034-2: [Redacted][End Log]
Analysis: D-14222 had to be sedated after the interview, and, wanting a recount of the exact nature of Hell, Dr.██████ agrees to temporarily kill D-14222 and revive him moments later, running an experiment later named "The Lazarus Switch". D-14222's brain and body functions ceased, and revival was a success, subject only expiring for 5.2 minutes. Upon revival, D-14222 began shrieking and rambling, screaming "Igne Natura Renovatur Integra!"4, before dying again from shock.
Experiment 5034.F
Subject: D-16942 was selected randomly to use SCP-5034, and expired same as the other test subjects. D-64911 was selected to converse with SCP-5034-2, due to her repentance and desire to make up for her past crimes, involving child abuse and murder, to determine if there is a measurable scale for a persons morality and eventual afterlife destination.
Procedure:D-16942, due to her involvement in other tests, has lost her right hand, and was unable to write down the interview, but did agree to summarize it to the best of her ability for researchers. D-16942 was found trustworthy, doe to her compliance and overall attitude toward the foundation and staff. Nothing new or unusual occurred in the exchange between D-16942 and SCP-5034-2, although SCP-5034-2 was shown to have dried SCP-5034-3 on its wings before flying away.
Results: D-16942 later debriefed researchers on the interview, and was told by SCP-5034-2 that she is destined for a joyous afterlife, as she was judged to have made up for her past sins. Wanting to repeat the Lazarus Switch, and with the assumption that a subject returned from Heaven would be more cognitive than a subject returned from Hell, D-16942 agreed to be put down and brought back, elated at the idea of catching a glimpse of the afterlife.

Experiment 5034.G
Subject: D-32469 selected as punishment for attacking Dr.██████, subject passed away while using SCP-5034-2.
Procedure: D-51723 selected to interview SCP-5034-2.
Note: The O5 council approved and insisted on another experiment to learn the scale of morality, or what exactly could alter a persons fate before they die. D-51723 is to [REDACTED] and kill D-58374, and then converse with SCP-5034-2 again.
Experiment 5034.G.2
Subject: D-51723, although traumatized, agreed to interview SCP-5034-2 again. D-81920 selected at random to play SCP-5034-2, and passed away without incident.
SCP-5034-2: [FEAR NOT]
SCP-5034-2: [Hell]
D-51723: [But….no! I was better now!]
SCP-5034-2: [You killed and [REDACTED] that innocent woman.]
D-51723: [They made me!]SCP-5034-2: [No, you had a choice. You could have chosen to be punished, or even killed, but you choose the selfish path instead. You will see those who have played the horn in the flames.]
D-51723: [The ones who…You mean the people who played SCP-5034 go to Hell also?]SCP-5034-2: [Yes, it is the cost of summoning me. (The center eye looks up at the observation deck) Captors, I speak directly to you now. Your masters have known about this from the start, and have proceeded with your tests. You have sacrificed human lives for knowledge about death, and will be punished for it. You may even see your sacrifices down there, and we'll see if they forgive you. They might, eternity is a long time, anything can happen.]
[At this, SCP-5034-2 spreads its wings and flies away, while D-51723 begins to sob uncontrollably.]
NOTE: All testing involving SCP-5043 must go through Dr.██████, who has been put in charge of containment by the O5 council. No tests are planned for the future, and SCP-5043 is to stay contained, as the only way it poses a threat is by using it.
NOTE: For the last time, we simply cannot afford to neglect D-class as a resource, and cannot change containment procedures based on SCP-5043-2's claims of hell! D-class are a tool to us, nothing more. -Dr. ██████
