Nishonaji:SCP-4984

Item #: SCP-4984

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4984 does not require any form of containment either than basic security checks and barriers to prevent intruders due to SCP-4984-B's compliance. Should an anomalous affect take place within any of the subjects, the O5 Council is to be informed immediately. Especially if it concerns anything within the weapons section.

Although the building looks abandoned due to its lack of branding and has rarely seen newcomers before its containment, all entrances to the building have been sealed off by the foundation, only to be inspected by D-Class personnel and researchers. Anyone exiting the site must pass a short interview of the experience and should also ask questions about the basement. If the answer is identical or like SCP-4984, the subject is to be given an amnestic to counteract the anomalous affects.

Personnel attempting to obtain any of these objects will be terminated on-site as quickly as possible.

Description: SCP-4984-A is a large, grey retail building found in ██████, New Jersey. The area it was found in was turned into Site-██. While those who enter the building will not feel anomalous affects from it immediately, prolonged exposure within the building starting from 24 hours will begin to show side effects. The effects are as follows:

  • 24 Hours: Victim will show signs of understanding in the facility, being able to name objects within the building, Their exact function and where they are located.
  • 48 Hours: Victim will reject any offer to leave and will retaliate if forcibly removed.
  • One Week: The victim will consistently keep the interior of the building clean, leading to physical exhaustion from time to time.
  • Two Weeks: The victim will refer to itself as a staff member of the store and will act accordingly. When questioned about the basement, the victim will react harshly. This is the last stage where a victim can recover, usually taking up to 2 months of being out of the presence of -A.
  • One Month: The victim has dissapeared. When SCP-4984-B is questioned about ther wherabouts, 4984-B will reply: "They've been employed" And nothing more. All victims are refered to as SCP-4984-C and are considered lost causes for the foundation.

SCP-4984-B: It is a young caucasian male, supposedly in his mid-twenties and sports a grey vest and black pants. It seems to call itself "Derick" and asks all visitors to call him so. When asked about the origins of anything within 4948-A, -B will either answer vaguely, or not at all. When the time within the area becomes later than 10:00 P.M EST, "Derick" will ask everyone to leave the building, and that the store is closed for today. Those who do not comply or go agaist its orders will be sternly ordered to leave. If this continues, -A will automaticaly close the building for the night by locking all exits and closing all windows. This is an ability only -B can use. After this, SCP-4984 then proceeds to ████████████. Currently only two sightings have been viewed, both retelling similar events.

SCP-4984-A: The interior of the building Is built with 7 total floors, each one coresponding to a type of item available for sale:

Basement:███████████████████████████████████

Ground Floor: The only location that -A will reside in unless asked otherwise. The ground floor will sell foods and drinks of multiple well known and less known brands. The majority of food currently has shown no signs of anomalous properties. All items within -A are refered to as SCP-4984-D. Some of the food does contain anomalous affects, like the "Living Food" Item that turns into the original version of the item eaten after the first bite is taken, usually with the bite mark imbedded into it. This usually affects meat, and requires those who are heavily mentaly affected to take medication. The affects wear off within the hour. All food within the ground floor is edible.

Floor 1: The first floor consists of a clothing store, and changes to the wearers' preferences in clothing. Another anomalous affect is that each type of clothing is split into 5 different sections; Male, female, boys, girls and infants. Those who come into contact with clothing and do not meet the requirements (Like a man touching clothing from the infants section) is turned into the type of person suitable for the clothing touched. Once the clothing is purchased, the anomalous affects dissapear, but the victim's apearance doesn't change. Some forms of armor is available within this section, All of which contain anomalous properties. The "Shadow Cloak" Enabled all who wore it to dissapear upon contact with a shadow, becoming invisible for the entirity of the night until the cloak was taken off.

Floor 2: The second floor houses furniture from lamp shades to beds. Each bed or couch instills a sense of euphoria and laziness in anyone sitting on them, sometimes making it impossible for a victim to leave the bed for days. All electrical apliances seem to be able to work without being plugged into the wall. Some items (Rugs, lamps, etc.) Will hold properties as if it is possesed, flailing and attacking all that come near it. Rugs are the most lethal, as they can quickly suffocate a victim. -B allows all personnel to lay down on -D specimins but will not allow shoes on them "For sanitary reasons".

Floor 3: This floor contains electronic devices and toys of multiple brands. These devices have no password attached to them and like the lamps on floor 2, require no charging. Although, one computer styled like the Apple Macintosh is locked by a password currently unknown by the foundation. Attempts to breach the computer's security systems have proved futile. -B states that under no circumstances can testing be used on it.

Floor 4: The final floor is only allowed access to those over the age of 18. Anyone below the age is put into a vegetative state until they are removed.

Roof: The roof has no anomalous properties, though personnel have reported that in good weather conditions a sense of calmness can be felt.
