Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard containment cell which has since been additionally made into a storage closet that is only accessible to personnel with Level 3 clearance or higher. This is in accordance with the aftermath of Test XXXX-█, where it was discovered that being in an environment similar to that of a museum or antique shop makes SCP-XXXX more docile and less likely to attack, though this does not hinder its cognitive abilities and overall strength. If there is a shortage of items in SCP-XXXX's containment cell, non-anomalous items from other sites or from surrounding buildings may be brought in to keep the SCP under control. At least two MTF personnel must be stationed at the entrance to SCP-XXXX's containment cell at all times. These guards must be switched out from their posts every two months, and during their time stationed they are to have weekly meetings with a site psychologist to monitor their mental health.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a taxidermied female feline, with a head-body length of 50.8 cm and a tail length of 35.3 cm. Gene analysis from the fur of the SCP shows equal amounts of DNA from marbled cats2 and bay cats3, despite the two species having diverged from each other about 7 million years ago. Its classification as a SCP is due in no small part to SCP-XXXX's sentience. During preliminary testing, it was discovered that in addition to its anomalous behavior, SCP-XXXX is completely sentient and has an IQ equivalent to an average young child. Furthermore, SCP-XXXX has the ability to heighten the emotions of all sentient entities around it. Subjects have reported feeling a strong sense of nostalgia, depression, and increased irascibility. This effect takes longer to affect someone depending on how far away the subject is from the entity. For example, if a subject is in direct contact with SCP-XXXX it would take only three minutes for its anomalous properties to manifest, while if they were ten feet away, it would take at least fifty minutes4. When a subject is exposed to SCP-XXXX for a minimum of fifteen hours over the course of at most two months, they become paranoid and express a fear of all people trying to approach them. This most often causes the subject to use any and all means necessary to avoid coming into contact with other humans, including self-mutilation and extreme violence. Both the subjects and SCP-XXXX seem to express some level of remorse for what they are doing, but seem to have no control over it.

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP

Description: SCP-X927 (it refers to itself and can be found in local mythology as "Xchinkril") is a semi-aquatic creature located in the southern Atlantic Ocean. From cell and tissue samples the creature appears to be at the very least 1.4 million years old, and can “update” or evolve its bodily systems and traits rapidly to adapt to its situation. Currently SCP-X927 is adapted to living most comfortably in depths of around 1,000 meters. Oddly enough, the creature appears to have several traits that are unable to be changed. These are listed below.

  • SCP-X927 cannot change the curved shape of its spinal column.
  • The SCP always has at least a thin covering of fur over its entire body, minus any fins or solely aquatic features, and noticeably shorter on its head, legs, and tail.
  • SCP-X927 has several mechanical characteristics that are odd in that the entity existed far before humanity would have had the ability to build anything even close to them.

SCP-X927 communicates with chirps, trills, foghorn-like trumpeting sounds, and a series of sounds that have been described by one biologist assigned to researching it as “a cat coughing up a hairball, but it's also gargling lemon juice”. It appears to have a limited understanding of human languages, mostly Ancient Latin, but cannot communicate in them. Its “language” is built to convey ideas and concepts rather than specific words. SCP-X927 appears to feel most indifferent towards humans, though its actions seem to have a bored hostility to them more often than not. It seems to comply with most of the foundation's requests because of a dull intrigue and to humor personnel rather than because of fear or a wish to help further research.
