Item #: SCP- XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-1, SCP-XXXX-2, and SCP-XXX-3 are to be locked in a Faraday box and kept in secure storage. An area of at least thirty five (35) meters must be kept clear of any electronic device capable of accepting input, any writing implements, or paper and notice of such must be posted.
Description: SCP-XXXX-1 is a yellow No. 2 pencil with six (6) sides and the words, "The Hand That Writes, The Voice That Speaks" written on one of the sides in green. SCP-XXXX-1 causes subjects within thirty five (35) meters to be unable to correctly or safely write, type, or dictate to a device certain words, phrases, characters, or acronyms. They write, type, dictate, or take an other action and are not aware of the deviation from their intended action until the completion of the act. A list of all known affected words, phrases, characters, and acronyms can be found in SCP-XXXX Table A.
SCP-XXXX-2 is a pencil top eraser in the shape of a pair of smiling lips, one side of which is well used. A portion of the interior is hallowed out and houses a GPS tracking device. SCP-XXXX-2 appears to have no anomalous properties.
SCP-XXX-3 is a note card that completely resists fire. One one side the following is the following text. "Found you :)".
Recovery: SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 were recovered on 04/08/2018 from an office in ████ New York. Field agents were dispatched after the Foundation was informed of several incidents of office workers harming themselves with writing implements. SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 were found together, balanced on the tip of SCP-XXXX-1 and spinning slowly. The incidents were covered up as a string of attacks perpetrated by disgruntled ex-employees and Class-A amnestics were applied.
Incident Report 1
On 04/16/2018 at 17:04 EST a small, unmarked package arrived at ex-Site [REDACTED] where SCP-XXXX was being contained. It had a similar appearance to packages delivered via the Foundation's own internal low clearance mailing service and in a similar manor and, therefore, aroused no suspicion. On 04/17/2018 at 01:00 EST the package burst into flame causing damage to the mail room and it's contents and setting off the fire alarms. At 01:12 Foundation staff entered an put out the fire. Where the package had been, there was an un-burned note with the following, "Found you :)" At 01:36 EST ex-Site ████ was put on full alert. On 04/18/2018 a GPS tracking device was found in SCP-XXXX-2 during testing and SCP-XXXX-2 was placed in a Faraday box until further testing. It is assumed that the GPS tracking device and the incident are related.
Test A - 04/18/2018
Procedure: SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 are to be placed on a table in a test room. The table will also have a stack of paper and a laptop placed on top of it. A chair will be placed in front of the table. The room will be monitored via cameras by Dr. Frezly and Dr. Weiss in an adjacent room. One D class personnel will enter the test chamber and will communicate via speakers with Dr.Frezly and Dr. Weiss. The D class personnel will be instructed to write and type. No notes are to be taken by Dr. Frezly or Dr. Weiss during the test.
Result: D-0436, was escorted to the test chamber and told to sit. Once seated Dr. Fresly instructed D-0436 to type the following, "abc 123".
D-0426 seems to comply, however as finishes typing, the screen displays the text, "cab 321" The camera shows that D-0436 actually typed out "cab 321" as opposed to the text anomalously changing
Dr.Frezly: D-0436, why didn't you type what I told you to?
D-0426 appears confused and looks at the laptop screen
D-0436: Huh? I thought I did.
Dr. Frezly: Please try again. This time pay close attention to what you are typing
D-0436 nods and slowly types out "cap 123" using only a single finger from each hand. D-0436 looks back at the screen and vocalizes confusion.
Dr. Frezly: Now please grab a piece of paper and pick up the pencil. Now write abc 123.
D-0436 picks up SCP-XXXX-1 with SCP-XXXX-2 attached. He begins to write, however, the camera reveals the page to say cab 321. D-0436 vocalizes distress while looking at his hands, then he pulls SCP-XXXX-2 off of SCP-XXXX-1 and begins to rapidly erase. While erasing the camera catches a glint of metal inside of SCP-XXXX-2.
Dr. Frezly: Please calm down D-0436.
After some time D-0436 calms.
Dr.Frezly: Please look inside of the eraser. I thought I saw metal inside.
D-0436 looks inside and then pulls a metal object out and holds it up to the camera. Dr. Frezly and Dr. Weiss call an end to the test, the object is identified as a GPS tracking device and is put in a Faraday box with the rest of SCP-XXXX
Analysis: This GPS locator is troubling. I think it may be tied to the fire yesterday. I want to separate SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 to see if the anomaly is tied to one or both objects and then I want to see if we can find out who is tracking this locator. Anyway, it would seem that SCP-XXXX causes scrambling of both writing and typing. I wonder how far the anomaly goes. Perhaps we shall try dictation next.
End of Test A
Test B - 04/19/2018
Result It was decided that D-0436 would be used again as he was aware of SCP-XXXX's anomalous affect. D-0436 was escorted to the chamber with SCP-XXXX and instructed to write or type whatever he felt like and anything that Dr. Frezly or Dr. Weiss instructed.
After 4 hours of testing Dr. Weiss called and end to the test.
Analysis: We have discovered several things that, when written or typed are affected by SCP-XXXX. We have made a table and will continue to update it as new phrases or words are discovered.
End of Test B
Test C- 04/20/2018
Procedure: SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 are to be placed in separate test rooms with a measuring line with intervals of five (5) meters painted on the floor to and tested independently. The rooms will be monitored via cameras by Dr. Frezly and Dr. Weiss in an adjacent room. One D class personnel will enter first one chamber and then the next and will communicate via speakers with Dr.Frezly and Dr. Weiss. the D class personnel will be instructed to write at each five (5) meter marker until writing is no longer scrambled. No notes are to be taken by Dr. Frezly or Dr. Weiss during the test.
Result for SCP-XXXX-1: It was decided that D-0436 would be used again as he was aware of SCP-XXXX's anomalous affect. D-0436 was escorted to the chamber with SCP-XXXX-1. He was given a pen and paper and told to stand on the 5 meter line and write "abc 123". His writing was scrambled. D-0436 was told to move back to the 10 meter line and write "abc 123". His writing was scrambled. D-0436 was told to move back by 5 meter intervals until the 35 meter mark where his writing was not scrambled.
Dr. Frezly called an end to this part of the test.
Result for SCP-XXXX-2: It was decided that D-0436 would be used again as he was aware of SCP-XXXX's anomalous affect. D-0436 was escorted to the chamber with SCP-XXXX-2. He was given a pen and paper and told to stand on the 5 meter line and write "abc 123". His writing was not scrambled
Dr. Frezly called an end to the test.
Analysis: I guess SCP-XXXX-1 is the one with the anomaly. I think that SCP-XXXX-2 is just a normal pencil top eraser that was big enough to hide a small GPS tracking device. We will try dictation tomorrow.End of Test C
Test D- 04/21/2018
Procedure: SCP-XXXX-1 will be placed on a table in a test room. The table will also have a laptop with a speech to text program loaded onto it. A chair will be placed in front of the table. The room will be monitored via cameras by Dr. Frezly and Dr. Weiss in an adjacent room. One D class personnel will enter the test chamber and will communicate via speakers with Dr.Frezly and Dr. Weiss. The D class personnel will be instructed to use the speech to text program. No notes are to be taken by Dr. Frezly or Dr. Weiss during the test.
Result: It was decided that D-0436 would be used again as he was aware of SCP-XXXX's anomalous affect. D-0436 was escorted to the chamber and instructed to sit down and start the speech to text program.
Dr. Frezly: Alright, have you started the program?
D-0436: Yeah I have idiot.
Dr. Frezly: Idiot? Why do you call me that?
D-0436: Naw, all I said was idiot.
D-0436 appears to realize that he isn't saying what he means to and loudly vocalizes distress
D-0436: Come on idiot Frezly I ain't saying this on purpose. The f██k is happening?
Dr. Frezly: I understand D-0436, please clam down.
After a short pause D-0436 calms
D-0436: Okay idi- I, um. I mean Frezly. So what's with this stupid thing anyw-
D-0436 begins coughing up blood and a medical team is called in.
D-0436 ████ ████ █████████████
Dr. Frezly calls an end to the test.
Analysis: Well that was unexpected to say the least. Seems that if you say something rude about SCP-XXXX while dictating near it ya cough your lungs out. Be nice to the pencil. Noted.
End of Test D
Incident report 2
On 04/26/2018 a man was killed following an attempted delivery of a package to ex Site-████. The package contained a C4 explosive device. The man was disguised as a courier for the Foundation's internal low clearance mail service and was killed after he failed to follow the updated security protocols, then attempted to attack security. The wallet he was carrying had a driver's licence belonging to ████ in ████ New York. A team was sent to the apartment of ████ and found him dead and in the early stages of decay. Upon searching the apartment SCP-████ was discovered and e-mails with information about the location and security of ex Site ████ were sent to unknown parties from a laptop.
Notice From The 05 Counsel
As of 05/02/2018 The 05 counsel has determined that site ████ is no longer a viable site for the safe containment of SCP's due to recent attacks and due to the location of site ████ becoming known to dangerous GoIs. All SCPs in Site ████ are to be discreetly relocated to Sites ████, ████, ████, and ████. From this point on Site ████ will now be known as ex Site ████.
