Illustration of SCP XXXX manifesting, drawn by subject residing within it.

Seeking Greenlight: yes

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP XXXX is to be kept as part of a 5m x 5m x 5m steel cube, submerged in 10m of ethanol(C2H6O). The cube is to be suspended in the center of the pool with nylon rope. There will be two entrances to the chamber: a plastic chamber, fitted with an airlock, and running horizontally to the cube, and a plastic vertical shute running from the ceiling of the chamber to the top of the cube.

Once daily, food is to be supplied through the hole in the cube. Subject inside is to confirm wellbeing and report any anomalous happenings.
Should vital signs of the subject be found to be 0, lockdown surrounding chamber. The airlock is to be sealed and a new D-class personnel is to be positioned within the cube immediately by way of the shute. Afterwards, the chamber must remain in lockdown for 24 hours before opening back up.

Description: SCP XXXX is a phenomenon that manifests as a green gelatinous mass that has the capability to meld with numerous types of building materials, including brick, wood, steel, glass, and stone (see Addendum-1). When melded in this manner, the entity assumes the chemical composition of the material so long as it maintains contact, save for the following properties: 1. The material is, as far as recorded, indestructible. 2. SCP XXXX can manipulate, restructure, and elongate the material to well past its original volume.

SCP XXXX primarily uses these capabilities to meld with a building or structure, becoming an instance of SCP XXXX-1. Once melded, the entity and the building become functionally indistinguishable, and no known method has been successful in retrieving SCP XXXX from SCP XXXX-1. SCP XXXX will only meld with a structure if there is a human subject within it.

When a human subject is within SCP XXXX-1, it will manipulate the walls around entrances and windows to completely cover all manner of exiting the building, trapping the subject inside. Notably, every time SCP XXXX-1 does this, it manifests a hole in the wall adjacent to the original exit approximately half a meter in diameter. While the reasons for this occurrence are unknown, it makes it possible for food to be delivered to the subject. Subjects inside SCP XXXX-1 have reported strange manipulations and events caused by SCP XXXX (see event log).

Addendum-1: Through extraneous testing, a limited list of materials that SCP XXXX is capable of inhabiting is provided:

SCP XXXX is capable of traversing and manipulating the following substances: Brick, stone, wood, glass, steel, concrete, cardboard, asphalt, and plaster

SCP XXXX is not capable of traversing and manipulating the following substances:
Fabric, plastic, paper, organic tissue, lead, in addition, SCP was unable to manipulate or meld with water, but could move through it.

Event log: (this is a couple of examples, I’ll write more in the future, but this is more of a proof of concept. The central narrative is that the SCP is experimenting on whoever is inside it. I will admit I'm not sure what the best way to illustrate this is)

Circumstances: This is a log of subject residing inside of SCP XXXX-1. Subject at the beginning of containment of SCP XXXX is recorded as D-16723, and referred to as such. Once daily at 8:00, subject is delivered food and in turn gives an entry into this log from the day prior. All entries in which nothing abnormal occurred have been omitted. Subject integrated into SCP XXXX-1 8/4/20 (in which the entrances were sealed behind them per SCP XXXX’s effects). Of note: the first two entries are transcripts of a verbal report, as they occurred prior to the implementation of the written log.

13/4/20 “All of the entrances between rooms got smaller, it was a pretty tight squeeze when I had to use the bathroom”
Notes As this was the first recorded unnatural event occurring within SCP-XXXX-1, a wireless camera was administered inside for documentation.
14/4/20 “Some of that green goop went into the camera, and then it turned into a metal sphere”
Notes Subject instructed to keep a written log
29/4/20 “The walls moved around till I was in the middle of this big maze. I wandered around for a while before making it back to the living room.”
Notes
5/5/20 “The house put me in this room and every few minutes a statue of me would come out of the wall in a wacky pose. Obviously that’s creepy enough, but I quickly figured out that if I didn’t mimic the pose of the statue, these needles would come out of the floor and poke through my shoes. Once I did the pose a new one would come up. We did that for a few hours before it just stopped, and I was back in the living room. I think it’s someone else’s turn to be stuck in the freak house”
Notes This instance is remarkably similar to experiments done on rats to test conditioning methods. Pending request for further testing into the intelligence of SCP XXXX.
Incident XXXX-a D-16723 lifesigns ceased. They were found at the bottom of the chamber containing SCP XXXX-1, having drowned in ethanol. It is unknown how they were able to exit SCP XXXX-1. The automatic containment procedures activated and a new subject: D-83228 was integrated into SCP XXXX-1.
