SCP 4273 - "Skinners"
As you might have guessed by this creature's name, there is more than one.
SCP 4273 is a humanoid creature, seeming almost completely human from afar. However, when you get a close look at the creature, you will see the horrifying truth. Its skin is leathery and an unhealthy brown color. Its eyes are completely white, indicating the creature cannot see. Its primary senses are hearing and touch (feeling the vibrations on its leathery skin). The creature itself is slightly smaller than the average person, standing at an average of 5 feet. The creature does not wear any clothes and never stays in the same place for long.
SCP 4273's capabilities.
This SCP might be small in size, but it is much stronger than expected, and it is able to move long distances in a blink of an eye. It can change the shape of its limbs to take on any appearance, from wings to almost sword-like appendages. It does this by unhooking its joints and repositioning them, putting so much tension on the skin that it becomes sharp enough to cut wood with ease. In addition to turning its body into a weapon, SCP 4273 can also use its unique ability to shapeshift; however, it cannot change the color of its skin. The most unsettling thing about SCP 4273 is the clicking and popping noises it makes when unhooking its joints. You might be thinking, "if I can hear it when it is close, I can get away," but you're wrong. Once SCP 4273 has chosen its target, there is no chance of it escaping. Even if its prey turned to fight it, there would be no hope because SCP 4273's skin is entirely impervious to projectiles of any kind. The only way to har an SCP 4273 is by extreme blunt force trauma.
The story behind SCP 4273
SCP 4273 is considered to be a "Frankenstein's monster" case. Its species was created by a German scientist in world war 2, who hoped to create the ultimate weapon. While creating it, he did not want the creature to be too smart to make complex decisions for itself. He also didn't want it to be too dumb to understand the concept of words. So he created a creature with canine level intelligence, believing the canine loyalty would also be transferred…It didn't. The scientist's biggest mistake was creating multiple of these creatures and giving them the ability to reproduce. Once he awoke them, they immediately turned on the scientist and all the other personnel in the area. The creatures managed to escape the lab and made it to a nearby forest, where they followed their instinct, hunt, eat, drink, reproduce.
SCP 4273 current whereabouts
SCP 4273 is confined to the forests of Europe. Some remains have been found in Russia and Africa. However, it seems they are not well enough adapted to live in those climates. But the foundation speculates that there could be more in southern Asia, as the weather there is similar to Europe. This SCP might be dangerous to any travelers; however, it does not seem to travel outside of the forested areas and seems to steer clear of heavily populated areas. These creatures are regarded as highly dangerous, but as long as you stay away from the forests the creature calls home, you will live.
