NOTICE FROM THE SITE-52 CONTAINMENT TASKFORCE

The fact that the incident leading to Site-52's current situation wasn't any worse is a miracle. That it can be successfully operated at all is incredible, and I would like to commend all of the current Researchers assigned to the Site for their performance in the face of what was quite frankly a massive cock-up.

Site Security has improved markedly since we implemented the recommendation in the postmortem reports. Site-52 is among the most productive and safe work environments in the Foundation. This does mean we should rest on our laurels.

All Research staff are to familiarize themselves with this document. We cannot allow this to happen again, at any scale.

SCP-XXXX-A is to be kept in a Safe-class storage locker in Site-52 to minimize the risk posed by containment breaches.

The thaumaturgic processes powering SCP-XXXX-C-1's effect are projected to dissipate in 50-100 years, provided that any "Caustic Workplace" incidents that occur are completely de-escalated within 1-2 days. Containment thus focuses on preventing and swiftly stopping further "Caustic Workplace" incidents.

Site-52 is under indefinite managerial quarantine. All personnel assigned to Site-52 must bear the rank of "Researcher," and be granted the powers and privileges of Researchers in the Foundation bureaucracy. Any approved visitors are to be temporarily promoted or demoted to the same rank, and given the same powers and privileges.

In the event that a non-Researcher must be present at Site-52, and the above is bureaucratically unfeasible, the visitor may be let in once the Site is vacated.2 Multiple visitors may likewise be let in, as long as all bear the same rank, powers, and privileges in all organizations they are members of.

Enough De-Escalation-Liasons are to be trained and employed as to guarantee a minimum response time of 30 minutes to "Caustic Workplace" incidents, with redundancy. Information about DEL responsibilities and DEL training can be found in Addendum 3.

All personnel assigned to Site-52 are required to read and take a short quiz on the material presented in the Site-52 Employee Handbook, including sections of this document. Access to the information within this document's Addenda 1 and 2 is to be denied to personnel assigned to Site-52. Amnesticization procedures to this effect are described in Section 6, Subsection 2 of the Site-52 Operations Manual.

The following items are categorically forbidden on-premises at Site-52:

  • Persons aged 0-17, regardless of rank;
  • Non-human lifeforms that are capable of cognition, but do not bear the rank "Researcher" and the powers and privileges associated with that rank;
  • Persons non-distantly3 related to persons located on-Site;
  • Persons that have at any point been D-Class personnel, regardless of rank;
  • Persons that have received a diploma in "Business" or another field in Academic Subgroup ∆-6;
  • Persons that have at any point described themselves as an "Entrepreneur" or "Thought Leader;"
  • Persons that have at any point professed religious views in the past;
  • Persons that have a pious connection to a deity.

Personnel may not be transferred to Site-52 unless all of the following conditions are met:

  • The transfer is being made with the enthusiastic consent of the person transferred;
  • The person transferred has been vetted by at least 2 Foundation exorcists to pass Criterion PI of the Site-52 Transfer Checklist;
  • The person transferred scores within the 75th percentile on the 5-point S52 Cooperation Index;
  • The person transferred has been employed at the Foundation for past 5 years, and has not had a negative HR report filed against them in that time;
  • The person transferred has maintained positive relations with every employee at the Site;
  • Site staff vote in at least a 2:3 majority to continue with the transfer.

Off-site HR services are to be made available to any Site-52 employee, at any hour.4 All HR requests, comments, and complaints are to be responded to within 30 minutes, following procedure outlined in the Site-52 Employee Handbook. Normal privacy restrictions do not apply to HR reports filed in Site-52.5

In case of an attack upon Site-52, Foundation security staff housed in the surrounding Site-52S are to order immediate evacuation of research staff, and keep in regular contact with higher-ranking off-site personnel throughout the incident. Any prisoners taken are to be housed in the Site-52S detention centre. Priority is to be given to transporting prisoners elsewhere than Site-52.

In case of a "Caustic Workplace" incident, SCP-XXXX-B instances are to be contacted by any available DELs, coordinating with Site-52S security staff. Procedure SCP-XXXX-ALPHA is to be performed once contact is established.

If the managerial quarantine proves unfeasible to maintain, extraction and transport of stored anomalies to Site-52S is to commence, all personnel are to be extracted, and standard area-affecting anomaly containment measures are to be deployed.

Description

SCP-XXXX is a presently-inactive mind-affecting phenomenon localized around Site-52's official premises. SCP-XXXX-A is a management-advice book titled Leaders Are Dicks, published in 2006 by BAM Business6. SCP-XXXX-A's activation in Site-52-Incident-001 led to Site-52's official premises (hereafter called "the workplace,") turning into SCP-XXXX. Whenever a person7 in a leadership position is present within SCP-XXXX, the anomalous effect activates, and the inciting person becomes an instance of SCP-XXXX-B.

The exact heuristic for a person to transform into an instance of SCP-XXXX-B is presently unknown. Foundation researchers have found enough reliable 'indicating factors' to vet personnel entering Site-52, and further investigation of the heuristic has been deemed unnecessary to effective managerial quarantine.

LIST OR TABLE OF INDICATING FACTORS

SCP-XXXX-B instances will attempt to follow the management advice given in SCP-XXXX-A. New SCP-XXXX-B instances will not form if one is already present in the workplace. Recorded SCP-XXXX-B instances have always managed to produce results only slightly worse than what would be expected with Foundation-standard management styles.

TIMELINE OF WHAT HAPPENS IN AN XXXX-B-RUN WORKPLACE:

After approximately 3 months (90 days), every technique described in the book is implemented. "Post-book" behaviour of SCP-XXXX-A instances is markedly different: they no longer care about the results their subordinates produce, and state that their intention is to torture subordinates8 Productivity drops dramatically.
