The Cotton Gin was historically used to separate cotton fiber from the cotton seeds. This anomaly would be able to separate any item into 2 components that are used to make it. The final separated pieces will depend upon what complexity the object inserted into the machine is. For example, A manila folder full of papers may separate into a stack of papers and an empty manila folder. Pure lithium, however, may separate into Helium gas and Hydrogen gas. 3 Protons —> 2 Protons + 1 Proton

Elevator Pitch: An absence of spacetime that exhibits no mass, releases no radiation, and is completely undetectable. While empty space still exhibits quantum fluctuation of energy and mass, the area in question exhibits no energy or mass whatsoever. A "chunk error" in the universe. The area is located just outside the orbit of the Earth, and exists relative to the sun, so the Earth reaches close proximity to it once a year.
Central Narrative: Parascientific area was discovered by NASA's James Webb Space Telescope in late December of 2021. It is 100 times stronger than the hubble telescope, so it was able to read minor concentrated dimming of stars due to the existence of the area. A PSYCHE Special Observers team reported the discovery. A PHYSICS Assessment team handled the scientists involved in the discovery (administered amnestic drugs, etc.). Upon discovery of the parascientific area, the GOC started project Nyx, an attempt to create a permanent space station around the parascientific area. Project Nyx initially failed, and the attached narrative will follow a PTOLEMY researcher and the incident that caused the failure of the project. Project Nyx-02 was made following this.The space station went under veil as a second International Space Station (ISS-II), and was open knowledge to the public, but details on the parascientific area in question were omitted. ISS-II now serves as a full site, designed to mediate the destruction of paranormal objects that have proven difficult to terminate using conventional means.
Hook/Attention-Grabber: The parascientific area could be used by the GOC to destroy several paranormal objects, creating an interesting and almost hypocritical atmosphere. The viewpoint narrative of the researcher can show the utilitarian nature of the GOC, and adds an interesting juxtaposition between the objectivity of the reports, and the subjectiveness of the story.
Additional Notes: The incident will not be reported on in detail in the report, only the narrative. The narrative may be located on a separate page, with a link in the casefile report to the story.
