1915 mugshot of first confirmed SCP-XXXX host, obtained from Connecticut records.

Item Number: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Neutralized Thaumiel

Archived Containment Procedures: Last observed subject hosting SCP-XXXX killed by unknown means while under custody of county services January 1916; anomaly tentatively reclassified as neutralized.

Cases of arson reports within the local region are to be investigated for potential reappearances of SCP-XXXX.

Special Containment Procedures: In addition to following procedures, standard "Thaumiel" protection protocol is to be observed.

The subject hosting SCP-XXXX is to be held within a large chamber and supplied sustenance through intravenous injection whenever necessary. Should protocol to suppress local activity from groups of interest prove necessary, the mass is to be immolated in a controlled environment and extinguished shortly after.

Any documentation marked for incineration must first be approved by the antimemetics division, the thaumaturgy division, and the RAISA to confirm the necessity of SCP-XXXX use.

Refer to INCIDENT STONESFORD S-02 for further details on effects of said immolation.

Description: SCP-XXXX is the anomalous manifestation of flammable material near or from the subject which hosts the anomaly, hereafter referred to as the 'host'. These materials have included wood scraps and dried grasses, kerosene, paper, gunpowder, gasoline, crude oil, and a substance with properties similar to that of rocket fuel which, however, burned at 300% efficiency when compared to current rocket fuels.

The most commonly observed method of ignition involves the host the planned arson site and producing a lighter from somewhere on their person, at which point the production of the flammable material begins. Once the material has filled the area, the host ignites the lighter and the material. Historical data and recent testing have confirmed that the host is neither invulnerable nor resistant to any ignition or subsequent fires caused by the materials produced by SCP-XXXX.

The manifestation of the flammable material from or near the host occurs most frequently in industrial centers, facilities which the host perceives as incarcerating people against their will (prisons, mental asylums/hospitals, internment camps, etc.), and financial institutions. Said manifestation is often, but not always, distressing to the host. Substances have been produced from hosts' pores and orifices, exhaled as a gaseous cloud, discovered in extreme quantities in the body mass of autopsied corpses, among other methods. (For a complete list of substances and substance production methods which have been observed in confirmed SCP-XXXX instances, see Document XXXX-2.)

The nature of the transmission vector of the anomaly itself is not understood. Autopsies on previous subjects have not revealed any foreign substances, creatures, or forces of manipulation other than the aforementioned flammable materials. Current conjecture suggests that a new host is chosen once the previous host is either permanently comatose or dead.

All hosts which have yet been confirmed share two connecting traits: every host professes a belief in anarchism at the political or personal level, and every host has or has professed intentions to have damaged or destroyed private property in the name of anarchism. In the case of a host's neutralization or death, foundation webcrawlers should cross-reference local, state, and federal American arrest records for cases of arson in locations which match known high-frequency SCP-XXXX targets. If an area has abnormally high frequencies of arson arrests or calls, foundation plants within the correlating state police force should investigate the potential for a new host. (For a complete list of hosts which have been in foundation custody, see Document XXXX-1.)

As of the most recent version of this document, the current SCP-XXXX host, Emmett █████, is in use as an anomalous documentation disposal method. On-site maintenance crews are to be present at each of the three scheduled document disposals per day. (Document disposal and neutralization procedures are outlined in Document XXXX-3.)

Addendum XXXX-1: The fire which SCP-XXXX produces has the ability to neutralize anomalous effects in documentation in the process of burning. Further than the documents proper, the information contained on the documents is neutralized through currently unknown means, so long as said information is not contained on another document. Past research has proved that this process can neutralize certain infohazards, cognitohazards, and memes. Research into practical applications of information destruction is underway as of the most recent version of this document. The greatest issue facing practical application of such measures is the sheer amount of written information as well as the amount of documentation not under Foundation control. Until such time as the mechanisms behind the information-neutralizing abilities of SCP-XXXX are better understood, this process is only to be used to destroy documents which are impossible to contain otherwise.

Incident Stonesford S-02: Incident Stonesford S-02 has been moved from Level-5 Clearance to Level-1 Clearance, as per the Foundation-GOC Stonesford Accord.

A Small Section of the Fire in Stonesford, Kentucky

Previous SCP-XXXX hosts were employed by the foundation in covert assaults on GOC bases on US soil. Each mission consisted of three phases. First, falsified documentation regarding the host's education and employment history would be utilized to infiltrate the particular target base. Second came the mapping and selection of a location to begin a fire which would spread across the base. Third, during the confusion caused by the growing fire, a mobile task force would covertly take possession of any documentation or items which the task force felt could be returned without endangering themselves in the conflagration.

During the raid against the Stonesford, Kentucky GOC base on November 6th, 1950, communication was lost with the host, an unrelated fire started, and the mobile task force which was at the ready mistook the fire for the signal to proceed, which resulted in the task force's total capture. At an undetermined point between the capture of all of the raiding foundation personnel and the host and the GOC contacting the foundation, the host performed an action which has yet to be observed in any other host; the host spontaneously ignited the copious amount of what was later determined to be nitroglycerin which had been manifesting within the host's body, terminating said host as well as most of the mobile task force and the GOC personnel holding the host at the time.1

Subsequent communiques between Foundation and GOC administrations resulted in the discovery and containment of the current host. SCP-XXXX's anomalous destructive abilities were discovered when an undisclosed anomalous item, known to be self-replicating within the infosphere, was subsequently found to be neutralized. After this event was disclosed to the foundation, the Foundation-GOC Stonesford Accord was drawn and instated. The accord outlines cooperation parameters and information security between the Foundation and the GOC as both pertain to SCP-XXXX.
